  1. This is a suggestion for the Mercenary Bodyguard speced skill "Power Shield". Atm, putting a point into this does the following" "Energy Shield now further decreases ability activation pushback by 30% and makes you immune to interrupts." Seems like the idea behind this perk is to enable us to continue to heal for the short amount of time our shield is active and help our teammates without other players preventing us from doing so. However, all it does currently is signal to players to stun/push/pull us. My suggestion is to add immunity to knockbacks/push/pull moves and perhaps stun, but the latter might be a little overkill. If it seems unreasonable perhaps expand this part of the skill tree into 3 stages? 1 point does what it currently does, 2 points prevents knockbacks/push/pull abilities as well as interrupts and 3 adds immunity to stuns? Only way adding 3 tiers to the ability would be viable however would be to lower some other abilities costs, such as the 5 points needed to cap Warden/Potent Medicine on the skill tree.
  2. You only still get progression towards your gear if you reach a certain number of medals.. I've gone several matches netting me 0 rewards.(as a merc healer) Happens in huttball most often when the team just demolishes us and wins very quickly. In regards to pvp I agree with your last statement. An example could be Halo. The gear doesn't make your character better, you just look cooler/the way you want to look. That alongside the ranks you get lets players now that you're either A a good player or B been playing a while. On my 3 characters I've enjoyed 1-49 pvp because gear doesn't really matter. (for the most part.) It's mostly about how good you and your team are.
  3. 1.2 has really killed the fun in pvp for me as a mercenary bodyguard. Kolto Shell is pretty crap now with the heat cost, just makes overheating worse. I pretty much use it on myself about 80% of the time and even then I don't reapply because other heat-costing heals are more effective. One DPS can pretty much cancel me out as a healer. I either A) heal my team some more before I die or B) heal myself(thus neglecting my team) till I overheat and then they kill me. It's even worse if the player is smart (which I don't know about your severs but I get singled out a lot by people) and they just come back to me over and over, making me useless. Healing is what I enjoy in MMO's so respecing my bountyhunter would just make the game--though it's currently not enjoyable-- even less enjoyable. I feel a DD in my place would help the team much more.
  4. I agree. I have 3 pieces of my BM gear now with only about 9 wins total since update. (Though one piece was purchased with saved up commendations prior to patch. Which EVERYONE should have done but plenty did not.) I will say that it really freaking sucks as a merc healer to go up against a team on vent who just crush/zerg you in huttball. I've gone several matches with 0 valor, 0 commendations and 0 credits because of this.
  5. I rolled my mercenary specifically to heal and so far with one day of playing with 1.2 it's pretty frustrating. (pvp that is) I'm not overheating that much, but definitely more than I think is reasonable. I die much faster, too fast imo. I thought the entire point of our shield was to be almost invulnerable then once it's down we go back to being easy prey? Guess we should be easy to kill all the time.
  6. Don't you love it? Getting pushed, pulled, stunned so you can't do anything? On top of that, actual interrupts? It's great. ^^
  7. I personally do find in all warzones but the new one. That is unless I'm just defending or the other team is really weak it's very likely I'll get 3 medals only. Which in fact happened with the 3 I did today, netting me 0 everything.
  8. ^ Not much more to say besides that. Each skill tree is meant for one of the three. Which is pretty self explanatory which-is-which.
  9. I was a BG/Arsenal hybrid until I got Torian and then I switched over to full BG. I use Torian and keep him well geared and he works just fine for me. I dislike the tank companions as they just kill too slow, and Torian doesn't take that much dmg to where I can't heal him.
  10. If I recall they said they want to implement cross faction mailing, so just be patient. If it's not in 1.2 it'll be in a later patch.
  11. Really. If you don't like the game then don't come back? No one wants to hear you complain. Go play WoW or something.
  12. I'm for it, that or a force speed equivalent jet pack escape.
  13. Interesting idea, but I don't like it personally. If it was implemented I feel it should be for all classes, not just bounty hunter. Despite any lore issues. I'm also not keen on the penalties you listed. 1) Loss of experience gain is probably the one I could care less about. Since most your experience comes from quests, less exp from mobs wouldn't hurt much. 2) Unless the credits lost is a decent amount, it wouldn't be worthwhile. And I don't really want to lose credits cause some noob is angry at me and puts a bounty on me. 3) Wouldn't your armor get damaged anyways from the fight? 4) This one is a bad idea because it could effectively prevent someone from leveling their character. Which I highly doubt they would put in the game for that reason. 5) This one doesn't bother me much. Would be annoying(which is the point), but it's something I could live with. 6) How much valor are we talking? A percentage perhaps? At the higher valor ranks any substantial loss would hurt too much imo. I guess the speeder one is the only one I feel would work(for me), out of what you listed anyways. The warrior/knight thing sounds like a cheap idea. Agent/Smuggler one isn't bad though.
  14. I don't really want a bounty board. If one gets put in, cool, if not, cool too. I'd prefer they use their time to do something more productive however, like fix bugs/the horrible optimization of the game engine.
  15. As a bodyguard merc I hate arsenal mercs that just tracer missile me into the ground. Not much I can do besides stun run/cure myself. I'm more upset at the fact I can't use cure to remove the debuff. That being said, I have played an arsernal merc and would love to do so again but I feel the tree needs to be reworked. I agree that they have done little to change the arsenal rotation.
  16. Doc(knight) is definitely my favorite companion out of those two classes. I don't use any other companion besides him. Tho I find Scourge to be an interesting guy as well.
  17. We already have a shield and being able to escape and regroup is much better for pvp as it is a team game.
  18. I think it just seems OP because people don't know how to handle mercenaries defensive capabilities. The 5 players you mentioned could have easily stunlocked you and capped. A good DPS with an interrupt can **** a mercenary. Emphasis is on the word good, because lets face it, there's a lot of bad pvp players out there. I do feel that they made tracer missile too good. Stacking that debuff up just allows you to obliterate most enemies.
  19. Just fyi, your youtube links don't work. (signature as well)
  20. Obviously I have no insider information. But, one can I assume based on a simple analysis of the games current abilities and terrain that they would not be in favor of adding an ability that lets you jet pack up and back to reach a higher position. If they did Mercenaries in Huttball could run a complete straight line and be able to make it to the enemy goal and avoid all fire hazards along the way. Which are there specifically to slow down your movements so you can't just B-line it to the enemy goal. Also datacrons that would require several steps to reach would be reachable with fewer moves. (In some datacron cases, one move.) Giving merc/com an advantage for something that should be the same difficulty for all classes. While the ability would be overly useful for huttball scoring and datacrons, I don't think it's a good idea because it would be mostly useless for everything else. The ability would probably not have the same distance covering potential as force speed.(as it would move you both up and forward) Which that alone makes it less useful. The entire advantage of the force speed equivalent idea is to be able to get out of range (escape) of your enemies. Now if the ability would let you reach the same distance as force speed and have the ability to move you vertically, I might be more in favor for. But it would still be overly useful for scoring in huttball and datacrons and it seems unpractical that they would give us such an ability. **I imagine if the ability worked like this it would have to have a reticle that appears then you click where you want to land and you just insta-boost to that spot, much like a powertechs gap closer. ** Which would be awesome...not arguing with that. I just think it's less likely to be implemented than a force speed equivalent(for what should be obvious reasons). And that its usefulness as an escape tool would be useless, unless it covered the same distance force speed can. -------- Late when I typed this so hopefully I didn't word anything wrong. Now I'm off to bed! ------------
  21. While I think the ability to propel ourselves up and forward/back would be cool they wont add that, as it would eliminate the challenge for certain datacrons. Not to mention it would make the classes broken in Huttball. Nor do I feel it would be as useful as a move that's comparable to Force Speed.
  22. I agree. *cough* Go to the thread in my signature and suggest your ideas for an escape mechanism. *cough*
  23. If only there were a delete function. I'd remove this post(the one you're reading right now), but alas there is not. Either way, anyone else have any opinions on an escape mechanism, in combat revive, friend-pull for mercenary? Which do you think we need/don't need, etc?
  24. Not being able to "run", cause lets face it that is not sprinting, at level one was absolutely stupid. This is a good change and it should have been this way on day one.
