  1. If you're a healer spec don't use anything but your healing cylinder. You'll just be gimping yourself. If you want to DPS while playing a healer just pop your 30 charges and spam powershots with a relic or stim active. Should do decent, or at least it use to. I personally haven't done this since 1.2. Too busy healing.
  2. There have been so many of these threads. Maybe they'll add it, probably not, but right now they have more important things to do. Player bounties wont come until things calm down. Also they're not taking as long to implement changes as you think. From my experience in other MMO's they're working pretty quick. Side note~ I don't like the player bounty idea.
  3. Oy, I hope all these children, at least I hope they are children acting in such a way, stay off my server when transfers happen. MMO's should really implement severs that have an age bracket. I don't know how they'd verify your age, but i'm sure there is a way. Or better yet, a maturity rating..... I can dream... I can dream.
  4. I'm surprised(I shouldn't be) how unhelpful the replies above are. If you're interested in Pyrotech as the tree you want to spec in I recommend Powertech. The reason being is Powertech's talents work better for Pyrotech. Yes, the Pyrotech tree is shared, but there are difference between the two along with other talents Powertech can get in its other trees that makes it superior. One example of this would be Powertechs having a 100% chance to proc Combustible Gas Cylinder, thus allowing the use of railshot whenever it's up. If you want to closely examine the difference I suggest pulling up both the Mercenary and Powertech skill trees on torhead.
  5. I don't see an issue with merc healing, seems to work fine for me. There are rare occasions that I overheat but that's only if the people I'm healing are taking way too much damage. Which is more of an issue with their gear vs their enemy(s). In pvp specifically, merc's should have no heat issues unless they are focus firing players which a good team will do. But ideally you wont be the only healer, so should be all good.
  6. You can't kite a watchman. As a SENTINEL (not sentinal...) you should know this. That is of course if the watchman specs with close quarters..which he should. Not all classes have a slow ability. BH has a KB that slows down the target, but any sentinel who is worth anything will leap right back at him, making the 4 second slow worthless. Your entire defense for sentinel is based on them being kiteable, which as a watchman they are not. It also depends on a class having the ability to slow your movement down, which not all classes have.
  7. I know from personal experience, but just by looking at powertech's skill tree you can see that it's better for pyro than mercenary. If pyro is your main goal for bounty hunter your best bet is powertech, imo. However, I don't know about pve, as I don't raid, but I imagine if powertech pyro is better in pvp it'll be better in pve too.
  8. I can only speak from a mercenary bodyguard perspective, but mercenary healing is fine if not really good. I'm usually top healer in any warzone. Just make sure someone guards you.
  9. I didn't go pure bodyguard until I got Torian as my companion. Prior to that I did a hybrid bodyguard/arsenal build. Essentially so I could have tracer missile and do some damage to enemies. This was pre 1.2, not sure if it'll work as well post 1.2
  10. It's not broken I can assure you. The best tip I can give you besides telling you what I find to be the best spec for a healer, is to make sure you use kolto missile a lot. You should be using this to heal every time it's up. Kolto shell is also, pretty damn good still despite the heat cost on it now. You just have to plan who you place it on more carefully and can't spam it on to different people. *edit* Also, if you don't already, put a point into Heat Damping and use your stun and more offensive abilities to making healing easier for you. Ie. CC one of the DD's that's ****** one of your team mates.
  11. Much better list than the OP's original. Tho juggs can be a beast if played right and sorc/sages are still pretty tough. Oh and I think a mercenary bodyguard (healer) is somewhere in the middle.
  12. If you broke the first initial stun any advantage he had is gone. Also, concussion missile is so easy to spot, you could easily interrupt it. Only way you couldn't is if he uses the instant cast move. Also force leap has a range of 30m, so after the KB you could immediately jump to him. Unless of course it's a huttball match, which is the only place our KB is truly very useful.
  13. I don't see the problem. Your heals can get interrupted, so can other healers? Unlike you however trooper/mercenaries can't force speed away from enemies. The only things they have to work with are a KB, a stun, and a mezz that takes forever to cast. I'm not saying L2P, but nothing you mentioned is broken. The example you gave is one that no one would survive. Also, pvp is not a solo game so if you get picked off by other players while you're on your own then it's not really your classes fault.
  14. I found that 1-49 was the only place hybrid builds really worked for mercenary.
  15. My issue with recruit gear is that it needs to be purchasable via commendations as well as credits. I pvp a lot when I level a new character and depending on how much exp bonus the legacy buff gives I plan to pvp exclusively. (So tired of the pve quests...) As it stands doing it this way I'll have way more commendations than I know what to do with and I doubt I'll be able to get 300k credits just from pvp, maybe, but I doubt it. Cause I will need to buy things as I level, so it wont be a continual increase in credits. To sum it up... make recruit gear purchasable via credits and let it be purchasable pre-50.
  16. They don't need a nerf... need reasons just read all the other posts telling you why.
  17. I think people that do defend should be rewarded well, even if no one ever comes to take their turret and they just stand there the entire match. In most warzones I get more than 6 medals, so me just standing there would result in less PVP progression for me. Not something I particularly want, but if I'm needed to defend then I'll do it. Obviously you run the risk of too many people just sitting there instead of helping, but there is always going to be a risk of that no matter what. Also isn't that kick feature in the game? Just do that.
  18. So... your complaining that they got help to defend their turret before you could cap it? Like they should be doing?
  19. At first I disliked the 1.2 changes for bodyguard mercenary, but it seems to be working just fine now. (I only pvp mind you) I'm usually the top healer in any warzone i'm in so the changes can't be all that bad. ^^ 1) I enjoy a challenge.. and if people say mercenary healing is bad then I'm all for showing it's quite handy in the right hands. 2) I don't know if other healing classes have additional bufffs that up healing or what not, but I enjoy the aspect that my kolto missile will not only up my overall healing but help out the other healers do more healing. 3) I also like that supercharged gas throws a shield on players along with proactive medicine giving a 10% armor buff. Buffing players and helping "turn the tide" is always fun. I hope in the future they expand bodyguard to be more of a buffer while keeping its current healing abilities. The current advance class types are pretty limited. You have a DD, a Tank and a Healer. No buffer/debuffer,(Unless I'm mistaken, completely possible) makes me sad. I think Mercenary Bodyguard would be best suited to become a buffer/healer.
  20. The only disadvantage you have in 10-49 pvp is less skills. Which can result in less damage dealt, but it's still very easy to play well with limited skills. Like was mentioned above, your skills are bolsters up so it's not like you're handicapped. (Outside of skills, but as I mentioned you should still be able to play just fine) 10-49 is probably the most fun/balanced pvp you'll play.

    No PvP Pop up

I had this happen to me a lot few weeks back. The work around I did was to go to another zone, quit the game,(not logout), reopen the game and then zone/travel back to the fleet from wherever I was at. When I had this issue I also had an issue where I couldn't do space missions. The mission would start then all the objects would disappear and I'd just be floating in empty space. I also found that my quickbars wouldn't show my abilities on cooldown when I had this issue. It showed that all my abilities were always up(tho they could not be used).
  22. People leveling the currently stronger classes is how it usually works after a patch. I know a while back 1-49 was very operative heavy on my server, now it's full of powertechs and marauders.
  23. Steam? I know you meant heat, but I'm just curious why you said steam. Sage and mercenary are two different classes with different resource mechanics. It's very, very easy as a BH to get your heat too high. You can not just spam abilities as a BH you need to plan them out or at least space them out so that your heat stays low. As a rule of thumb keep your heat 39 and under, as it regenerates quicker if it's under 40.
