  1. Because if you can, you will be able to dominate a healing sorcerer in 1.2. Force bending (the buff applied upon casting the HoT) is redesigned in 1.2 to no longer decrease the cast time of dark infusion (the 2.5 second "big" heal) by 1s. Every dark infusion (the only heal that actually heals enough) will be full 2.5 cast time (pre-alacrity). Without a percentage damage reduction cooldown, the only "reliable heal" is bubble, which we know is on a debuff cooldown. Lets not pretend that chaining double 1.5 dark infusions was not the only thing keeping us alive against 1 single DPS. Oh, and consumption will always consume HP now (the healing talent to remove health consumption was removed). So if you want to recover force (assuming you live long enough without 1.5s dark infusions), you will only put yourself in further jeopardy by using a GCD AND expend HP. Thank god I rerolled marauder (level 49 baby), which was BUFFED, hahahah.
  2. From the patch 1.2 http://www.swtor.com/test-center/patchnotes Only those that played or plays a healing specced sorcerer/sage will understand how huge this change is. To clarify, the force bending buff (the one that procs off your HoT) will most likely no longer decrease your dark infusion cast time (the 2.5 heal). (I say most likely because the patch note, while saying it was redesigned, does not explicitly state that its original effect was removed. I'm staying hopeful). Anyway, nevermind you're no longer able to pump out two 1.5 dark infusions with force bending (which was apparently a bug, so I'm okay with it being fixed), now you will always be stuck with a full cast time dark infusion. Lets not pretend chaining 1.5s dark infusions were not one of our best, if not THE best, tool we have to keep both ourselves and our teammates alive. And lets not pretend dark heal (the 1.5 second heal) crits for anything when it does. It crits for a non-crit dark infusion. Force is never an issue in PvP with all the moving around and smart consumption casts. The new effect to reduce force cost by 30% would be stupid if it replaces the current effect of force bending. With everyone gearing up with champion and battlemaster gears, I've already experienced a huge hit in my sorcerer's survivability now that people figured out how to interrupt and root/stun force speed. This change, if it does indeed replace the original effect of force bending, will be a huge hit to our already dwindling survivability, making sorcerers nothing more than easy targets (easier than we already are). Please don't let this change go through.
  3. MMO is about making money. It's a business You create a game that appeals to the greatest number of people. That game was WoW, and still is WoW, and will probably stay WoW for many years to come. DAoC had a much smaller player base, and an even smaller player base that even took the game seriously enough to place it on a pedestal and worship it even until now. Bioware is not going to CHANGE their game for YOU or the small fraction of "hardcore PvPers" that you come with. Either play the game as how it is, or don't play it. I enjoy reading suggestions, but I despise reading about how awesome DAoC was and how every MMO should be just like it. I also despise how "hardcore PvPers" like yourself think you're entitled to dictate how this game should be. Go back to DAoC and leave us alone. Or better yet, go come up with your own $400 million and make a DAoC clone.
  4. You can buy battlemaster bags?
  5. well this is for elitists right? haha. and dirty/cheesy play = strategy. This is real life competition. Just like you don't get punished for cheesing your opponent in a starcraft tournament.
  6. i'd definitely prefer a separate rating from your other "softcore" rated warzone rating. It's more of a elitist hardcore e-peen rating, or even a win-loss ratio. Then you have a little ladder where you can see who or which group is the best. Set up tiers so people more than one tier down can't challenge people who are more than one tier up. Now you have competitive progression for elitists. Of course this means all the hardcore people are going to stop playing normal rated warzones. Honestly if you want elitist game mode, the loser has to have something to lose in the game. The winner doesn't necessary have to gain anything other than prestige, but the loser has to lose SOMETHING. edit: when you have something to lose, you'll think twice about challenging someone above you for a place in the ladder. It discourages neverending zerg challengers as well as inflated win-loss ratios for top players.
  7. forget credits. You bet gear. Loser gets their wagered gear destroyed or transferred to the winner. You punish losers. Losers lose a level, valor rank, and/or ELO rating. It's been done before, just not in U.S. and European games.
  8. hell. I rolled a marauder alt and I can pop sorcerer base-line bubble with 1 force scream. And since i have talent, it's a guarantee crit for ~2500. It pops a base-line bubble in one hit, and they're put on a 20 second CD while mine is 9 seconds. The bubble is SO easy to pop it's not even funny. Without a percentage damage reduction CD, a sorcerer is super weak in any fight involving multiple opponent. Their force speed is crap if you know how to root or stun them when they activate it.
  9. + huttball - voidstar
  10. better in damage, worse in survivability. Sounds like a trade off to me. Working as intended.
  11. this thread is hilarious. It's been proven time and time again that sages/sorcerers are mediocre in high-end GROUP pvp (full champion / BM) and TRASH in high-end 1v1. They may be the best AoE healer, but commandos are the best small scale and 1v1 longevity/survivability healer. AoE heal is meaningless.
  12. we can? Oh you mean those "well-timed" double bubble trouble?
  13. neither can they be interrupted. in before cooldown, then i go mine has cooldown, then you go yours is longer, then i go yours is better, etc etc etc
  14. uh... no? after you hit BM rank, the rate of which you get BM gear is equalized. Everyone has the same chance at getting BM gear at that point and how fast you level valor becomes irrelevant. Everyone is also able to grind commendations for BM commendation (40-50 games per BM com.) If you had your BM before 1.1.5, you'd have an advantage over whoever is now hitting BM after 1.1.5 because of the extra daily/weekly you did for BM bags. The only reason why it is so much faster in 1.1.5 is because valor in pre-50 warzone was equalized with 50 warzone. The increase in pre-50 warzone is significant, 2 to 3 times more than pre-1.1.5. The increase in 50 warzone is much less, ~1.5 times more than pre-1.1.5. What this means is people who are leveling an alt will be able to hit 49V cap at level 49 very easily - probably more than sufficient if you WZ from level 46 or 47 -> 50 to get from 0V to 49V. This significantly reduces the amount of time spent in 50 warzone, where it is much harder to compete and get those 4 medals with some classes. However, this is equalized with the fact that most sub-50 warzones last the entire 15 minute duration (minus Alderaan). Whereas 50 warzones, especially huttball, typically ends way faster than its 15-minute duration. In the end, the amount of time necessary to get to 60V is probably half of what it used to take. However, like I said, the amount of time necessary to get full BM gears is not reduced by that much considering it takes much longer to get enough commendations for full BM gear than it takes to get from 1-60V.
  15. no. xp didn't increase just valor. so if you spend the majority of your time in PvP to level, you'll be stuck at the valor cap the majority of the time,
  16. so you have a full time job, a nagging wife, but you include yourself in "us serious players?" LOL. Btw, BM rank doesn't mean you have BM gear. BM rank is like the beginning of farm for BM gear, which you will probably getting in another few weeks or more than a month.
  17. sharing gear is f'ing dumb. the whole point of mmo is to make you play longer, not for you to do some easy PvP and have BiS to PvE. PvE is progression, PvP is grind. The awards shouldn't be shared. especially when war hero gear is so easy to get in 1.2.
  18. well yeah, it's something extra, that EVERYONE has the equal opportunity to obtain. It's far from "handing people gear." BM gear is only a tiny upgrade from champion gear with all the DR hits.
  19. BM gear is like honor gear. It was meant to be grindable all along. BW made it clear valor rank on BM gear was temporary until they could release rated WZ. They never meant BM to be some awesome prestigious thing, not that it ever was to begin with. plus, if you RNG a commendation from a bag that results from a ~30 minute daily, you just got that same commendation someone bought from the PvP vendor for 10 hours of WZ grinding. 10 hours for 1 commendation is not as fast as you would think.
  20. Nope. Shadows are the hardest class to kill, and the best 1v1 duel class (duel meaning everyone having all their CDs). There was a 1v1 tournament on this. Shadows has light armor. trolololololololol.
  21. it's still there you progress in color! You go from the blue ranger, which no one cares about, and progress to black, red, and then white, the "cool" one! why do i have so much knowledge in power rangers?
  22. Lol. This has nothing to do with valor or the changes. This is the expansion/patch mentality. "OMG, higher tier next patch? increased level cap next expansion? new rated warzones?" EVERYONE STOP PLAYING YOU'RE JUST WASTING YOUR TIME! ALL YOUR GEARZ WILL BE OUTDATED NEXT PATCH/EXPANSION. Only people who care SO MUCH about their gear will have this mentality. People who play to play with friends or to have fun won't even care.
  23. I don't know, 40-50 warzone games for a single commendation takes a long while. It's not hard, just annoying.
  24. 1. You're going to die even if you're stun-breaker is up, there is no question about that if you get pulled into a group. The ~4500 HP you gain from your medpac will keep you alive for maybe another second or so. And more likely than not, you're not going to have your stun-breaker up because of all the CCs people throw at you throughout the game. A pull -> stun has a much shorter CD than your stun-breaker. Not to mention pulling into hazard in Huttball pretty much guarantees a kill. 2. When you say "the other healer heals you," you're assuming reacts fast enough, is not midcast, is not getting interrupted himself, is not CCed himself, and is in LoS of the other healer. And even if he meets all those requirements, the pulled healer will not likely stay alive without guard in range. 3. I said there are easy ways around it, and I gave you easy ways around it. What more do you want? You have 2 classes that can pull, 2 classes that can push, and many classes that can knockback. You know what is theorycrafting? What you're doing. I'm giving you scenarios from personal experience and what I've seen done to counter tank/healer combos, and you're replying with hypothetical situations where you assume CDs, reactions, and competency. This is starting to go in the direction of "SORCS ARE OP BECAUSE OF ALL THEIR UTILITIES" in X situation kind of arguments you make, so, i'll just leave it at that.
  25. actually, I am a healer, and this is far from a "theorycraft technique." You'd be surprise how fast a healer dies when they get grappled from 30m away into a group of people and get instantly stunned. Usually death happens before you pocket tank can even react, in a matter of seconds. This works especially well with hazards, LoS, or just a group of people. No one is going to die if you zerg into a 4-some double tank/healer, of course, but there are easy ways around it. Doesn't even require much skill to pull this off or even a premade, so don't give me the whole theorycraft technique bs.
