  1. Then either the majority of your class's abilities are non-cast-time abilities, you attribute delays to FPS/latency, or you mash buttons and hardly pay attention to whether there is ability delay or not. It exists, and it's been proven and acknowledged by the creators of Hero Engine. There was some 1000+ post threads on this topic. Won't be on this forum though. It's a game-wide issue.
  2. Which arena would you be referring to? You're just making assumptions at this point. Also, if SWTOR arena is anything like WoW arena, it is not going to be a "small area" or is it going to lack "moving parts," aka pillar of water and fire. Then you look at Huttball and Ilum, where there are moving parts in the environment and you realize FPS and responsiveness issues are even worse than open word and static environment you filmed in. Not to mention the ability delay with the Hero Engine itself. That has nothing to do with FPS and/or lag. It's something that will ALWAYS be there no matter how small and static your environment is. You CANNOT have a meaningful small scale (2v2, 3v3, 4v4) competitive Arena-like PVP with such a system. Sure, they can still put one in, but it will likely suck.
  3. I would argue the opposite actually. Notice how in the video they had awful FPS issues? There were situations where he froze There were situations where the opponent was teleporting around If anything, this video is the prime example of how this game is NOT READY for arena or any form of small scale competitive PvP where FPS and responsiveness actually matter.
  4. Nice, someone reported me and got me a warning. But I'm going to repost what I said again, with a bit of editing. So at 0:35 when the sorcerer breaks 4s stun AFTER ~1.5 second of reaction time, WHEN HIS TEAMMATE IS AT FULL HP, just to get CC'd by a tornado for FULL DURATION is probably not a very good thing to do Sorcerer knockback opponent TOWARD his healer instead of AWAY to the side to LoS heal because his healer is hugging the house-thing, is probably not a very good thing to do Random running around Standing out in the open Running up right next to a target to cast whirlwind even though it's a range cast All those things are probably not very good representations for someone who is rank 1 in WoW. May it's just a bad day for you guys though. It's okay, try harder next time.
  5. bro. he knows. FOR A FACT. tooltip? personal experience? irrelevant!
  6. Operative can stealth and run ahead of the ball carrier to receive a ball by unstealthing. There is like no way to know whether there are operatives at the other side of the hazard, or at the goal line! It's like when I think the pass is to the middle of nowhere and the ball is going to reset... BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM... an operative appears to receive the ball and scores. What is this OP crap. Is Huttball Stealthball? Remove stealth, or make it so you cannot stealth on the enemy half of the map ahead of where your ball carrier is. Do it. Now.
  7. Considering the jugg. did not at once in the game guard the healer, and the healer stood out in the open for the majority of the game, a timed swap -> CC jugg probably would've ended the game after the first 40 seconds after healer had trinketed. But hey, R1 gladiators got their own strategies.
  8. Really? this was r1 glad? didn't realize gladiators were this bad.
  9. f you remove the ability to sprint with a ball and the ability to pull someone with a ball, you realize this means the sorcerer/sage class would be less incentivized to even do the objective right? Not to mention the whole thing about sorcerers still able to force speed through the fire to the other side to receive an easy pass. In fact, this is MUCH MORE PREFERABLE than actually CARRYING the ball because the ball snares and sorcerers are squishy. Not to mention the ability to offensively pull the ball carrier, which completely nullifies force speed and rescue. I cannot mention how many times I've gotten stunned mid-force speed, or get pulled while I'm sprinting or jumping over a fire. It's so easy to counter force speed and force leap, it's call knowing what they do and react accordingly. And also, operatives: you can stealth ahead of the ball carrier and receive a pass. A lot of assassins and operatives do this in my game. It is much more OP than any speed modifier. It's like "OH HEY A RANDOM PASS TO THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE ------------------------> O there is a operative/assassin there to receive it." Nerf stealth so you can't stealth ahead of the ball carrier and can only stealth on YOUR SIDE of the map BEHIND the ball carrier. I just taught you how to play yourself in huttball, your welcome.
  10. actually, no one in this thread complained about the lockout at all, except for the ones you claimed to have complained elsewhere. the majority of us are suggesting getting locked out and just cast something else during the lockout. You're just offering dumb solutions that no one agrees with.
  11. I hear CS has a gear difference too. A new player who joined the game is not going to have the guns, vest, helmet, granades, and flashbangs that a "old" player has. So does other FPS like CoD and BF, where the more you play and the higher ranks you get, the better weapons/mods/abilities you will have. Sounds like a lot of games are based on progression and time investment. I don't know bro.
  12. I did, because I was the one who said that in the first place. Your solution is crap, and so is your logic. There is no way to know that your opponent sucks or has a slow reaction for interrupts without "reading his mind." There is also a huge possibility that he does not have the same reaction time every single time. Therefore, it would be nearly impossible to predict when he will actually interrupt, or will be interrupt at all, for a specific cast to justify fake casting - without "mind reading." If you fake cast, then pause for a second, you've just already went through half of the lockout time of an interrupt. Not to mention the possibility that he didn't even try to interrupt and then you get interrupted on your NEXT cast. What is your solution now? Wait longer? Wait until his interrupt animation (if there is one for that class) to go off before you cast anything? Seriously. My solution? Cast something else.
  13. and this game neither has dual class nor has guild rating. it has a typical gear progression type PvP. You're asking SWTOR to redesign itself. And as far as game longevity goes, WoW wins on that for this generation of MMO games. And guess which system it has? Mhm.
  14. and Rift conceptualized, designed and implemented their dynamic event system the day it was released right? instantaneous development and implementation. Please be more naive.
  15. Because it's not worth it. By fake casting, you're assuming your opponent is good enough to interrupt within 1.5 seconds. That's usually not the case. What you end up doing is interrupting yourself, then recasting and get immediately interrupted by the late interrupt of the opponent. And since the interrupt in this game does not lock out an entire school, not fake casting is better than fake casting most of the time. I fake cast sometimes in 1v1 situations, but most of the time, and especially in 1vX situations, it is not worth it.

    Not OP?

lol healbot. most of those are his self-heals bro, hence the green numbers WITHOUT a name in front of it? Healbot is different from just having healers on your team in general. The only times he actually got healed by someone else is when he is fighting in the group and happened to be near the healers. No healers followed him around to "healbot" him. I mean this marauder didn't even biochem. It's stupid how when someone posts a sorcerer doing 1mil healing, or 900K aoe dmg in Voidstar, people jump and say OP. But as people readily admit in this thread in doing just as much damage on SINGLE TARGET damage, they're "balanced." OKAY BROS.
  17. how would disabling pulling when in possession of the pull do anything? YOU PULL THE PERSON THAT HAS THE BALL YOU DON'T PULL YOURSELF. BY DEFINITION OF PULLING, YOU'RE NOT IN POSSESSION OF THE BALL. herp derp.
  18. solid strategies? Reflexes? Have you PLAYED this game? it's all about class abilities and ultra tunnel vision. Guard a healer and you win. Reflexes? ability delay? FPS issues? Come on, we all know SWTOR will never be a serious competitive PvP game, with or without gear. WoW is probably the best game out there responsiveness-wise.
  19. is this another thread where sentinels/marauders come in and talk about how HARD their class is and how EASY sorc/mercs are? Seriously. get over yourselves.
  20. First the "real PvPers" want non-gear progression PvP. AKA GW2, and DoAC (kinda). First, DoAC is not as skill-based as people claimed it to be, and it had "ability" progression. After gear is "removed," you still have difference classes. And this is when real PvPers (aka PvPers that suck) start complaining about class balance and class composition in competitive PvP. They will then ask for identical abilities across all classes. Then the MMO fails. When EVERYONE gets full battlemaster, essentially there is no more gear difference. Just as all the top arena teams in WoW all had access to full arena gear. What people want is to remove the work required to get those gear, aka time investment. They want new 50s to be able to compete with veteran 50s. They want people who invested 5 days into level 1-50 to compete on equal footing as someone who had played for a month. then after this, if they still lose, they will start crying about class balance and how like WoW one composition is vastly superior than all the others (mage/rogue/priest). Seriously. Go play another game, like GO BACK TO DOAC or wait for GW2, because SWTOR is a PVE game, not a PvP game. BTW, GW2 copying rift's "rift system," that made me LOL'd
  21. But getting 60V and doing weekly/daily is skill? HA.
  22. oh. You're THAT Megatf. Stopped watching as soon as I saw the legacy name "Brutalgladiator." And the whole ultra slow motion on friendly pulls when it is probably the most common occurrence by any non-bad sorcerers of any spec in any huttball game? Combined with the low quality (lol 720p) of the video. I just didn't find any reason to go beyond the first minute. And considering every class with the same mods and gear level have the same HP... not sure why that's even in the title. Anyway, bye.
