  1. I will know that I have played too much ToR when I have all characters at max level with all their crew skills maxed out.
  2. For next time, either Mako or Vector, please.
  3. Now that I can post again... Thanks for the update. The developers should continue to do this. I'm not so much eager for the SGR. Fine if you do that. It is just not a priority for me. Bug fixes and class balance are a priority for me. I'd like to see more of this kind of update. I would also like to see just a bit more CSR training. A few of the GM-droids I've talked to in the game lack that. For example, I once reported that the Republic voice actor was playing on the Imperial Voidstar opening montage. The CSR actually told me "I cannot confim that Satele's voice is playing." Excuse me? They basically told me I was a liar. I did not appreciate that. I was annoyed even further by this when two weeks later, a patch update note said that Satele's voice over would no longer play on the Imperial side of Voidstar. It was a known issue and the CSR dismissed me. That is not good customer service. Still playing, still having fun, still paying.
  4. The Bounty Hunter has this upstart kid confront you once you land on, I think, Nar Shadda where the kid say "I'm not afraid of you. I have a flame thrower!" Confident guy.
  5. If you ask me, knowing the future makes any kind of saving or reclaiming scheme rather fruitless. As far as Taris goes, we already know that even after three thousand years, Taris never recovers. So, would I want to help in a recovery project there? No. It would be futile. Of my characters, my Jedi would not mind helping. My smuggler wouldn't mind running supplies there (as long as she is paid, of course.) But that's about it. Taris would seem to hold two purposes: one, it's a, if not THE, source for study of the rakghoul plague. Second, there is still that vault where the leaders of the planet in the past are frozen in carbonite. In that, there is still some value. Beyond that, I cannot think of any reason to restore the planet or what value it has. Well, it can be a great source of scavanged metal. But recycling metal does not seem to be something those in the Star Wars universe seem to care to do. Especially when you consider that there are whole planets used for trash and old ship disposal.
  6. I don't mind companions. Sometimes, I wish other MMOs had the companion concept. "What? Ten million players and absolutely no one wants to help me with this quest??" Thank goodness for companions on that.
  7. On Jung Ma, healers have a much, much faster queue then tanks. There simply are not enough healers on the server.
  8. Eh. When the game is no longer fun, I'll stop playing and paying. When the game servers are turned off and you can no longer log in, I'll stop playing. Until then, I'll just keep playing.
  9. Mini pet with amusing combat attribute. While you are in combat, the mini pet also attacks. But it only does a maximum of 1 damage. It also barks, yips, roars, or hisses at your target. How much? Oh, $10.00 or 1500 CC.
  10. I don't use mods in any online game I play. Never have. I use one hand for movement keys, the occasional number command, and target selection with the tab key. The other hand has the mouse for command selection, camera turning (if I need it,) movement (hold both buttons down,) and targeting on mobs too far away to auto-selected. After ten years of MMOs, I've become very proficient at it. Some have commented that I have fast mods. I chuckle at that. As for the ToR community, so far, it's better then WoW's. You can still ask a question in chat and get an actual answer instead of flames and insults. Chat channels are not filled with unacceptable topics. And when they are, if Bioware's rules about punishments are to be believed, offenders take a nice vacation. Unlike WoW's penalty volcano where you get a series of warnings before any real punishment is handed out; very few take warnings seriously. The game is a challenge and has several good storylines. For that, I'll keep paying and playing. I'm not sure what gender has to do with all of this though.
  11. What are you whining about? You want to lose all those restricitons, pay a monthly fee. If you don't, you have restrictions. Posts like this make me sick. Why the mods tolerate threads like this I will never know.
  12. Even PvPers have to sleep sometime. /shrug Unless obtaining this new companion is a limited time feature, I can wait people out.
  13. Barely available for only 24 hours and you are already complaining about NPC placement. "The boy has no patience." - Yoda.
  14. I believe in a past Q&A a developer liked the idea of being able to install color crystals to mounts for glow effects. Naw. None of those. I don't want to play a Hutt. Yoda's race has always been very rare. I'd like to keep it that way. This would probably demand a lot of your average graphic's card. Lightsabers can deflect blaster shots. I am not really a fan of seeing blaster burns on walls. As for targeting NPCs, naw. Many NPC areas have no guards or the guards are very sparse. I'd rather Bioware not do that. More Warzones or world pvp areas (with objectives / quests) would be nice though. The Imerpial Walker seen in Empire have not been invented yet. It's predecessor is out there. Both sides use them and you can sometimes see one parked outside a settlement. These walkers are your tanks.
  15. The only part of the OP's post that I agree with is the lack of communication from the developers. I have the impression that the monthly Q&A was inconvenient for the developers and that is why they stopped. Ok. Do a two month time frame. And not necessarily about what is coming in the future either. Address community concerns, what bugs are known and being fixed, etc. I personally do not ask for much but the occasional Q&A would be nice. Maybe after Wednesday's patch Bioware will get back to talking to us again. I'd like that.
  16. The only thing that worries me about F2P is knowing how a gaming community can be. Not having to pay to play could mean a lot more profanity, credit bots, rudeness, and all the other "WoW Trade Chat" stuff that people just loove to deal with. I have yet to read anything that says F2P accounts be held to any different standard as far as rule breaking goes.
  17. Is the OP using some sort of addon for the forums that forces him to post in a "double-lined" format? It's very annoying.
  18. Interesting. She doesn't look fifty to me.
  19. Two. So, that's a total of three Jedi who have stopped a lightsaber with their hands by using the Force. Assuming Satele didn't have some kind of kind of armor plating that deflects lightsaber energy in her gauntlet. I know such materials exists. I haven't read the stories with Corran Horn and I'm only familiar with the basics surrounding Jacen Solo. Still, I think my original point stands. An individual with the ability to deflect a lightsaber with their hand is a rare feat amongst Force users. Having a unique or rare ability does not make you a Mary Sue. Now, if Satele used this ability in every lightsaber fight she is in from now on, I can see a problem. I'm not going to debate this one. Frankly, it does not matter to me whether the title of "Jedi Master" was bestowed upon Satele before the comic or after the comic. If you want to nitpick, then sure, it would make a difference from a technical stand point. And I'm a member of Phil Farrand's ST:TNG Nitpicker's Guild so I know nitpicking. But it just is not relevant here. Her title has nothing to do with her ability to use the Force. I don't think Satele is worthy of the title. She has a very rare Force power. She is a well respected Jedi and a member of the Jedi Council. Nothing about about that says "Mary Sue" to me. Again, Yoda was very special and loved by everyone. Yoda is not a Mary Sue. I think people are too quick to drop the "Mary Sue' label on characters. Satele does not qualify for this label. Not yet.
  20. I'd love to see some space combat like this. It's got my support.
  21. This. The Republic and the Empire are enemies. The story of Star Wars has been about that underlying concept. There has never been anything that suggests these two factions are bit players in the galaxy as a whole with some broader, larger concept out there threatening all. And it should stay that way. There is enough room in this conflict for minor or major issues to threaten one side or the other. Or even both. But it should never, ever be something that would unite the SIth and the Jedi. Or the Republic and the Empire for that matter. The two sides do not work together. Keep it that way.
  22. I'm not interested in a new profession. Some fine tuning of the current ones would be better. I cannot think of any ways to do that though (I just like to play.) But having a little more "hands on" bit added to the professions would make them more fun. For me anyway.
  23. Enemies shooting at my Jedi on Tython before they obtained their first real lightsaber were deflecting blaster bolts with their vibroblades.
  24. So, the general opinion of Satele stopping a lightsaber with her hand makes her a Mary Sue? I guess that means that the Jedi that can sense a being's true nature in the Sith storyline is Mary Sue too, huh? To date, I've never seen anyone stop a lightsaber with their hand except Satele. And as long as it's a very rare feat, I'm ok with that. Did it make me think it was wrong when I first saw it? Yes. But Satele is a Jedi Master. Yoda could absorb Force Lightning with his hands and even shoot it back. Yoda also did this against Palpatine. But Yoda was also a Jedi Master. And a powerful one at that. I doubt many other Jedi could absorb Force lightning (even Dooku could only reflect it.) And I doubt many other Jedi could stop a lightsaber with the Force through their hand. Having a unique or rare ability does not make you a Mary Sue.
