  1. Well per person, 8 man is intended to be harder than 16man, its obvious that damage wise that it wasn't the case for this tier. The amount of jobs for an 8 man is more demanding for execution than a 16man however which is what the OP was getting at. That being said, soa's 8 man nightmare intended fight mechanics are great for the difficulty and i am surprised that there is not an additional ball of lightning to make it that much more difficult.
  2. I think people don't realize something, the meters do not make you able to raid or not to raid, it allows you to see how you are performing in the raid and allows you to fix your rotations so you are not a hindrance to your raid. The goal of the player should be to better themselves to better the group/guild, if it isn't, then you are playing the wrong genre of game. I mean even in ME3 when you complete a multiplayer match you can see how you did and how your group did. The main issue i find is, if BW doesn't want to put in the effort to give us these tools, there are plenty of individuals who are willing to do the work to give us these tools, so let them. Organization is part of the raiding process, and we want these tools(as raiders) to be better organized. So what is the issue?
  3. Well are you wiping to enrage with all 8 of your raid members alive? I'm sorry but you didnt really give enough detail to the actual mechanics of the fight you are experiencing trouble with and how your raid is handling them or if members of your raid are dieing or not. A major thing i do for my group is I(the MT jug) kill the 2 adds at 50% by myself and keep the dps on the rancor, the only time we get close to an enrage timer is if someone in my raid is just being a jack *** and dies to one of the mechanics like back handed into the pit or getting multiple players hit by the swipe
  4. Personally i like chain shock better as a 2/31/8. The idea the OP has is going against higher armor targets, but the idea of chain shock is giving him the capability of what he's looking for, bypassing armor. Since armor doesn't mitigate elemental damage, it is in my opinion the better choice to go with chain shock, since you're just avoiding the armor mitigation all together.
  5. Even doing south first, we have had it lock up on my guild in HM, its really a luck based game which is supposed to be getting "fixed" w/ 1.1.5
  6. My strat for my guild is to just ball up in front of him and aoe through the salvos, more than healable. On topic: The rocket phase isnt on a timer, its % of HP based, usually from pull we get two back to back salvos bout 20 seconds into the fight because of the low % of hp needed to put him into the salvo phase early on.
  7. If the programmers working on SWTOR werent a bunch of *********** ******* they would just make it so the tank doesnt get mind trapped to prevent this from happening, but they apparently can't figure out how to write an if check for the tank and not put it into the mind trap
  8. quick fix, get out of velcro-shoe pug mode, and get into HM and nightmare
  9. cause taking the time to type when you should be holding threat/dps'n/healing is more beneficial to the group than hitting a key and speaking. Being ex-military the OP should understand the importance of communication, if he can't handle it, tough ****.
  10. I find it hilarious that due to WoW implementing a LFD and LFR system 6years+ into development, every other MMO is required to have these features at launch. I don't think they need these systems at all, keep the MMO part in the genre, be social get a guild thats what this genre is about, if you wanna get on a game for an hour to go play and get off, MMOs arent for you, sorry.
  11. They are called Hard Modes for a reason people, that being said, the content is still pretty easy and was all while gearing up. Personally i find their current enrage effects exciting as a tank cause then it turns into "burn this freaking boss!", on top of being able to tank enraged bosses for quite a while before i get my face slapped in. Idk im just competetive and enjoy mechanics that push me to better myself.
  12. Actually you can do HM BT without any healer, using only medpacks, pretty easy actually
  13. Personally for ops i like the 31/10/0 build the best, sonic barrier is just so good, for the 14/27/0 to fully utilize the survivability aspects of the spec you have to constantly be jumping around to utilize huddle/unstopable. Given that, you really have to be lucky w/ RNG on some fights or you may end up killing your melee by accident. single target as 31/10/0 i rarely have an issue with threat, AoE is a whole different beast though, idk if i just suck at AoE tanking but i can rarely hold threat through AoE taunt/smash/sweeping slash(this again in ops)
  14. Bioware still gave HM ops gear to the non raider player through the end boss of flashpoints, so you're complaining now that because the raider is given more opportunity to get the gear they work for, its bad design? that just doesnt make any sense to me
  15. As far as his 2nd point of not being able to re-enter the instance, yes that is a load of crap and their programming for lockouts is incorrect. As far as design of the fights, i dont see the "hard earned" part at all, this is a very easy straight forward fight that shows you exactly who is being targetted by what, if you can't set up malgus for the group to knock him off without you getting knocked off, you're doing it wrong, i've done this HM FP everyday for the last week and its a joke, HK is more difficult than malgus, and thats not saying much. Besides that, very fun story driven fight, i enjoyed it.
  16. will dropping a crew skill i.e. Artifice, get rid of crafted materials made by that crew skill, namely the rakata trinkets made by Artifice??
  17. If i drop artifice(400) will i lose my rakata trinkets crafted through it?
  18. idk who is getting benched on their jug tanks for raid spots, i get asked all day to tank HM fps, im the main tank in my guild for raids, sometimes helps to take the initiative and make your own groups and get gear if you're being benched cause you're under geared personally my main issue w/ the class is soresu form/guard set up, the threat gen through these do not mathematically add up to the dps output from the other classes, atleast in my raid when BHs are constantly critting
  19. i lvl'd to 50 as vengeance, had no problem on voss solo'n anything with jaesa, i dont understand why people are having problem w/ lvling content... its the easy content...
  20. that happened to us twice in a row, third time the fight worked as intended till the last 10% where HK bugged out and stood outside the center and casted his buff and 1 shot me(tank) halfway through the channel
  21. personally i woulda liked to have seen more rakghouls after the turret boss and less hordes of zombies, especially those screamers, all those bastards do is throw me around
  22. ok using a game of huttball for example. in 15 minute game you could realistically use endure pain 3-4 times in the entire duration of the game. bioware was kind enough to cut that CD in half now you are using it 6-9 times a game realistically, you just doubled your ability to make aggressive plays and survive, thus uping your survivability, or even straight up running the huttball, please now explain through obvious numbers how thats not a survivability increase
