  1. Just because it;s a click quest, kill NPC quest doesn't mean it is a PVE quest. If they happen to be in a PvP area and the rewards/reputation go towards 'PvP exclusive' content - be that mounts/ weapons/cuddly toys whatever then they are essentially PvP quests and you can choose to do them or not. All PVE 'complainers' in this debate seem to be suggesting is that Illum, as a PvP area, should not exist on a PVE server which was never BW's intention. Of course you can act like it doesn't exist by never going there and your perceived problems are solved.
  2. Groupfinder did nothing for me HK-51 did nothing for me heroic space missions did nothing for me Welcome to the club. Whilst I'm not an avid PvP'r they have had many more worthless updates than PVE centric players, so give them a bone.
  3. To be honest it depends on what your definition of reward is. For example a PVE'r can get exclusive mounts etc in Ops so if rewards from this were mounts and the like would you consider that a PVE reward or the PvP reward equivalent. Just because it is a quest does not mean it should be in a PVE environment, even if it is just collect these, click those, etc.. If the quest is in a PvP area and it provides rewards such as tokens or reputation for mounts, pets, PvP gear then they are PvP quests pure and simple and the rewards are meant for PvP players. Having said that I would fully expect the vast majority of PvP players to do what they originally did in Illum and take turns doing the quests, because that is the quick way to do it. If this is what is being delivered it will be the same result as Illum Mk1. The only way to make it properly PvP is to make it an ownership contest with the winners only getting benefits, not a 'every 2 hours' like wintergrasp/Tol Barad in WoW but an ongoing thing that if the one side lose control their vendors will disappear and the quest can't be handed in. Doing it this way makes it more likely that people will hang around there instead of jumping in every few hours then leaving again. Oh yes also I haven't done the HK-51 quest because it forces me to group and do a HM flashpoint so no need to speak like forcing someone to go to outlaws den is any different, unless of course you believe it is a purely PVE quest, which of course it isn't.
  4. OK, I'll bite Wz unlock 7500 FP unlock 7500 OP unlock 7500 Space unlock 2900 Heroic space 2000 Medical unlocks 1500 credit unlock 3500 Together with the QoL unlocks already available that would probably work out at around $370 and that doesn't include character unlocks over 6. It also allows EA to charge 1200CC for every new FP/WZ/Op released. Effectively you would have to sub for 21/2 years or so for it to be cheaper in pure monetary terms - of course subscribers still have all those free cartel coins to spend on top of that. Just my suggestion.
  5. Now we know you are trolling, and not very good at it
  6. Jeez mate that is for one unlock only they would still have many others to buy, do some proper maths.
  7. I agree with you that is why ala carte will always be more expensive, but that is no reason not to provide the service, unlike what some in this thread have been suggesting.
  8. Except it's not a true comparison as your $150 doesn't include any unlock for FP/WZ/Ops/Space. If they provide unlocks for these it would probably be closer to $250-350 in the first year then on going unlocks would be more expensive as every 6 weeks there would be an unlock if you wanted to keep up with subscribers (you think EA would let preferred get new FP's/WZ/Ops/Space without paying extra - no chance). So to be honest your comparison, firstly ignores lockouts that make it a fair comparison and then ignores your subscriber cartel coins that most subscribers will use to unlock legacy, something non-subscribers would have to pay even more for.
  9. You forgot the 12,000 (at a minimum) cartel coins that the subscriber gets as well which means after 2 years it is still cheaper to be a subscriber.
  10. On your last point if you want to do FP's/Op's/WZ/Space I agree with you, however you seem fixated with this idea that subscribers need to have a 'better' deal. Subscriber models in my opinion are a dying breed at the moment.
  11. Black Hole and Section X would like a word with you
  12. You do get more stuff - free content unlocks, free cartel coins every month and unlimited access to WZ/FP/OP/Space. Why should most players 'desire' to be subscribers, you are looking at this with a 10 years ago mentality. Subscription is no longer the gold standard in this day and age of the choosy consumer.
  13. No, the idea of the freemium model is that a person should be able to buy what they want to improve my experience. If a preferred player were to pay $150 in unlocks and the occasional unlock for content upgrades then that is how it should work. Who gets the better deal someone paying $150 plus say $40 per year in content unlocks or someone subbed who pays up to $15 a month for unlimited access? Sure over an extended period (very extended) the subscriber pays more but they can play FP/OP/WZ/Space without any limitations, and receive a minimum of 500 cartel coins a month. The current options are not really a freemium model but a limited experience option trying to make you subscribe.
  14. All this will result in is the nerfing of crefit rewards to prrevent people from running these 'short' missions, so it's a bad idea as far as I can see.
  15. The only information they are probably holding back is the release date
  16. If only 50% of the current player base buy the expansion (assuming the ratio to subs/F2P is the same) just wait for the 'Coming to a Cartel Market soon' signs coming. After all it wouldn't be the first time BW/EA changed their mind would it?
  17. Pretty sure Skyrim doesn't charge a monthly subscription to play the full game either, yet you are comparing it to SWTOR, hmm ok.
  18. 1. You keep what you've unlocked 2. you can still use it but not create another twi'lek 3. Haven't tested it but can't believe that it wouldn't as you've already paid for it.
  19. Haven't pre-ordered and won't until I know what impact the extra 5 levels has on the game. If I'm happy I'll then order, if not I'll go preferred when it is released. I believe that 60-70% is reasonable, but if any F2P people have pre-ordered I would be surprised.
  20. That's the drawback of putting items required for individual progression in a group environment instead of an instanced version that can be soloed or classed as an H+2.
  21. I take the item with the most endurance in my profession and re-engineer it for the 'redoubt' option to add defence.
  22. My understanding on the rested xp is that if you don't log in while your account is inactive you will retain your rested xp, however if you do it will be lost and only begin to accumulate once you have paid again. I know when my credit card bounced (I forgot the date was up) I had retained my rested xp when I restarted later that day.
