  1. EDIT: Ah, my post went too late. I think it's an excellent addition because it's NOT necessary to take that airvent. You have the CHOICE, as does your opposition, to take it and hope it leads to a short cut. If it works, congrats, you've been provided a benefit. If it doesn't, you gambled and failed. It treats all players the same, regardless of faction. Because it's not an aspect of the arena that needs to be engaged, I see no problem with it.
  2. If anything this just shows how necessary 50 brackets were. He's demolishing those grays.

    BM is a joke

It's funny. We have this topic complaining that it takes too long and another topic complaining that the exploiters will be in full BM gear by the end of the week. People need to relax. While the random nature of equipment acquisition sucks, there's no reason to expect to be geared out in a week or two. Especially for an hour of two of work a day (those dailies aren't exactly time sinks).
  4. It's in the patch notes for 1.1.1. I'm guessing it'll be applied this week.
  5. Good point. Most people skip right over the cent equipment due to the costs and the slow gain of cent comms. They're criminally underused. Off to the suggestions board with you.
  6. Heh, you really think people are getting fully geared out in a week. Wow. I can't imagine how disappointed you're going to be when you get there yourself.
  7. Yes, they rushed to Battlemaster rank where they lost access to random Champ gear and have an even lower chance of acquiring equipment. Lucky them. To be honest, it's practically a punishment. Ask most Valor 60+ players. By not taking their time and acquiring a full set of Champ, they've sabotaged themselves.
  8. Force Choke first. Always. Half of them want to save their cc break for another opportunity so they let the whole animation play out. The dmg weakens the shield, prevents their dps. Once it's done, run in to finish off the shield in one or two hits while interrupting anything they send your way (either with interrupt or force leap). To be honest, sorcs are our easiest targets as a marauder...you really may want to look into the forums if sorcs are the ones you're having trouble with.
  9. I hear what you're saying, and it does suck that some servers were hit significantly harder than others. I may be optimistic, but I'm thinking they are working on a change, but they recognize that this change must be enough to correct the issues they've created with the Ilum 1.1 patch (and who knows how long it took them to develop that one). Basically, I think they're taking their time to avoid another debacle. Only time will tell. It's just unfortunate that there's no way to turn back time on the consequences that arose (canceled subscriptions, the rewards from the exploiters, etc.)
  10. I'm thinking it's down to server choice. My server is also like this. I started an alt about two weeks ago and when I returned to my main (mostly champ gear) to work on my weeklies and dailies, I was surprised to find a whole mess of new 50s to replace all the 50s I had leveled alongside in that time. Very very few Battlemasters (maybe one a match, tops) and there were plenty of people in Flashpoint gear and blues. (Shii Cho, for those curious).
  11. Malle, other players have explored that, but it's simply untrue. Has been disproven a number of times already. Also, the fix is in the patch notes for 1.1.1. I expect it'll be implemented next week, but we'll see.
  12. The tiebreaker in huttball is awesome too. Smart players see the clock ticking down, see the tied score and prioritize holding the ball. They'll tell their team to pass to the stronger members, toss guard, focus heals, knockback any opposition...it becomes a different game during that last minute and IMO it's a fun one.
  13. Yeah it's in the patch notes for 1.1.1. I'm thinking this week.
  14. Actually, it's still an opinion. His own personal belief. Also, I interpreted it a little differently. I felt he was saying that no game on the market is perfect. By extension, neither is this game. People need to stem their expectations and mind their frustration at bugs and undeveloped systems in place. The devs are working on it, they're aware of the issues and we have to decide that A) We don't mind waiting or B) to move on on to another product. But that's a choice each of us has to make individually.
  15. The term is backpedaling. And as a marauder that does well in PvP and knowing many other marauders that do well (check some of the videos and screenshots on the marauder forums here), I have to say...well, don't take it as "L2P", but consider that you may be able to improve your playstyle by doing more research and practicing more.
  16. The more I read these topics, the more I'm glad I chose a good server. I'm surprised so few of these issues arose on mine after the patch. (Shii Cho, for those curious).
  17. You're optimistic to think this will reach the people it needs to. Then again, it's probably worth the shot. Best of luck.
  18. If you search, you may find a dozen or more topics about this. The devs have been aware of it and the fix for it is in the patch notes for 1.1.1. Patience, friend.

    PVP Idling

Yeah, the ledge (if it's the one I'm thinking of) is still spawn territory. In fact, if another player gets up there, they're instantly killed. That's why you can't sit there. No melee characters could go near you.
  20. How does end-game for other MMOs work? Isn't it just taking part in timed weekly raids for PvE or reaching max rank in PvP? Well, you hit the end. This is what happens. Outside of doing your dailies and weeklies, roll an alt, play with friends, or do something else with your time. I'm not sure why this is surprising to people. Does the game have a small end-game? By most comparisons, yes. But I can't recall any newly launched MMO in the last few years who had months of end-game content upon release.
  21. It's been in the 1.1.1 patch notes for some time now. They are aware, they caught it, the fix is in. It'll be applied soon. Dunno why they didn't make it a hotfix (for non-cynical reasons) but at least they caught it.
  22. No dev posts yet, but there are other customer service responses. From what the players could discuss, most people (and I agree) feel the difficulty lies in trying to regulate this sort of behavior. Arranging for an honest fight club between factions is acceptable (this happens in other MMOs and falls in line with pvp considerations). In order to stop this, every accusation would require lengthy video proof and substantial reports from a large number of players. Anything without hard evidence would simply be denied by those taking part in these actions. I can see Bioware leaning on the side that finds this acceptable. It's also something anyone can effortlessly take part in (apply buffs to member of your faction) without joining an ops group. And it also doesn't take place on every server (it doesn't on mine, Shii Cho). Feel free to screenshot a response if you get one. The more information the better.
  23. http://i.imgur.com/chI7l.jpg I'm a little surprised no one in your guild has heard about this. That image (and the two others) have gotten circulated quite a bit. As you can imagine, they've led to some serious discussion.
  24. So...you're unaware of the fact that people who don't even know each other across the two factions are organizing groups in order to farm valor and a customer service rep said that was acceptable? My thought is, yes, you're okay.
