  1. I'm going to assume this is the counterpart of the Imperial Officer, if I am correct this class would be far superior to the IO. Perhaps something like the Republic Field Marshal could be more appropriate? (along with all the armor changes, spec changes etc etc)
  2. The Imperial Officer needs to have something unique. Like the above posts said, what you have proposed is similiar to the IA. I would like to throw out a few suggestions to help move this along however. 1. Since officers and tacticians work with coordinating and planning, why not make one of the AC's be a part buff-debuff option? Abilities to improve armor ratings, damage output, reduce enemy defences, etc etc (I know alot of classes have these kinds of abilities, but it would not be difficult IMO to make something unique). The other spec for this same AC could be DPS. The other could be DPS and Healing. 2. The AC names don't sound very officery. My suggestion: Base class would obviously be the officer, but perhaps a Tactician (for the Buff-Debuff and DPS spec) and a Coordinator (I don't like this AC name, but it's all I could come up with at the time). 3. The weapon's they use I also think could use some work. In game, I have never seen an authentic officer use an assault cannon. Why implement that now ? To me, this would seem more appropriate, I don't mean to cut down your ideas, but I like authenticity. To start you could probably just have a blaster pistol and a generator, but for one AC perhaps you could still use your pistol, but instead of a generator you have access to a Vibrosword. (I've seen many officer classes in game use these, so to me it fits.) Of course the Vibrosword would only be used for certain abilities, this would probably be the Co-ordinator AC. (I know im running with my own ideas, but humor me. I have always wanted an officer.) The other AC you could use the blaster rifle and a generator/shield. 4. The names of the Spec's also to me need some tweaking to sound more authentic. The First AC: First Spec: Apothecary is fine. Second, instead of Sentry, (Officers don't do that) perhaps something like Field Intelligence? Subterfuge could work as well for the third spec, but I think something along the lines of Sabotage. I know they are similar, but hey. The Second AC, (I think Stealth DPS doesn't sound very good, to my knowledge, officers don't stealth ) Watcher sounds too much like the Imperial Intelligence people . Can't come up with an alternate atm. The Reconossiance spec is fine. (Could be the Buff-Debuff spec if you liked what I proposed, if not just stick with the DPS) Surveillance sounds fine. Subterfuge: Sabotage again. I don't mean to be offensive to you or your ideas in any way shape or form with this post. I apologize if you did take offence to anything I suggested or anything I thought should be changed.
  3. Officer Class, plain and Simple. That is the only thing I REALLY want to see for a future class. This was an area I think BioWare completely overlooked, I know for a fact I would want to be the one organizing the next daring invasion of Coruscant, or the defence of Balmorra from the invading Republic. I would be content to even just bomb a planet from a battle cruiser... The Officer could definetly open up the role for a Buff-Debuff class, since they work on the strategic end of things, Armor boosts sound like a good idea, offensive tactics for damage boosts. And all through that, it's pretty class-authentic. As secondaries, we need the Imperial Soldier and the Republic Spy.
  4. I went through all 7 pages and NOBODY suggested this! People! You missed a very, very big glaring hole in storylines were missing! we need an Officer Class! Who wouldn't want to be the Next Admiral Ackbar or the next Grand Moff of the imperial military? Your the strategiest, the planner, you organize the defences of ENTIRE PLANETS! (For the strategists among us this should be VERY appealing) Story Line should be pretty obvious for both sides. I won't go into details about the class because I have found suggestions that are a little vague are the ones Developers like to work with. And for the future, please suggest classes that are actually feasible. I saw only a handful of ideas that could even have the slightest chance of making it into our game. BioWare looks at these kind of forums and probably goes "Oh boy, well they're no help"
  5. The thing we have to remember when adding new planets is this: Why are the Empire, Republic and other factions fighting for it? There has to be specific reasons in order to create good story line, etc etc. I see a couple reasons: 1. Same as Alderaan. When you think about it they are very similar, but then again why are we fighting over Alderaan? I personally don't know. Reason 2: The bubble technology of the Gungans. Think about the things you could do with it, the Empire especially. That tech could be PRICELESS. Underwater fortresses, away from Ion cannons, orbital strikes, etc. You think about it.
  6. @ Above: POD RACING! YES!!! The thing that bugs me in this game the most is they missed an Officer Class! They missed the opportunity for players to have their own Moff Tarkin or Admiral Ackbar storyline! In Tor, I want nothing more then to play as a Moff... About the suggestions you made (Ones they didn't already implement) Damage meter: meh. Mail on Ship: YES! I forget the other ones, my memory isn't great. -Cheers to you on your quest for these changes
  7. My Personal wants (not in the list above) would be Utapau III, Rhen Var (Battlefront), Mygeeto (Battlefront2). The ones in the list I want are: Yavin 4 Geonosis Endor And Maybe Shola....
  8. When I hear the Lord, Lady Lachris or Lady Zhorrid or Lady Zash, I don't picture a Sith wrapped in the darkside with all it's power at their disposal. I see a queen or a princess, dressed in bright flashing colors of pink and blue, not the Red, Black, Gray and Purple that are accustomed to the Sith. The Lord title is meant to be more intimidating and imposing, and fear is the first emotion of the Dark Side. So in general, I don't think it's nessecary, but should be an option none the less
  9. I think we shoul have a cycle yes. I also agree with MajicMyst that we need weather. (I'm going to get flamed for this) if i'm not mistaken there was rain in WoW, though I only played the 10 day free trial I thought that was a nice addition to the feel. I would like to see something similar in ToR
  10. This idea is like ore, GOLD ore. It's valuable, malleable, and has potential. But it's crude, unrefined. With some tweaking here and there, it could be a nice update. As much as I hate people trying to turn this into SWG, this is something I can get onboard with. -Signed
  11. Why do they build bases so close to each other? simple! Logistics, supplies, manpower, etc etc. Take a look at the clone wars, if you looked at many of the planetary scenarios, ONE SINGLE BATTLE determined whether that planet would remain with the Republic or the CIS (CIS = Seperatists, General Grevious, etc for those never played the BattleFront series.) If they placed their bases far apart, that would mean more fuel and food requirements for BOTH sides. It would take a MONUMENTAL amount of time for either side to colonize and set up a STRONG military presence all over a planet anways, for the Galactice republic it would have been in impossibility to build up mass defenses on every system. (Maybe not for teh Seps, they could produce billions of droids a day) Logistically, they could only setup 1 base, maybe 2 or 3 per planet simply because they lacked the resources to go beyond that. Alderaan however, I will say the setup does not make sense. All the houses in one local area? Lolwuuuuuut? Anyways enough ragging. I would like to see more areas of planets yes, but is it realistic? No. Probably not even in our lifetimes.
  12. Datacron system is fine as is. However I would reccomend making at least one on the start planets a little easier to spot. Ord Mantell: Never found one just playing. Same went for Tython and Hutta. Korriban though, HA! If you can't at least notice one of the shiny boxes we have a problem. But overall, it's fine as is. it's a Distraction and Diversion, which is by all measure a good thing
  13. Space bar was a mistake, to a point. You should only be able to skip through the chat if you have completed the quest more then once. Call me harsh, but BioWare put ALOT of time, effort and money into voice overs, quests, and story line and these players who want to RUSH GO GO GO are going to spit in their faces because of it. the Ungrateful people we have in society are sickening. If I was BioWare, I would completely disable the space bar option if I saw alot of the people who hate the story and say "Chew on this morons." But that's just me. Sorry for the rant but I hate society as a whole 99% of the time.
  14. I'm sorry if new class suggestions arn't allowed in this thread. If so, ignore this post A New Officer class. We've all seen in game Generals, Moffs and tacticians, but we can't play them. They said they created the classes to give you your own personalised story version of Obi Wan, Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, etc. Well, I want my personal story line of Moff Tarkin/Admiral Ackbar. I hope this picture is clear enough. (Examples ig would be Talos Drellik or Malavai Quinn.)
  15. Republic may be in appearance the underdog side, but in all the servers im on the truly talented players are often drawn to that side. They enjoy the challenge. In massive PvP battles on Tatooine, Alderaan, and Ilum, the republic almost ALWAYS had the better tacticians, players and overall coordination. in open PvP, the Republic alot of the times dominates the Empire. However, in your statement PvP was not the whole point. The "Good is dumb" persepctive you talked about really only goes for the ignorant/not fully knowledged. Isn't it, when we look at history, that the side perceived as GOOD always wins? Really the thing is here people need to look at the Republic from other persepctives. I know for a fact the republic community is more friendly then Imp ones. Is this aken to less people? Maybe. Sometimes the better side is not the one with largest number.
  16. I like this idea. However I think you should only be able to do these FP's with your companions AFTER you have completed the normal FP with a group. Doing it with more then 1 companion at a time would be nice, get your whole crew out for some Military exercise. This would also help players like me who like to read the chat. Often times when I do FP's people tell me "HIT SPACE BAR LET'S GO GO GO GO GO!" I like reading the chat and getting the storyline behind the FP, and in most cases doing it with other players often does not provide that opportunity.
  17. @ Above: Agreed! Hopefully that would be optional because then they would jusrt complain about that too. Anyways back to topic. Do I like Orbital Stations? Yes Do I think they are nessecary/part of lore? Yes Do I like the running from the ship to the shuttle and all the loading screens inbetween? No Could there be changes made that allow them to have more purpose and make them less of a nuisance? Yes. Instead of scrapping the things, just make changes to them to make them a little more enjoyable
  18. When it comes to the Imperial Soldier vs Republic Trooper, there are key differences which could make the class plausible. The Republic Trooper is like the Elite commando of the republic military, doing the high risk missions, etc etc. The Imperial Soldier could be nearly the opposite. Starting as a recruit in the Imp military, they are nothing special, a grunt that is what could make it unique, your ascension to becoming prominent in the Empire. Although NPC's often call on the priveleged and the talented to do their tasks, a soldier is better then nobody correct? Republic SIS vs Imp Agent would be very very similar this I do agree on, though it would not be impossible to conjur up a unique story. But in the End, I just want an Officer class...
  19. *sigh* Sorry OP, but I read this and I just shake my head. However this is not the most outrageous Idea I have ever heard, but it's up there. In the future, if you're going to make a class suggestion try and do something feasible, something fitting and star-wars-original. My firm, resolute and resolved response is a resounding No. About the person that suggested the Engineer and the Beast Master. Engineer: Sorry, No. Given the plot and the already existing classes, you simply CANNOT combine Sith power and the techy imperial military spectrums. It just doesn't work. Beast Master: I also will have to give a No to this one. I like the idea of summoning creatures to fight by your side, but again this prospect is simply not reasonable for SWTOR.
  20. I've said this on many forums, and I shall say it again. Imperial Soldier and Republic Spy. You know what they mirror. In Addition, an Officer class. Storyline, well you run with it Armor: Medium. Primary stat: Cunning/Aim depending on your AC. One Spec is a DPS/Buff-Debuff, the other is DPS/heals. Primary resource: Guile or something related to the power of the mind. Like BH, Meter goes up, you can't use as many abilities. For many strategists energy and adrenealine are detrimental to planning and strategizing. When your amped up, you can't always think straight. -My two cents for some new classes.
  21. Imperial Soldier and Republic Spy. Counterparts of the opposite faction people with different story lines. Class I most want to see however is an Officer Class. Storyline could be one of a billion things. I see this as a good idea because: Who doesn't want to have their own warship or be the strategist of a brilliantly executed attack or defence or bomb planets from the safety of Cruisers? Also, given they do the coordinating, it offers an excellent opportunity for a Buff-Defuff role. Those reasons unto themselves would get me excited over it. Advanced classes would likely be a DPS/healing, or a DPS/buff-debuff. Primary stat would be Cunning/Aim as dictated by your AC, and primary resource would be Guile or something intellectually related. Like BH, the meter would rise as you use abilities, and as it goes up you are locked out of high-costing ones. (Adrenaline, for strategists anyways, is not always your friend. It makes you do irrational strategic moves.) Those are the only plausible ones I can come up with at this time.
  22. @flyersfan I completely agree. Bounty Hunter =/= an Imperial Trooper. Nor does a Smuggler = a republic agent. These are stories that must be told! For the good of the MMO and the overall lore, they are must haves. For the OP, Race Specific classes are a no-no. Galatic Trader? When I hear that I see a legitimate enterprise smuggler...
  23. What's with all the silly ideas? Pandas? Give something for BioWare to actually look at. Anyways for my suggestions, As many stated before a Republic Agent type of thing and an Imperial Soldier. These being mirrors of their opposite faction counterparts. In addition, an Officer class.(I saw I wasn't the first to suggest this, so i'll give you acknowledgement) I made a thread about this so feel free to check it out sometime, it's the only one i've made. Anyways, Who doesn't want to be commanding a cruiser or be the strategist behind the next big invasion? Heck, I could get to bomb coruscant from a battleship as an officer, what more could you ask? As for a combat role: one spec would likely go into DPS/healing, much like the operative or commando. The Other would be a Buff-Debuff/DPS probably. Armor: Medium. Primary stat: Cunning/Aim, Likely depending on your advanced class. Primary resource would probably be Guile or something similar. Much like the BH's heat, the higher it goes the worse off you are. The higher it goes, the LESS abilities you can use. (Let's face it, in the heat of battle Adrenalline doesn't always work in your favor. clouds your judgement.) Weapons really could range anything from single pistols to rifles to vibroswords. Again, likely depending on your advanced class. The Storyline is something I could only begin to fathom. I'll let the experts (BioWare and LA) figure that out.
  24. I too played SWBF2, and the space combat blew my mind! (Aside from the fact the CIS never got those dohnut shaped space stations -.- and the lack of interior space) You run with this idea, add a couple features and son, you're looking at the most innovative Warzone SINCE the Battlefront series. Speaking of Battlefront, LET LUCAS ARTS KNOW THERE IS A DEMAND FOR BATTLEFRONT 3! IT HAS BEEN 7 YEARS!
  25. No voice overs? WHAT! BLARGH! The reason the majority of us bought this game is because of it's uniqueness and the fact it specifically strayed away from the traditional cookie-cutter format. I like the voice overs, they add a great deal of depth and emotion. I was literally torn when I had to choose between Khem and Andronikos on Tatooine, and I felt bad afterwards for the companion I didn't choose. From what i see in your suggesetions, ToR just simply isn't you gig. It's more orientated towards RP and Lore by nature. Don't change the foundation that made it so unique!
