  1. Bad.

I'm going crazy. Almost EVERYONE who mentions the Jedi Consular companion Tharan Cedrax types in Theran. ThEran. Its spelt ThAran ffs.

I swear to God, if I hear someone else type in Theran Cedrax without the intention of annoying me, their peaceful, unmolested ride on PVP servers will come to a screeching halt.

omg who cares about grammer!?!?! it is an internet forums(facepalm)

  2. since there is pvp arena's there also should be a little treat for that pve player you can enter for a queue and you will be a group of 2-4 you just go thorough loads of mobs and use teamwork to overcome the obstacles with many rounds of challenging mobs!!!! Of course you get a reward. But I have no idea.

First of all do you guys like this idea?? and what reward should it bring???

  3. Between the ME3 ending fiasco and people leaving SW:TOR do you think Bioware has much of a future? How can they get back on the right track if not? Or stay on the right track if they are?

Poll on the Bioware forums of 90% of fans wanting a better ending with 40k votes:

stop trolling BW does a great job of games :) you can always just leave you know :D

  4. (I'm level 50 with full champions gear)

    1. "Cover Pulse" has about a 60% failure rate for me (by that I mean that it goes through the animation, but the enemies are still standing right next to me).

I already figured out that it will never work on the Huttball carrier or on enemies that are cc'ed - but what other effects make people immune to it?

    2. "Legshot" - frequently fails as well.

Shot hits, but target never slows down or uses cc breaker. Since it is a snare, it should not be affected by resolve - what am I missing here?

    3. Is there no way to make "Evicerate" or "Headshot" work in pvp?

(I've been trying since December, lol)

    4. Same question about "Diversion" and "Distraction" - unlike evicerate, I can click those but do they have any effect in pvp?

    5. Any defense or damage mitigation for a sniper vs. Sith Lightning or Jedi "rock throwing" (don't know what it is called)?

I'm tired of losing half of my 16K HPs everytime I get attacked by these classes. :)

    6. Any way to outdamage a healer?

I tried every possible combination of dots, direct damage and cc. But 9/10 times, the healer will survive (and I end up out of energy, or worse - dead).

    7. Any strategy to kill a stealh user?

Seems to me, whenever they are close to losing, they just disappear, heal up and attack again. Anything a sniper can do about that?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

are you sure about 6.I am a sage healer and i find it hard to outheal a sniper be sure to interrupt but then again I dont have healing trance.

  5. Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street recently posted an insight into what Blizzard thought they did right and wrong when developing WoW's most recent expansion.

Yes, yes, I know....I can almost hear the fanboys reaching for that "Post Reply" button to feverishly type something along the lines of: "This isn't WoW!!!! You're Ghostcrawler in disguise, here to just try to get people back to WoW!!!". Blah, blah. Sigh.

Firstly, yes, I know this isn't WoW. Secondly, no, I'm not trying to get people away from this game (unlike certain fanboys and girls in these forums). So don't get your panties in a bunch. If you can't read this with an open mind, then perhaps you shouldn't be reading it at all. Just for a few minutes, put aside any prejudices you may have about WoW, and try to prevent yourself from hitting that "Post Reply" button before fully reading and understanding Ghostcrawler's post.

The fact is that Bioware hold Blizzard's product in high regard. So any development concerned with Blizzard's product will possibly give Bioware pause for thought on how they continue development with SWTOR.

    http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/4519250

Anyhow, below are some snippets which caught my attention, and I think could possibly end up applying to SWTOR in some ways too. Just ignore the fact that he mentions their next expansion (I left those bits in purely to give his words enough context).

How could this apply to TOR?: Well, the planets do essentially end up "scattering" players much like the different zones in Cataclysm did. He also touches on the subject of "exploration" (the bit I emboldened) and how he thinks it is important to ensure that giving the players opportunities to explore is quite important.

The co-founders of Bioware also talked pre-launch about the need for exploration in TOR and how that activity is important. But some complaints have remarked how there isn't enough opportunity to do that at the moment.

The above applies to TOR in some respects too. Some complaints about TOR have been centred on the fact that progression through the "zones" (planets) feels a little too linear, whilst not providing enough opportunities to just do other things, like explore.

Blizzard have obviously realised that one of the keys to remaining successful is to not ignore any one particular playerbase too much. There have been complaints that perhaps Bioware are currently forsaking one type of playstyle (i.e. those who like to continue progressing their "end game" characters) in favour of focusing more on another type of player (i.e. those who like "rolling alts").

How does the above apply to TOR?: Well again, Ghostcrawler touches on getting players out into the world, and to give them the opportunity to see others whilst out there too. Instead of allowing players to "portal" about too much. One of the recent complaints about TOR has been how the game "splits" up the playerbase a little too much, giving the feeling of "empty worlds".

He also obviously realises that "fresh" gameplay is needed, and it should be offered in ways that don't feel too "grindy". Some could say that's what TOR is already doing to some regard. But one thing he does touch on, that TOR isn't offering at the moment, is the opportunity to get involved in different and yet interesting NPC factions.

And lastly, he shows an understanding that getting content out as fast as possible (within reason) is of paramount importance, and not to wait too long before getting it to the servers.

Now, no doubt some of Ghostcrawler's post contains moments which may make one want to say "Well duh!", but on the other hand it's hard not to ignore the honesty and truth in his post.

Like I said in the title of this thread, it's food for thought. :)

    Flame away.....

the devs could use this as an advantage and steal more of WoW players :D

  6. you have many WoW players as your customers, why you pick the same day for maintenance as Blizzard does for WoW?

Since Blizzard have the Tuesday for many years you must be fully aware of that fact.

I found it ridiculousness to intentionally make sure that customers of both games are downed at the same day/time.

From the technical part there is no reason to have Tuesday as only possible option, so what is your intention in doing so?

It would be a nice act of customer service to pick another day for maintenance in the future.

Hopefully common sense and logic has the power to guide you thru this no brainer :)

that is where skyrim comes in :D

  7. Hi,

Firstly, I love this game and this isn't really a rant or a whine but it has become increasingly notable that "Standard" sized servers really means PVP'ing against your own faction (Because there aren't enough of the other to fight) or standing in Fleet LFG (which generally takes longer than actually completing the HM).

Logging on my server during the day using the /e prefix on the who list will show less than 100 people server wide (At this point people will whine that I didn't say which server, it doesn't matter I've tried several and they r all the same) During prime time yes server wide you will see over 100, on the fleet perhaps 50-60 people, about 20-30 of those being lvl 50.

March it is now, and 20-30 level 50's.. while I expected a wait for people to catch up to level 50 surely after 3 months the population should be booming? Well that's the problem isn't it. The population IS booming they r just all spread out. Not only can we not LFG planet wide on individual servers but there are soooo many servers to begin with that the population is now spread way too thin. The bustling central hubs (fleet) for players are more like ghost towns these days and god forbid u log in during the daytime, yet there is no mention of merging the "light" and "Standard" population servers.

It would make far more sense now to Merge the 45 servers, create 23 and double the amount of people wanting to do HM's, OP's etc and open new servers as the population increases. Leaving it to fix itself, 2-3 months maybe more is population suicide, people aren't gonna wait. Warhammer online went down this road and then went free to play because there was so little people playing on each server the term Massively Multiplayer was more Slight Group of People. Bioware Mythic took over Warhammer online didn't they? It's almost too coincidental.

Warhammer Online was a good game too but lack of server population killed the fun, killed the WAR and Killed the Subscriptions. Please don't let swtor suffer the same, please merge the servers.

    Thank you :)

No,mergeing won't happen because they dont have data unsubscribe and wait for transfers.Or reroll to tomb of freedon nadd like me :)

  8. the whole point of having a decision system is for repercussions for your actions well.. make quest decisions carry over to other quests.. it feels very underwhelming being evil and slaying everyone if it doesnt have results.

for instance i just killed some selonion leader on corellia well it would be nice if had i let him live he would play a part in another questline or something , theres no point in a alignment system when there are no drawbacks to slaying everyone you come across and being evil.

and i mean not for a few quests it has impact but for a broader more epic plot presentation.

No.they need to fixx bugs more

  9. I think it's one of the biggest problems with SWTOR...this is supposed to be an MMO, but it plays much more like a single player RP game. "Shouldn't be a high priority"? If people are putting their subs on hold like I am...I think that's a pretty big problem.

Standard can be pretty bad as well. My server almost always says "Standard"....but it's a ghost town in MMO terms.

Questing you are lucky if you ever see another player. Fleet hovers around 40-50 people. It will hit 70 on the weekends.

200 would be cool, just doesn't happen on my server.

yeah i agree davieks estate says standard at prime time but only has 40 people at fleet repub and empire has 80 ish

  10. Might be that it's vice versa like I said and that Republic is more populated.

Even if you're on a light server then it's a lot of peoples faults for jumping into the servers that weren't guarantee to succeed at launch.

at launch all servers were FULL and heavy,it is not there fault and when BW increased the server cap it all changed to light and standard/heavy/very heavy/full. please research before you post. Also just because your server is fine does not mean other are good to.

  11. So in another thread Mr. Reid asked for suggestions to improve world pvp. Please if you post here don't call anyone ideas stupid

    1. make ops group smaller so coordination is a must
    2. multiple dynamic objectives that pop at same time so zergs arent the best strategies

One thing I liked in Shadowbane was farming with guildies and protecting our farming spot. Lots of fun fighting over those precious spots

    i dont agree L2P

  12. Hey as you can see the title says it all. I do not think that age should matter when it comes to hardcore ops or WZ when that comes, and of course not when you want to join a guild. Im aged 13 so im qualified to play this game but i got serious issues with joining a guild. Almost every time i say my age i get kicked or no invite. I think that is wrong. Some ppl says that you gotta be mature and understand and write good english. But maybye i can and im only 13 but i still get no invite. I want YOUR thoughts on this.

    Carzem

PS: I play on the EU server Scepter of Ragnos currently lvl 41 Sorcerer named Wantzer.

you are in that stage of life when you think you are mature but you are not,you are still a kid.Just wait a little while.

  13. Seriously. I can't force throw or force push or force run. I hate this wz. I attempt to leave whenever I see that I'm stuck with it. It's totally based around two or three classes, and not all the classes. It's like someone built an entire warzone around the skilset of three classes, putting all other classes at a huge disadvantage.

suggestions: I hate huttball. That is all.

l2p you are not really that good i suggest you keep playing

  14. It has nothing to do with gear or 1.2 or anything else that seems to be the hot topic of the day/week. It has to do with the following.

Kill the Healer! Good tactic right?

Well I'm one of those Healers that everyone is trying to kill, which everyone can thanks to having way more abilities to stun/interrupt/CC me then I can possibly break out of. Lets remember also that these are Warzones. Not 1 vs. 1's. So don't even consider bringing in theories about what to do.

But here is what grinds my gears to no end and makes me quit.

In the heat of the match, here I am (and others just like me) healing our collective rears off keeping people alive so they can do *** ever it is their doing all while trying to avoid getting splattered all over the place by the enemy team.

    End of the match...

MVP awards, win or loss, ZERO

Unless you somehow DON'T top the chat as just a few minutes ago happened to me. Missed the top by 1k healing... and THAT healer got 5 MVP awards.

Haven't been in a winning WZ since Thursday. Have been healing my butt off keeping people alive or pulling my hair out trying to get into LINE IF SIGHT to heal...

    ZERO mvp awards.

Who cares right? Well *I* care.

Stop insta leaving the warzones and throw your Healers some tiny amount of love.

i agre when i heal i want mvp because without me everyone would be ****

  15. Let's get a list of everything that's wrong with PvP in this game....

Alderaan WZ - BW brags about their biometrics system and monitoring every credit that is traded...well use that system and look at Alderaan. 90% of the time the first team that caps 2 terminals wins the match. That little 3sec bike timer didn't solve anything.

Huttball WZ - Due to server unbalance the Empire is sick of this WZ cause it's what we play 70% of the time.

Open world pvp - non-existent, almost a joke to even mention. No incentive to open world pvp anywhere, especially off of Ilum

No rated WZ - how a game can launch without this is beyond understandable. You can have the best 4man premade, but when you get grouped with 4 people that don't know their class or running around in green/blue gear...it's makes playing the already unbearable WZ's, unbearable.

So now that we've covered what a joke pvp is, let's cover HM FP. Done them to death, no reason to them. Operations, cleared NM on both, full Rakata set. Where's the incentive, let a lone the effort of BW to keep this game a live?

if you don't like it then leave or play your class better lol

  16. I'm playing an Imperial Agent Operative on Goluud Coridoor, trying to level through pvp, but I CAN'T seem to win anything. I've been on losing teams for 2 days now, That's 2 whole days around 15-20 games a day and I lose them all. We had one good day a few weeks back were we won all the games. The basic run of things is we are all getting killed while the reps seem to all be becoming invincible and Immortal. Are the reps overpowered? Does Bioware really love the Republic that much?

maybe you need l2pprob because you are not very good,if you don't like it you don't have to play it!

  17. Hi all,

Have done a bit of searching but it's hard to find good up to date info...

Looking for the busiest server, which seems to be Tomb of FN or Red Eclipse, but I'm gonna be rolling a Republic toon until I can transfer my Empire toons over, so for now I don't want a massively empire biased server.

Any experiences to share? I don't mind if it's PvP or PvE tbh as long as its busy on Republic side so grouping is easy!!

    Cheers :D

Tomb of freedon nadd has 250* at fleet prime time pvp server and the rep to sith is 1-1.5 sith

  18. #1 cross-server pvp

    - it could be lower que times for everyone, and it would never be republic dominating imperial on a server anymore.

like right now, I just got out of work (work overnight, as a bouncer) and I don't wanna pvp because I know that republic premades dominate my server's pvp right now.

#2 why are pre-mades in a different type of que than the solo'ers.

-I can KINDA understand that the game would never be full if pvp stayed on only it's server.

But seriously, because of the lack of cross-server pvp I'm considering on re-rolling to a different server.

    (How's 'The fatman server'?)

fatman server gets to heavy very often but tom of freedon nadd EU pvp has more population when fatman is light tomb freedon nadd is standard when fatman heavy tomb freedon nadd is heavy/very heavy

  19. Am I going to continue playing?

    Yes.

    Why?

    Because it's fun.

Seriously, all this hate/love speech is getting ridicolous. People like the game or they don't.

I like it. I play it. End of story.

    It's a *********** game. Don't like it? Don't play it.

some people express there opinions why they don't want to play in hopes of it being acknowledged and so they can play this game it has good potential!
