  1. Good, I'm slightly not old then.
  2. Plus back in the olden days, you had to manually go through all those doors to OPs and FPs. So I guess you could say part of the reason why I still prefer to spend my "waiting time" driving in circles on fleet is old habits:D
  3. Ah..I see I didn't make myself very clear. Before KotFE pretty much everything I did on my multiple playthroughs benefitted my whole legacy. I'm not saying that playing through the story of Makeb or SoR felt fresh on my 10th alt and neither did the daily areas, but the knowledge of every pass counting towards max rep and the associated rewards for my whole legacy made it more bearable and I would've done all of the dailies at least once for story reasons anyway. So all in all I completed all of the rep grinds very quickly and was done with it. Everything was completed and unlocked for all of my many chars. Now if I want to unlock/complete everything for every char I'll have to gather enough alliance crates for 10+ alts that are currently (very slowly) going through KotFE to hit max affection, do all of the HSF on all of them and do all of the recruitment missions on all of them...No thanks!
  4. This describes my own feelings towards KotFE in relation to the other expansions most accurately. Another thing that made both Makeb and to a lesser extent SoR easier for me was the legacy based rep grinds. While playing through it with another alt I always had the feeling that it was benefitting my legacy. Now with KotFE I have exactly 1 char that did all of the SF related stuff and the recruitment missions. None of my other chars did any of it.
  5. I'm sure they're dropping below 50M once a day or so, but I really really didn't want to spend that much time in front of the GTN waiting for that to happen. Getting to just enjoy the item in the time it would've taken to get a better deal was worth the extra 15M:)
  6. Got one for 55mil on TRE. The cheapest one I've seen there to date was going for 40mil but since then the prices have climbed up to and over 50mil again. Got a lighning tuning for it as well, which was 20mil then. Now they're above 30mil. I know that some dislike the vents in general, but I really like the proportions of this saber. Due to it's design it doesn't look too oversized IMO.
  7. I figure you're not playing multiple MMOs or have left and returned to one? I do it all the time (except for SWTOR) and mostly sub to the one I'm picking up again for however long.
  8. So talking about returning players, you believe that BW will make more money from them paying for transfers than granting them free (very cheap) transfers to make it more likely that they'll become subs again and spend more money down the line? At least then I could understand your argument. I don't agree at all, but still.
  9. As I said in another post, with some posters here I really get the feeling that they just want to see others punished for the capital crimes of not keeping tabs on a game they're not currently playing or leaving it at some point at all. BW: Ok guys, if we don't increase our revenue by next quarter, EA will sadly pull the plug on us. We could possibly make it happen by granting returning players who're stuck on dead servers free transfers to healthy ones and therefor increasing the chances of them becoming subscribers again. So what do you say? FORUM: NEVAAAARRRRR!!!!! MAKE THEM SUFFER!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE DON'T WANT THAT SCUM!!!!!!!!!!
  10. No, but I can blame BW for dead servers being there in the first place. When we had this situation shortly after launch and later, with the demise of the APAC servers, BW merged those servers and imo they should do so yet again. But as long as they don't it's not unreasonable to provide a free or at the very least cheap way of getting off dead server onto healthy ones. Again with this "suck it up or leave" attitude...No, if I had to pay a gazillion of CC just to have my legacy on a server that supports the same quality of service others are enjoying I'd certainly not be interested. Also you seem to think that this game has an untold number of subscribers so that missing out on all the potential revenue from returning players on those servers was no big deal. It is not so. IMO everyone remotely interested in the long term success and therefor ability to continue playing this game should be in favour of measures that can help to bring more paying customers on board.
  11. I wanted to try it with a melee character, but sadly I didn't even get to the droid as the only char that was eligible has only one 208 piece and the rest are blues and greens below that..
  12. What level of gear are you using if I may ask? The probes have very low HP and should die after 2-3 attacks so even if you're not that fast in targeting them you should have plenty of time to kill them even without your comp.
  13. There are still companies using XP, but they're paying M$ a truckload of money to get further updates.
  14. The only way I could see them committing to either of the possible upgrades was if this game was wildly successful and one of EA's major renenue sources. Well it's not the case and I don't see the necessary ambition nor the investments needed to get it there.
  15. I don't know if BW does it as I have never quit, but Blizzard for example sure asks players to return to the game. I bet BW would want the same or at least they should. Some players might do as you propose, but I doubt that the majority of them would. I can only tell you that when faced with the decision of either playing on a dead server or paying $10 per char in addition to my sub just to gain access to all of the services that require a certain level of population, I'd choose neither and just be on my way again. I get the feeling that some of you only want to punish those players for *snoozing* or leaving in the first place, when it should be in everyones interest, at least if you're invested into this game and want to keep playing indefinitely, to have as many of them as possible return to keep the game on EA's scope when it comes to deciding on their budget.
  16. Hell I'd even pay another $150 if they chose to release another CE for it...IF the story was at least a mix of Makeb and SoR. By that I mean factional story arcs with 1 or 2 class specific missions strewn in. As for episodic releases, this is obviously a personal preferrence, but getting the story piecemeal for me is like watching a movie on TV(something I never do) where there is advertising every 30mins destroying the tension build up. I'd rather play through a continuous story and take a break when I see fit.
  17. And that's why I'm in favour of free transfers off dead servers:D Sorry if that didn't come out clearly in my last post.
  18. I completely agree when it comes to dead servers, but all other transfers should stay as they are imo. I know of no other MMO that does free transfers for each and everyone and most charge double the fee SWTOR does.
  19. While I find it highly doubtful that any of those will be the successor to this game in any real sense, I find it was high time we got some more (hopefully single player) SW games. Since the devs are neither CDPR or NaughtyDog I'll leave my hype settings at carefully optimistic for now though.
  20. Did a quick search and probably found them in: C:\User\*insert_name*\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings\ There are .ini files here and another sub directory called "GUIProfiles" which contains .xml files. EDIT: Should be the .xml files as they match the names of the profiles you can load in the interface editor.
  21. That's just wrong. The game was advertised as a story driven MMO. It featured a much higher quality of storytelling compared to other MMOs, but the release cycle remained a classic one: Expansions which were part story part repeatable (group-)content followed by some filler content until the next expansion. Only with 4.0 did it shift to an episodic(monthly) release cadence, focusing on story alone.
  22. Of course not, haven't you heard? Credit sellers are not the annoying scum you always made them out to be. They're actually good for the game and a "company" who's entire business model is based on breaking the ToS of an online game is totally trustworhy.
  23. Until they decide to do something about the servers themselves, this would be an excellent idea!
  24. Yeah, you could definitely have worded your OP better, but quite a few us here understand your frustrations and share at least some of your concerns. And kudos for coming back and typing this. The ones who're truly just out to stir up trouble pretty much never do something like this.
  25. Anyone who doesn't want to run the hightened risk of falling prey to a IT based attack on their personal data and/or bank account and don't want to get permabanned perhaps? So I'd say quite a lot.
