  1. Tried one wz and was frustrated...not by delay but by piss poor targetting. Tab target dorsnt work, and clicking on the person wouldnt work, either. This, imo is far worse than delays...delays mean eventually the ability will go off...standing there with my thumb up my *** watching that one guy spam his lightning and not being able to target him at all is just pure fail. Next weeks patch better fix this.
  2. WoW since first week of launch...combat logs are a must have, the only way this game will ever have truly challenging content is to have this feature IN game, otherwise there will be no way to make corrections on the fly. Out of game logs are too tedious. People who have a problem with this need to stop being bad. In all the years Ive used Recount, the only times people ever get called out is by being herpaderps, dps well below tank for example. Being last place dps but above tank and enough to down content, no one cares. Seriously, this should be a no brainer. Look how much flack this game gets because every other mmo that matters has this feature.
  3. Yet, you bought the game and here you still are.
  4. This is true, at first....but after a couple alts, youve seen it all and the 3rd time thru you will already have a preferred path anyway. Well I suppose thats an improvement, and I wish this game had multiple options, too, but Cataclysm went very linear as well...big mistake.
  5. Never heard of it, and to be honest, his opinions were mostly reasonable and valid, however, the following thread just appeared to be a mish-mash of mmo hoppers lamenting what could have been and hoping the Next One will be the one...with that Next One being GW2 by all counts. After GW2, I wonder what it will be. All in all though, not going to disagree much, theres alot I would like to see improved in this game but everyone has a differing opinion of what fun is, anyway.
  6. I know for a fact I have lost a 6-6 Voidstar match when defending first.
  7. Free to play turns into Payto Win, so no thanks...I will bail any game going to that model. That being said, some are better than others about implementing it, but bottomline, dont expect companion pet and silly mount sales to subsidize your playing time, anything QoL will cost you, and it will get worse from there.
  8. Wait, when the server stats were showing less activity, that was the truth, but now that they show more activity, its a BW conspiracy??
  9. I do too, except that EvE, as far as I know, doesnt have the crafting system SWG had, as resources dont have any stats...but yeah, I love EvE and I think the players there would tell you they enjoy a game that is deep and complex and doesnt just hand out epics for no effort like some 'other' games do.
  10. Yep, agree with this post. And a great place to add some sandbox to this game would be the crafting side...and SWG is a great blueprint!
  11. Whats wrong with a space theme? Works tremendously well for EvE...fantasy has been done to death, arent you bored of it by now??
  12. Good post. Im actually at the point where Im ready for some sandbox mmo action. Im getting pretty tired of the themepark design...this is probably the last themepark game Ill go for, and that being said, I still hold out hope they will incorporate some sandbox stuff, especially crafting side since SWG did it so well. To that end, Ive been playing EvE lately and loving it. I love games with depth and sizeable learning curves, unfortunatley, game developers dont have the balls to make such mmos anymore because everyone wants easy, faceroll content...look how easy WoW is these days, theres a reason for that. So yeah, sign me up for sandbox...you hear that, game developers?
  13. That sounds like a great game, I wish they thought of that instead of the NGE. Even so, I am being very fair to SWG, it did a lot right. It didn't need to be a WoW clone, neither does SWTOR for that matter.
  14. I finally gave in and started a trial sub on EvE. Got tired of reading about it and decided to try for myself. I loved SWG crafting system, and that game had some good ideas, so maybe a sandbox mmo is worth trying. That's what I'm about to find out. Of course, still spending most of my time in SWTOR and only logging into WoW to raid...
  15. I am comparing the games I played. I stuck around until WoW, so that was right after JTL came out. Obviously the comparisons change if you're talking about SWG last year.
  16. Hahaha, no you weren't. Which version of SWG could you kill a rancor one hour after character creation? Not the original version, I can tell you that. Stop lying.
  17. I played both, was in SWG from the very start so I can comment on this. What SWG did right, they did very very right...crafting. So much better than SWTOR, and I was really really hoping BW would pick up the mantle from SoE and put this style of crafting in the game. Such a shame they didn't, they had a free opportunity to have the best crafting in a themepark mmo and decided nah, lets just copy WoW's lame crafting. Still hold out hope BW will pick up on this and move to this kind of system. Open worlds...big plus to SWG...there was never any limit to climbing steep inclines so you could go virtually anywhere on the map. Lots of exploration possibilities. Player cities/faction bases...even WoW never had this...big plus, not only over SWTOR but WoW Skill based level system - no levels. SWG was my first mmo, so I guess I took this for granted, but loved this system. Level treadmill gets old after awhile. Space game - JTL was exactly what needs to happen in SWTOR. I still give BW the chance to do this, still very early in the game for SWTOR, and remember JTL didn't happen until a year after launch Faction switching - one faction getting to big? No problem, you could switch back and forth and it wasn't hard to do at all. Just see your friendly neighborhood Smuggler. Of course, what SWG did wrong, was very very wrong. To sum up, lack of content. The devs told the players the content was theirs to create, the players were like...:S No content, then the holocron/Jedi system...once word came out that in order to unlock your Jedi slot, you had to grind random professions...made the game rather silly. In SWTOR you just make your Jedi..or Sith...and go from there...big plus to SWTOR. Content, big big plus to SWTOR. Going to terminals to get missions to kill mob lairs then running out 10 clicks to the waypoint and hoping no one killed your mobs before you got there and then having a new waypoint generated that you would have to then run to...got old fast. AFK/macros...entertainers in cantinas looping their moves in a macro then asking for tips. At least SWG had macros tho, but it sure ruined that class. Limit of 1 char per server...terrible, terrible idea...big huge plus to SWTOR (not to mention a huge reason why so many left SWG to WoW). So you made a crafter, which then meant you sacrificed combat skills...and then you want to make a fighter char to balance it out? Too bad so sad, couldn't do it on the same server. Time period - set between ANH and ESB...bad idea, for faction balance. Imps had all the power and Rebels were weaklings. Yeah, good balance. Oh, and lets give the Imps AT-ST pets, that will make things even better. Big plus to SWTOR. Should have set the game after ROTJ for better faction balancing. Class balance....lessee, Creature Handlers with 4 rancors out at 1 time, Combat Medic/Riflemen with mind disease and poisons with 65 yrd range...good times, good times...makes Sorcs look like Druids in Vanilla WoW. Nod to SWTOR here. tl;dr - SWG had some great stuff, and I miss it. However, there was a reason WoW cleaned its clock and it never recovered. SWTOR is much better, though if you prefer the sandbox type of mmo, SWG was for you.
  18. There is no source, just an investor group getting a hair up their *** because EA hasn't talked about SW:ToR financials in 7 days. Meanwhile, these guys gush about Zynga, proving once again they couldn't find their ******e with a map, flashlight and funnel...
  19. Well, my WoW server, Windrunner, has about 5-600 people online at primetime on Alliance, on a 5-1 alliance to horde server, while my Swtor server has 1000+ empire online at the same time...so there?
  20. What's scary is not EA, but Zynga...investors really think that company is worth the paper its printed on, then I don't know who's more foolish, they or Zynga's customers. Talk about a company with no redeeming product at all, that has open hostility to its own customers...not to mention customer support and buggy games that are *really* worth crying about. *shudders*
  21. Whats funny is, I rolled a Sage, then a Sorc, then finally a BH...and now that I got the BH to max and hit my Sage/Sorc, it will look like I'm bandwaggoning...lol.
