if you put DPS Armorings and Tanking Mods and Enhancements in her armor Treek does pretty good DPS while still tanking well. As far as HK goes, he is the best DPS pet hands down. No other Companion can hold a candle to his single target damage. I do wish he had better AoE damage, but we cant have everything I guess lol There are a few companions who will output more overall damage than HK because of AoE, but in general you probably don't want companions to be doing AoE in a FP or OP if you're duo'ing them, or doing them undermanned.

Nope, the HK quest chain was always the way it is now. You only had to do one part of the quest chain on the other faction to unlock him for your whole legacy. Once you unlocked him on any character, he was buyable for all of them, on both factions

I've said it before, I'll say it again 'Fidiots are sooooo cute' Why would I even care if they give something away 5 or 6 months after I bought it? the people I feel sorry for are the ones who got it 1 or 2 weeks before the 'refund' date. They didn't get a lot of use for their money, and wont be getting the 1050 cc compensation. *shrug* I watched that chick on gamebreakertv rant an rage about it, and had to sit and laugh at her. Some people don't understand tactics period. They think that soft target Ranged DPS types are supposed to stand there and go toe to toe with them or you're a cheater, fail, wimp, p*8&^, BAD, or whatever other derogatory pejorative they plan to use to say you're not as good as them because you didn't fight the way they thought you should have(so they could win of course). I've actually had someone swap from one faction to the other just to tell me I'm a cheating suckfest b**** because I had to use a class CD to kill them. This was on my 53 Op, s/he was playing a 55 Vanguard. I was doing a quest and s/he came in while I was fighting a small group of mobs and jumped me. So, I hit heroic moment and used 3 of my legacy abilities to kill the group of mobies and also do some damage to him. I then did a normal rotation and slowed him, as my health got to about 30% I stealthed, moved about 15 yards away and hit orbital strike, then dumped the other 2 heroic moment abilities I had left and managed to kill the person. Their complaint wasn't that I used 5 heroic moment abilities to beat them, but that I used my classes combat stealth ability to get an orbital strike off on them while they were slowed lol Forget the fact s/he was 55 to my 53, or that I was being attacked by a group of 3 mobs, but I'm NOT supposed to use a class ability to fight them all? lol fidiots are so cute sometimes

Ummm, we're talking about two different numbers it looks like. I'm talking about defensive point allocation. If you have 5000 Defense points, they should be spent in an allocation spread of Defense: 30.5%, Shield: 36.5% Absorb: 33%. Not talking about the chance numbers or absb rating. It looks like you were talking displayed numbers. When I looked at your posted percentages, with the previous posts reference to ratings numbers, I thought you were talking about the spread, and not chance. My number are actually right, but then, so are yours

Defense: 30% Shield: 40% Absorb: 30% your numbers leave 10% floating in subspace --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- at the 5000 level youre looking at a ratio of: Defense: 30.5% Shield: 36.5% Absorb: 33% for optimal point distribution.(according to KeyboardNinja's numbers ) At 3500 defense points, the numbers are: Defense: 35% Shield: 36.5% Absorb: 28% At 1000 defense points, the numbers are: Defense: 63.5% Shield: 36.5% Absorb: 0% My percentage numbers are fractions off, but close enough that if you use them you'll be fine, just not point optimal.

I think, since there were two sets of armor. One sould have been 10, and the other 50. so people just starting have their set, and the 55's have if not the best, at least viable armor on a new companion(which all other companions come with).

Nope, both sets are identical. Same stats and look.

Okay, so I buy Treek, she came with lvl 10 armor on. No big, I got an armor pack with her also. so I open it up and, you guessed it, more lvl 10 armor so my lvl 55 Jugg is sitting here with a useless companion until I spend about 5 million credits to outfit her, or I wait for the few weeks it'll take me to gather up the needed comms to buy lvl 55 mods to put in her gear? More flashbacks to HK-51 and his armor bugs from when he came with no armor for some people (me being one) and having a useless lvl 50 companion until I could outfit him in lvl 50 gear.

Simple answer, nope. She will be the same as HK-51.

most low level flash points up to around level 40 you can run with 4 DPS if they know what theyre doing. its those post 40, and mostly the 50+ that are the problem.

If this was actually happening, then it wouldn't be an issue. The problem is, they DON'T have the correct gear, or field respec, and force everyone to wait on a proper tank/healer, or leave and re-queue.

^^^^^ This. I generally guard the healer for the first two or three pulls. If one of the DPS grabs agro Ill swap to that DPS instead of the healer. If neither do, I keep the healer guarded.

Honestly, my biggest problem with FP queues is idiot DPS queuing as tanks/heals for the timer. I tried 4 different times yesterday to get my daily/weekly done and had the same **** happen each time. Some random ******* popping in an saying, oh Im listed as a tank, but Im really DPS, I queued as a tank so I didn’t have to wait an hour or two. I have no problems with a tank queuing as DPS really. Yea, they might not be the best DPS ever, but at least they CAN perform the role somewhat. A DPS as a tank is a waste of a slot period. The System should lock you in to the role your tree points say you’re performing. Have 30+ points in a DPS tree, you’re only allowed to queue as DPS period. Same for Healing and Tanking.

Yes, the knife barrel is bound to knives, and since Republicans dont get knives, there is no legacy weapon to move from Imp side to republic. Thats the problem he is talking about. I doubt its favoritism like someone said, or intentional malice, but just an oversight by the Devs. Im hoping they remove the stupid slot restrictions, they're annoying in the extreme. Also, I think its silly to expect someone to have to grind out an opposite faction character to equip a companions mods.

When I started playing MMO's back in 2000 my dad wouldn't let me roll a chick cause '"I was 14 at the time"' he was afraid I'd be harassed and propositioned more than I'd be able to enjoy playing the game Asherons Call. Sad part was, in 2002, when I rolled my first female character, I spent maybe 30 minutes a night for a while just igging guys who PMed sex msgs to me luckily it only lasted a lil more than a few days, then I guess they figured out I wouldn't play along, and I was left alone, for the most part. Doesn't happen as much in TOR as it did in WoW thankfully but every now an then, I'll still get one of those out of the blue 'hey baby wana ....' msgs Every game has fidiots in it, and it's easier to play the way you like and enjoy than let them ruin your fun, so play what makes you happy, chicks playing males, guys playing females, whatever works for you is the 'right' way to play the game. In the end, this is for entertainment, so why should it matter what anyone else is doing with/to their characters, if it doesn't affect your game play? Since player gender has no bearing in game for other than the person behind the screen, the only thing I can see as an issue is you're one of those guys who gets overly protective/possessive of a female avi in your group, and it cracks your crank that that hot pixilated babe in a brass bra might be a hairy backed dude in a tshirt and unders in a basement somewhere 😄

Its called gating. They don't want people who're able to play 6-10 hours a day to get so far ahead of the 'casual' players that the 'casuals' fell like they're hitting an insurmountable gear disparity a week into playing, as the new 50's felt when joining a WZ against a group of EWH geared players. True that disparity will eventually hit no matter what, but it'd be worse a week or two into the dxpac.
