  1. I agree with the OP. People having this archaic fear of Cross Server is just silly. What the real problem is, is the primitive loot system from 1999 that Bioware has shoved down our throats. WoW doesn't have ninja looting, they installed multiple loot rules that completely prevent any advantage/possibility of ninja looting as follows: 1. Can only need on items for your Advanced Class (I.E Snipers can only need sniper rifles, not blaster rifles, Juggs can only need heavy strength armor, not any other armor, etc...) 2. Needing on ANY item binds it to your character 3. Able to trade bound items to other players in your group for 1 hour With those 3 simple changes 99.9% of ninja looting is solved and all the arguments against cross server play go away. The idea what somehow people are worse if they are from another server makes no sense, dumb people reside on all servers, not just the other ones. Also the idea that you can self police your server and players will get a bad rep is equally illogical. There is upwards of 50,000 characters on any given server. You will not be able to ignore/spread the word on a ninja looter any more effectively than if you had a pool of 500,000.
  2. Personally I only seem to have a problem with tanks. Had 2 tanks who had never done a FP before and didn't know what being a tank actually was. One of them I was able to coach and teach the basics to, the other cursed me out and told me it was his $15 and he'd play however he wanted... which was alone after we kicked him. That's on my mid level healer so no complaints, people like that get weeded out mostly before 50. HM's on my main are just funny though. Today I got put into a group with a tank who had no idea what was going on. He had 13k health and hadn't ever cleared it before. But the healer was just as geared as me (Sage DPS) so I just tanked it since he couldn't keep aggro anyway. HM's are such a joke you can easily clear them with 3 dps and a healer.
  3. Well with the formation of full 8 person teams there are a lot of coordinated groups... did you know that a team of 4 snipers 2 ops and 2 juggs can kill a guarded ball carrier in 1 GCD? Neither did I until yesterday. The snipers all lined up like ducks in a row on the top, went into cover and BLAM no more ball carrier. I suspect with the coordination provided by full teams of 8 you will start to see much higher burst so people will drop seemingly (especially sages since we have no defense) very quickly.
  4. This works great. I bound them to F1 and F2 so I can easily reach them. I use this for my healer so I can switch between PvE solo play and FP/PvP without having to redo my bar constantly.
  5. Ahh ok I understand now. You don't sell them to the curator, you use them as a kind of currency to buy the things he sells. If you look closely the prices aren't in credits but instead in gift fragments.
  6. I would love to know how people took my post and somehow interpreted that I didn't want to pay to move my mods? If someone could explain that logic that would be great. In fact I took my fully augmented Anointed Zeyd-Cloth set that I have been using since 1.2 and ripped out all 15 mods and put them back into my rakata set and then crafted 14 augment kits, crafted 7 additional purple 22 resolve augments (and ripped out the 4 I had in the augmented set) and spent 30kx14 to augment every piece of gear I had, which gives me a fully augmented set as well as my set bonus (reduced force cost and 5% alacrity makes a big difference on sustained dps) I actually ended up keep my Zeyd-Cloth robe because I couldn't handle having those hideous shoulder pads of the rakata robe. and I don't need it since that still puts me at 4/5. Really all Bioware needs to do is allow us to trade in our rakata shell for a newly made rakata armoring that has the set bonus on it. I'm sure that's simpler then adding an appearance tab. The fact is very few people have the campaign gear that everyone claims is the "solution" In fact I have yet to see a single person with more than 1 piece of campaign gear (not counting the relics obviously). HM EC is very difficult and not many people have cleared it, nor will they for quite some time. My guild is still working on SM EC and every advantage we can get is helpful.
  7. did you try collecting them and bringing them to the curator on the fleet...? You seem to answer your own question in the post... bring them to the curator on the fleet and he sells grade 5 purple companion gifts for them.
  8. Thanks for this "upgrade" to the appearance system Bioware. I now look like a clown again. I have huge bananas on my hands and a fan on my head because in order to be competitive in the raid I need to have my set bonus and have augmented gear... which puts me back in the gear I was trying to get away from. After 4 iterations of your appearance system I suggest scrapping the whole thing and just add an appearance tab like you should have done from day 1.
  9. I could live with the cost of the xp boosts if they weren't such a slap in the face. Patch 1.2 brought us... 30% nerf to WZ xp....50% nerf to space xp Patch 1.3 brings us....30% buff to WZ xp...30% buff to space xp (yours for only 5 easy payments of 100k!) They keep removing things from the game then reintroducing them as "new content" or "perks" It's the most disgusting business practice i've ever witnessed.
  10. In order to get a 3% crafting boost on my 8 characters that would be 350k x8 = 2.8 million credits... that's pretty absurd if you ask me. a million credits would be much more reasonable for what it offers. The fact is that Bioware is trying to slow down progression by throwing more and more credit sinks at us, and it sucks.
  11. I've found that there is really only a very very very very very small level range in which space missions give xp... pretty much the level they become available. Once you are 1 level higher than that level and the mission turns yellow from orange they only give 5xp for the bonus missions, and once you are 2-3 levels above the entire mission only gives 5xp. Needless to say the 30% bonus really isn't worth it... though the real reason I didn't get it is because of what a slap in the face it is... Bioware nerfed space xp by 50% in 1.2 and now they try and sell us a 30% increase for absurd amounts of money. It's disgraceful to be honest.
  12. If you have any sort of effects on you then it won't work. If you have a companion out then it won't work. If you let your companion die first and use evasion to remove all effects from you then you should be able to use it effectively to drop combat.
  13. My ranked team faced a team of 2 ops, 4 snipers and 2 juggs... the 4 snipers could kill the ball handler in 1 GCD.... lots of fun... and of coruse the juggs kept our ball handler perma rooted until the snipers set up.
  14. I had similar problems in Huttball. I would step on the air vent and spend the next 10 seconds watching my character teleport around the middle like popping popcorn... then when it finally stopped I insta died every time.
  15. After playing with it a little it seems to be a typical rush it out as fast as possible and don't put any thought into it kind of thing that Bioware does best. Early this morning right after servers came up I queued on my main and did a fast T5 HM run. We were all ridiculously overgeared except the tank. The tank had never done the instance before so I just tanked it as a Jedi Sage since I did too much damage for the tank to hold aggro. Not really a problem when you outgear it so much. Switched over to my Healer alt (lvl 36) and sat in the queue for 30 minutes before finally getting a group. Not a huge deal, that's the price you pay for not having Cross server but that's strike one imo. But the group was full of completely incompetent people. I tried explaining for 5 minutes how the tank has an ability called guard that he could put on me but he just couldn't figure it out. I tried doing without and did fine until the HK fight where it became apparent he also didn't know what taunt was or how to use defensive CD's. Both dps quit as did I. Not Bioware's fault though. However when I left I was dumped back on the fleet 10 minutes of loading scrrens away from where I wanted to me... total fail, strike 2. Then I switched back to my main and decided to queue for HM LI and get my weekly done... boy was that a mistake... Apparently Bioware couldn't be bothered to put any sort of gear check in... so after waiting for 20 minutes we finally get a group... and the tank is in lvl 40 greens... kick him and wait another 10 minutes at which point one the healer leaves... we get another tank at this point who is decently geared only to have a new healer in all greens join... we finally gave up at that point. That's strike 3. Other major problems I encountered: 1. No estimated wait time, you have no idea what you have time to go do while waiting 2. Can't group with other people while waiting. I was trying to do my dailies but when I tried to group it said I couldn't while in the group finder. So I left... which caused me to bug out and not be able to accept any group invites. Had to restart the client to fix it... which put me in a 10 minute queue to log in... 3. Ops lockouts are a major problem for the group finder... tried to do SM EV and had a couple people leave half way through... group broke up and now I am saved to half of it with no hope of completing it this week, completely screwing me over Bioware should pull the LFG took until they can fix these 6 major issues and give us something functional.
  16. https://twitter.com/#!/SWTOR/ UPDATE: At this time, we do not have an estimate for the end of the maintenance. Thank you for your patience.
  17. I have to go to work in 40 minutes... I just hope I can get in and make a couple million credits before then...
  18. 70-100k... Maybe... I know I plan on selling them for 200k a pop tomorrow...
  19. I play a full TK spec in PvE. I like it much better than Balance just because I almost never run out of force. However in PvP Balance or Hybrid is much better then TK.
  20. I love my rocket boots. But after fitting my first Imperial character with Fully upgraded Rocket Boots, a full set of exalted legacy armor (looks awesome!) and buying him enough mats to max out his crafting profession... I am starting to run low on credits... I don't think i'll be able to buy everything I want in 1.3... I'll have to just stick to the basics.
  21. I reported 27 people today on my server... Some of the things they were talking about were waaaayy beyond illegal. Hopefully Bioware reports them to the proper authorities.
  22. The only place you can get a +41 purple crystal from is the pre 1.2 vendor and they were BoE, so you must have accidentally equipped it. If it is instead a +31 purple crystal then it could have come from a Champion/Columi weapon and those are BoP. Those are currently the only 2 options in the game for purple crystals.
  23. But that's just the problem, you don't have to choose. Now in 1.3 you can augment your Tionese-Rakata gear and have the augments AND the set bonuses. It's just everyone now has to go back to the same crappy looks to get them.
  24. 2 months to get a set of gear is too fast? Ugh i'm glad you aren't in charge. Also you can only get 10 a day for 2 days out of the week, you can only get 5 a day the rest of the days.
  25. If it's anything like their "improvements" to gear customization then be careful what you wish for. Instead of an appearance tab we've now had 4 iterations of some odd system that is now becoming so convoluted that it's just absurd, and it STILL doesn't solve the initial problem of not having to trade stats for looks.
