  1. As yes the much better communication of closed beta... where we were told that we were just there because they needed more people and our feedback wasn't needed because they already decided everything and to stop whining about how the game sucks because it is great!
  2. The devs are all busy playing the GW2 Beta Weekend Event
  3. Making stuff up really isn't helping you... SWTOR has added 2 FP's, 1.5 Raids, and 1 WZ since launch. They also added 7 Daily quests in the BH area, removed 5 PvP quests and removed the Ilum PvP Zone, they also added a WB though only a very small faction of players actually get to beat it. So they have a net gain of adding like 8 of the things you mentioned... not really sure where you get 60!?!? Also not really sure where you heard GW2 has 1/5 the content of SWTOR? They are launching with more WZ style maps then SWTOR, more open world PvP then SWTOR, competitive PvP, more zones than SWTOR and more Features then SWTOR. If you have some evidence that shows SWTOR having some trove of hidden content I don't know about please let me know so I can admit defeat.
  4. I remember them going on and on and on about how when you rolled an alt you wouldn't repeat a single mission!! Lol... you can't even roll an alt on a different faction and get new missions. Changing the name of the quest doesn't make it a new quest! I was excited to play the other side to get something new... but even the world arcs are almost exactly the same, only a few planets have different world arcs even.
  5. Gunna sub for one more month to hold me over until GW2 launches then i'm gone
  6. I just want to know why it takes over 2 hours to restart the servers when other MMO's can do it in 15 minutes?
  7. How dare those SCUM play the game they are paying for! The Audacity of them!
  8. I agree that the game is different enough from the "standard" MMO that there are plenty of people who won't like it at all. I would however suggest at least trying the game for free if you can get a beta key. I find the PvE to be very refreshing, but I understand why some people would find it frustrating and annoying. People who played WoW and try to play GW2 in the same fashion get destroyed over and over until they approach the combat with an open mind of a new game, not a WoW rehash.
  9. Swtor has relatively simple jumping puzzles that are made arbitrarily complex because of the abysmal thing they call jumping in this game. Swtor: GW2:
  10. I will be leaving swtor for GW2 and here is why GW2 Features: 1. Expansive Achievement system with rewards 2. Fully fleshed out Guild system with guild rewards and achievements, guild emblems you can put on your armor, guild bank, etc... (guild halls to come shortly after release) 3. Dynamics Events that scale to the number of players participating in them. Events that span entire areas, events that actually change the game world around you 4. No traditional quests, "renown hearts" instead, gives you many different activities. Once I had to turn into a pig and dig up truffles, once I had to equip this bomb throwing contraption to knock things out of trees, no more just kill/gather quests like in TOR. Combat: 5. No Trinity, you can just grab 4 players and do the dungeons, no more waiting 2 hours in a queue for a tank. 6. Different combat style. No more of the WoW/SWTOR just standing there and being beat on. Dodging, movement, ability combos, and skill are the name of the game. Leveling: 7. No kill stealing, everyone that participates gets credit 8. Loot for everyone, you don't have to roll for loot against your friends, everyone gets their own assigned loot. 9. Flat leveling curve, each level after 30 takes as much experience as the previous, so you don't have levels that just drag on forever 10. Scaled zones. If you go back to a lower level zone you get down-scaled to the level of that zone so it is still a challenge. You also still get xp (slightly reduced, like 10%) and loot appropriate for your level. This has the effect that you always have MORE options with every level you gain on where to go next. In TOR if you are level 27 then you HAVE to level on tatooine, in GW2 there are over 10 places you could effectively level by the same time. Exploration 11. Hidden puzzles all over the world, including complex jumping puzzles with cool rewards at the ends) 12. MASSIVE OPEN worlds. You never feel like you are on a path, you can literally go anywhere unlike the path planets of TOR 13. No long loading times. You can load into a zone in 10-15 seconds, not the 3-4 minutes it takes in TOR PvP 14. WvWvW (Server vs Server v Server) MASSIVE PvP, fights of 100+ people, sieging castles, using siege weapons, defending keeps, guarding supply lines, best open world PvP i've ever played. 15. No Factions, so no faction imbalance. 16. Small scale PvP like Warzones in TOR, with multiple maps (Including an underwater one!) 17. PvP tournaments, with rewards 18. Fully ranked PvP system on release 19. Can PvP at level 2, as a full level 80 with full gear (that's right no gear grind, just skill) 20. Can still progress in PvP by earning better cosmetic looks for your gear Well that's just a few of the reasons, but i'd say try and get a beta key and play this weekend (they are giving out like 500,000 of them)
  11. By December 2012 this game will ALMOST have all the features GW2 is going to launch with... ....I guess that's good...
  12. except not at all... if you get kicked its because the Majority kicked you, you can't get kicked by the minority.
  13. did you buy both speeders? I slowed myself way down by buying those.
  14. According to Bioware they said all the color crystals except white would be available for Artifice to craft... Sort of like they were adding "tons of new orange schematics" in 1.2 that never showed up... Just add it to the ever expanding list of things Bioware says that never actually happen.
  15. correct. as long as there are no mechanics that prevent you from doing so you should be able to solo any flashpoint or heroic mission that is 4 levels below you.
  16. Most of the theory crafting hard core types have left. I would suggest looking in the individual class forums for some theory crafting. I know SI/JC forums both have some pretty detailed theory crafting.
  17. Well actually the PvP Relics are BiS for PvE.... so the question is why are you wearing inferior PvE Relics for PvE?
  18. if some of you people spent half as much time in the game as you did complaining about overgeared people then you wouldn't need the bonus bosses either. The fact is I queue up to get my 5 BH comms. you tanks and healers are just filler. my companion can heal better than most of the people I queue with but I can't queue my companion unfortunately. I usually tank most of the HM bosses on my sage because the queued tanks don't hold aggro. Healers usually have an easier time healing me than the tanks anyway. But that's what you get with random groups. When I play my healer I like the challenge of healing "tanks" it makes otherwise pathetically easy HM's interesting. At least LI HM offers somewhat of a challenge, but it is not worth it with a pug.
  19. Upon adding RP servers at launch Bioware made it very clear that they do not have the technology or the man power to enforce naming policies on RP servers and thus they would never be enforced. Since the population has dropped, subs are down, and about half the staff was laid off I would find it HIGHLY unlikely that they would start developing the technology and hire more people to enforce a naming policy...
  20. I love when that happens, you shouldn't be complaining. If the price falls all the way down to 90k then just buy them all at 90k and relist at 130k, instant 30k (after GTN fee) profit.
  21. Well your number is correct, but your analysis is completely wrong on every level. With a 99.536% chance that means only 99,536 out of every 100,000 people will have gotten a successful RE after that many tries. Those 99,536 people don't come to the forums to complain. however there are 464 people who feel like the system is broken, but really they are just the subject of a large sample size. Granted that's a little simplified but basic idea should be sound
  22. So basically the OP wants GW2 I hope more games in the future follow the format of GW2, everything i've played of it so far is vastly superior to SWTOR except it's lacking the Star Wars license.
  23. well Georg Zeller's main philosophy was... is it an operative? if yes... NERF IT!!! is it a marauder.. if yes... BUFF IT!!! make random non-sensical changes to other classes for good measure. Now that he is gone we will have to wait and see what they do for future balance changes.
  24. There are probably close to 10 million RE event taking place across the game every day. Which means people have the possibility of seeing all sorts of statistically unlikely events. So there is probably at least 1 poor soul out there every so often who sees no crits after 60 RE's(~1 in 10 million chance)... just be glad you aren't that guy. The devs have access to the overall numbers (sample size hundreds of millions, not the 50 or so yours is) and see a 20% rate, so there is no problem
  25. If you are building a reputation to become the most awesome tank ever then clearly you aren't using the LFG tool anyway so I don't see how it matters. The whole point of the LFG tool is that you either don't know anyone or you don't care so you want to just get a group as quickly as possible. Anyone else using the tool could care less how awesome a tank you are, if they knew that they wouldn't be using the tool, they'd be forming a group from their friends list. Sure I guess you could meet them using the tool, they see how good of a tank you are, they add you to their friends list then they don't use the tool anymore... but again we are back to the problem being Bioware's archaic technology not a Cross-Server problem. If Bioware allows you to add friends from different servers then that argument goes away too.
