  1. I wonder how much of the work is outsourced.
  2. MOST players will only require one set of legacy gear that may be shared across most alts. SOME players may want three sets of legacy gear to cover the three roles. FEW players need BiS relics, ear, and implants, and can use crafted / non-BiS until they happen to acquire BiS. NO player is forced to min/max every character, that is a choice.
  3. This is in no way represents the "real state of the game". This might be the state of certain types of group content that streamers are choosing to stream, but that's it. Few people will stream, and few would want to watch, a player going through solo leveling or chapters. Just because it isn't being streamed, it doesn't mean it isn't be played. To the OP, I wish you well as you re-integrate into a real life.
  4. For the mirror alts, wouldn't you just use legacy gear?
  5. P2W / P2A (pay to accelerate) only impacts players who want to play in a competitive environment. A solo player is likely less aware and likely cares less if others are purchasing things they're choosing to earn through gameplay. If the target audience is shifting toward casual solo players who are willing to spend money instead of time to obtain in-game items, then I think you may be surprised about the impact of P2W / P2A. Some players will spend more money that may more than compensate for those players who leave.
  6. Maybe there will be a last minute upset, and the dark side will win. Then the people who expected the light side to win, due to their shock and disbelief, will begin protesting.
  7. Taxis can travel faster because they don't trigger spawns. If vehicles were faster they'd be able to beat the current spawn rates. To fix that, it would require the server to calculate spawns at a greater distance ahead of the player. This would put an increased load on the servers. Clients would also need to manage handling more items, so they could respond to the increased distance, which could impact some player's PCs. So I would find it very unlikely due to the potential problems it would cause.
  8. I think that the DvL objectives that required people to do certain activities, such as HM FP or certain OPS is part of the problem. People are trying to complete a checklist of items they have no interest in doing and would otherwise have gladly skipped. Most guides are not written for a player not familiar with that type of content. And much of the guide's details and warnings aren't significant until they've been experienced by the player. I think solo, tactical, and hard mode versions of flashpoints can also set players up with a false expectation that the next higher difficulty will be similar to the one they've experienced.
  9. I'm on Pot5 and was able to get it. Recommendations: When you're logged in, make certain you're ALWAYS in the queue End-game PvP (level 65) is more likely to pop than lower levels Find out when your server's prime PvP times are (Pot5 seems to be Tuesday evenings) Immediately requeue after a success/failure Use a valor boost It is possible. It is frustrating. Good luck!
  10. ESO doesn't use HeroEngine the same way that SW:TOR does. From what I read it was used for prototyping and design, but in the end they're using a different engine for graphics.
  11. It involves a time machine... No, the only way to get the companion is to have been a subscriber on that date.
  12. I totally disagree, but in addition this isn't even practical. Many players have stockpiles of valuable items. They could just sell those as they need more money.
  13. Have a friend that has access to Odessen fly you there on their starship.
  14. There is a menu choice to let you get him back, if you're a Counselor. If you don't take the menu option, or if for some reason its not available to you, then you will have to earn the influence with him again, using the methods mentioned in the the Dulfy guide: Stalking the Score (Qyzen)
  15. Right, and all that information is in the guide I linked, which he said he DID.
  16. How did you earn your influence? World bosses or "worthy" creatures?

  18. I've never gotten the drop in a solo-mode flashpoint. Hard mode, which requires a group, is your best chance. And you can buy many decorations off the GTN if hard mode fp isn't your preferred thing to do.
  19. I don't want to be limited to rare companion gifts that you can only get with jawa junk. I would also like them to be able to run crew missions. And if they're creating new companions, I'm afraid they wouldn't make them customizable.
  20. Let me throw a few more links your way of some community sites that I find helpful: Dulfy TOR Community TOR Fashion TOR Calendar Planetary Progression Chart Crafting Chart
  21. Welcome back! HK-51 Guide IMO its tedious, not hard Datacron Guide Currencies... In patch 5.0 (11/29/16) they will replace crystals and wz commendations with credits. Prefabs, are craftable components, which allowed crafters a nice revenue stream for a while. The cartel certificates were available from older cartel packs. They were just an incentive / reward for purchasing them. Recovered Relics were intended to allow players to have a choice in their rewards, rather than RNG.
  22. Please allow characters to use companions that were unlocked on another character in your legacy. It is less fun leveling a new character with a companion you dislike. With changes to the rate of XP gain, its possible to quickly reach level 65 and still only have your starter-planet companion and a ship droid. Not all companions are the same: Melee vs Ranged Appearance Species Gender Clothing customization Availability of companion customizations Banter Weapon choice which affects their abilities and animations Concerns over impact on crafting and crew skills: HK-51, Nico, and soon Shae Vizla are available at level 1 and Treek is available at level 10. So, along with the companion every class gets on their starter planet, some players are capable of having 5 companions by level 10 and 6 companions once they get their ship droid. I'm excluding the cartel pack companions, as they aren't usable for crafting. However, you could use one of the cartel pack companions for combat while your other companions are running crew skills. The number of companions you're allowed to deploy on missions is already limited by your character's level. For players who missed the opportunity to get Nico or Shae, this would allow them a way to have the same number of companions, and at the same time, as other players of their level. Concerns over impact on your class story: As unlocking and claiming these companions would be optional, a player who doesn't want to have the continuity of their story impacted can choose non-class companions, or none at all. Possible Restrictions: Limit to companions from your current class Limit to companions available from KotFE / KotET What I'm not asking for: Changes to how any of these companions would gain (or not gain) influence through conversations Changes to any quest specific companion restrictions Changes to the romance options of any companions Providing access to a companions you wouldn't normally have been able to obtain eventually Recommended Cost: Unlocks per character and per account via Cartel Coins or credits should be in line with unlocking Treek, HK-51, and cartel pack companions. Summary: My main motivation is the desire to have a leveling companion that is aesthetically pleasing, wearing an outfit of my choice, and a weapon equipped of a style for which I enjoy the animation. Secondary to that, I like to have at least one ranged and one melee companion available as they do perform differently in certain scenarios. I already have Nico, and qualify for Shae. I have grown tired of starting with Nico and/or HK-51 on new characters and would enjoy some leveling variety. I believe people who level many alts and try to immerse themselves into their character and companion experiences would appreciate this change. Some players have strong preferences to the gender of their companions. This would also create more opportunities for those who roleplay.
  23. It was an incentive to keep people subscribing during a period of little to no content being added. If the only reason someone subscribed during that time period was to get just those bonuses, then yes they were doing it exclusively for that. If people knew that there would be a less expensive alternative to acquire the items later some would not have subscribed. Just out of curiosity, what price would you be willing to pay for Nico? What price for the chapter?
  24. Expansions: A return to expansions that are more like Makeb or SoR than the KotFE/KotET chapters. No more skytroopers: I don't want to have to keep killing wave-after-wave-after-wave of skytroopers as filler between cut scenes. The first time playing through the new chapters was really enjoyable. It just doesn't hold up when playing again on an alt. Making the chapters repeatable holds no interest for me, as I already do them too often when leveling alts. Explorable Maps: I don't want linear stories on maps that loop back over themselves repeatedly. I want to have a sense that I'm in control of when and where I go, and which companions I do it with. The new chapters have taken away that sense of awe at the exploration of a planet. Stop Gating Content: I don't want new events or features that gate their rewards behind unrelated content. I especially am tired of content that is gated behind a different playstyle than the content itself. Options for Dailies: I enjoy daily areas like Black Hole and Belsavis. Adding new repeatable content (not the chapters) that allows for diversity in how we choose to spend our daily grind time would be nice.
