  1. Having played MMOs since the late 90s, I have to say I've seen a lot. Most of the old MMOs I started with (Ultima Online, etc) are still running and still have players. But, a couple of them are now dead and shutdown. I normally don't get anxious about an MMO shutting down, but I'll admit right now, I'm starting to dread it with this one. SWTOR is the reason I'll never play another MMO. I love the game and I can deal with changes, but I do believe they're killing it. "They" being the devs. I think EA is getting close to pulling the plug on development for SWTOR, no matter what BW says about that. I'll be very sad, and angry, when they finally shut it off. I will have lost a lot of time and that's just the way I see it. I play two MMOs currently, this one and one I won't name, but after they die, I'm done with MMOs for good. Give me a single player RPG and I'll play it, but I won't waste my time in something with a subscription and "servers" ever again.
  2. I understand the dilemma that BW faces with merging. Where do you draw your line, keep timezones together, or playstyle? One suggestion I have, and I think BW needs to take it seriously, is to offer BC players the option to transfer all of their characters without using cartel market to EH or Star Forge, whichever. I think that's only fair, to be honest. The playstyles between BC and Harb are just not the same and people deserve the choice. IMO.
  3. LANA! I never really wanted her as a companion in the first place and she's attached herself to my characters for no apparent reason other than to have them win her throne for her. I don't trust her, never will. She's a power hungry button pusher who will turn on everyone eventually if this story continues. Skadge. I don't like hanger-oners and he's definitely one of those. Risha. Even though she's not back in the story yet, I really never wanted her on my ship, still don't and hope there's an option to get rid of her eventually. Oh, and Tharan Cedrax. The guy is in love with a hologram, I ain't got time for that goofy garbage.
  4. Now if they would just give us a way to turn off the DvL Notification. Talk about an immersion breaker, that thing is it. "The Light is Victorious!". Great.....I don't really care can I turn it off now?
  5. The thing about the class stories is that their replayability is very high. So many choices, so many different ways you could think about the situation. Unfortunately, BW hasn't seemed to get the hint that the Knights storylines don't have the same aspect to them. There's two ways, dark and light and none of it seems to make much sense. I have about 36 characters and I'm still NOT bored with the class stories. I've taken 4 through KotFE and was bored to tears through the entire thing. I won't bother with KotET, no reason to. I was so upset with how KotFE went that I rerolled several characters so I could keep them OUT of it.
  6. I'm most conflicted with the smuggler class story. The two different types of endings I've seen for it really don't jive with what I think a smuggler would be after. They're not really pirates and they're definitely not really loyal to any one faction. or at least, in my head, a smuggler would be looking for jobs on any neutral port of call, not fetching bones for the republic particularly. Same with bounty hunter. They don't seem like they should be overly loyal to the empire. It seems to be that working from the fringes of society, they would be willing to seek payments and bounties from anyone willing to pay, not playing fetch for the empire.
  7. My fav storyline is the bounty hunter. Second would be IA and I also was pretty sad that there was not a proper defect scenario at the end. I have 2 IAs, one "defected", one went rogue. I don't do well with melee and am far better on a ranged class. I think my least fav for that reason are the SW and JK classes. I do LOVE my stealthies too.
  8. I'm not from Shadowlands, but hello from a fellow casual player who has the same basic idea of SWTOR and play it almost exactly as you have written here. I could have written this post myself, in fact.
  9. Nah. I disagree. I don't think there are any bigger problems. That's the thing about personal perspective and opinion. You don't get to tell me what mine is. I'll moan about whatever I wish. Same as you just did,
  10. Because new ops are of no use to me. I don't use them (physical health limitations and time restraints) and get nothing out of new ones being added. I want new things like ops to be added for OTHER people to do, but they're not the things I lobby for in this game on a personal basis because they mean nothing to me. I play this game for story and story related activities, romances are one of those.
  11. You don't think they are? There's a large guild on Harbinger Imp side that has, right in their message of the day, "align light!". Yes, they are doing it.
  12. I have yet to see dark side win on any of the 3 servers I have characters on. My personal assessment of the system is that it's largely useless if you're dark sided. I don't know why there is such a skew towards the lightside. It's a good thing I won't be depending on this system for anything.
  13. Not that I disagree with the sentiment of this thread, as a former long time WoW player who just recently left after 12 years, I understand. However, you're not likely to ever see that in SWTOR. Not now anyway. SWTOR is 5 years old, and no one is going to spend the large amounts of money necessary for something of that caliber on a 5 year old title that isn't already doing fairly well. They would have to hire a dev team the size of WoW's to even try to accomplish that and if they havent already done it, then they're not concerned enough with the state of this game to try. I don't believe that this game is costing EA enough money to worry about it, and is still generating just enough to be considered maintenance worthy. MMOs are a losing bet for both players and developers and I believe that lesson is finally starting to sink in for game companies. They are on their way out, and nothing will ever dethrone WoW or really compete with it. Except maybe Final Fantasy. MMO days are numbered. But, as far as attracting a mass of players, that ship sailed for this game awhile ago.
  14. From what little we know about CXP, no they don't. The only story missions that reward CXP are KotFE and KotET missions, plus heroics and dailies.
  15. I've been gaming since Atari 2600 in the 70s. I'm 45. Not necessarily an "old timer", but old enough.
