  1. You must be new around here lol. Communication from BW/EA has always been minimum, I'd be shocked if they ever addressed this.
  2. I could have predicted this.. it's EA, they're not going to miss up a chance for a quick buck.
  3. You sir are a troll genius and if I could, would donate the rest of my cartel coins to you.
  4. People and businesses do this all the time. A lot of them pull prices out of their rear ends and then put a heavily discounted price in to try and dupe idiots into impulse buying. I honestly wonder if there is anyone out there stupid enough to fall for it.
  5. Why are people so mad? THIS IS EA.. what were you expecting? Something more than fireworks for free? Move along, this isn't the community friendly company you're looking for.
  6. Lol chapter 4, I think the WoW servers will close down before EA invest that sort of money into the game.
  7. At least they are showing some form of intelligence and making changes accordingly. Probably only after testing the waters and seeing EA's greed driving former sub players away. Still, even proper f2p players deserve 4 quickbars.. charge people for good content worth paying for not basic features like quickbars.. maybe they'll realize this sometime in the new year when they fail to make a sustainable amount of money from the current restrictions.
  8. LMAO, hope you didn't choke on your cornflakes reading the review. I think the review is right on the money, once the honeymoon period is over, this game offers nowhere near as much value as other MMO games. The f2p model while very playable, has many failures in my personal opinion and worse still, they've abandoned the one thing that sets this game apart from other MMOs in favour of focusing on the stuff this game does far worse than many other MMOs. If people want to gear farm, unless they're devoted Star Wars fans, there is a few games that are far more deserving of players time than this.
  9. Stopped reading after the first page but seriously, are EA execs on this forum trolling? On the first page alone, I've never seen so many people so concerned about people spending money. I've seen some fanboys in my time but some people here seriously take the cake. We're all in the same boat, we want this game to succeed and to do that, we need to get more people playing the game and happy regardless if they want to spend money or not.
  10. They were more like the game's mascots, EA were pulling their leash the entire time and they probably couldn't take it any more. While there is no actual factual proof of this, it's generally what most people have concluded.
  11. So f2p players don't get any quest rewards at all? WOW, if true. Can they at least trade with premium members? I'm getting my friend to try f2p soon and he isn't going to last long if he can't even get rewards from quests, at least I hope I can buy him some gear for when he needs it. I can't be bothered reading the article as I'm sure I know what the contents will be like.. truth is this is EA doing f2p, they are going to milk milk milk you for everything they can. As someone else quoted, A f2p player should feel like a second class citizen but shouldn't be constantly reminded of it. Ofcourse EA are just blind and see the constant reminder as extra $$ Also wow just wow: You sir take fanboyism to a whole new level, have you recently submitted a CV/Resume to EA?
  12. Despite many player's unhappiness of some of the restrictions, it would seem that BW/EA have succeeded initially at getting a lot more players in. 3am at imperial fleet on TOFN server and it's still packed with people. Don't think I've ever seen it this packed at such out of hour times before and I have been there since day 1 of early access.
  13. I'm sure someone working on the cartel market is anxiously scribbling down this idea to give to his bosses for an extra juicy Christmas bonus. The catch? That'll cost ya 300 cartel coins.
  14. Yup, it's a sad sorry state of affairs. It's wrong to want to see people fired over a game you play but at the same time, I don't want the people responsible for this game's failures to ever work on a game that I'm looking forward to again.
  15. People should be fired though. This game is the perfect example of a perfect formula gone wrong. While there is plenty of stuff we can all look up on the web from former and current employees giving their views of working at BW, it's fairly obvious that some people on this game screwed up badly, further more, it still seems fairly obvious that the exact same people who screwed up such a quality idea, are still screwing up the game. Nobody wants cheerful Joe the mailroom guy fired, they want upper management heads rolling. Ironically, it was cheerful Joe who was gone while the upper management were probably given a raise.
  16. I love how bEAware are quick to come on here and address this issue.. o wait. Absolutely pathetic, especially for the people who didn't have a choice. It's decisions like this which cost the game perfectly happy subscribers but that's okay, BW/EA bEAware, stay classy and keep blaming the subscription model.
  17. Doom and gloom might be a touch far but the fact EA's WoW competitor has gone f2p in less than a year is hardly positive.
  18. Great way to start the article and couldn't be closer to the truth. I hope bEAware are actually not so thick that they don't realize this. This was a great article though, I've never really checked out wire.com before however after reading that, I'm going to bookmark it. I think the eve developer said it best and with a bit of luck, developers will see the benefits of a more sandbox approach as opposed to the theme park content churning mill. SWG was so ahead of it's time, take that approach now and add say the combat of SWTOR and while it might not be able to boast millions of subscribers, it would have been far more sustainable.
  19. Don't think you're quite comprehending my THIS IS EA message I'm trying to convey. My signature is quoted from an interview with their CEO himself, they couldn't care less whether you bought the game or not, it's all about getting more money from you and they've proven with some of their restrictions that they're prepared to go as far as they can get away with.
  20. Because it's EA, what were you honestly expecting, them to give you everything enjoyable in this game for nothing without them seeing any money from you? Lol, you'll make their execs choke on their cornflakes from laughter if they read that.
  21. Really? Sadly with how f2p works, I'm not even going to try and convince my friends to come back. However I have managed to get a few people to try it out for the first time however not quite sure if they'll stick it out.
  22. Yes for 4 measly dollars you can get the basic features most other f2p games offer for FREE. BW have never listened to us and look where it's got them. From the very first people to post about how the world feels lifeless in closed beta, to the loyal subscribers who have looked at the f2p restrictions and basically said they are too restrictive and won't work. These whiners and haters for the most part are in the same boat as you, they want a successful game and are trying their darn hardest to get their logical complaints heard and listened to. Sadly their "whines" are falling on deaf corporate ears.
  23. It's sad because it's true. This game has so much potential too however it seems like they want to neglect the games strengths. The worse thing is, in 3-4 months EA will probably downsize the development team further, stick their hands in the air in an act of corporate snobbery and blame the players. The truth is, EA seem clueless about the long term sustainability of the game and think f2p mmo gamers are going to yell at them "shut up and take my money"
  24. To be fair it was advertised that you'd have to resub to get them. Still think that once again they should have let people get their feet wet before committing. Like give players either 1/4 or 1/2 of their allocated cartel coins for free then let them get the other half and a bonus amount for resubscribing after.
  25. Personally think EA have made the game way too restrictive for old subscribers, if you had a level 50 before unsubbing (loads of people do) and comeback only to see two quickbars, that right there is going to deter a lot of people to come back. Then every other little thing like paying money to hide helm, show titles, legacies etc seem just a little too petty to throw at old subscribers at first. Now a common theme here is now "well then they should subscribe" but need I not remind everyone that: " The subscription requirement was driving away huge numbers of people who do not want to commit to paying monthly." was said by the executive producer himself. What EA should have done is offered 7-14 day free full subscriber trials for old subscribers to let them get a proper feel for how the game currently is, let them get their feet fully wet unrestricted and then maybe they'd feel more inclined to resubscribe and give the game a second chance.
