  1. How long have you been using the internet? And be honest
  2. If you don't like the facebook comments, nobody is making you view them. You even have to click the comments button to view them so no excuses. If you have kids who view it and unhappy at what they are viewing, well as the other poster said, it's nothing kids these days haven't heard before. Is it an embarrassment to EA/BW? Probably but it would be far more embarrassing to have news articles pop up about how EA are silencing their fanbased critics by removing comments.
  3. Honestly I think it's a l2p issue here.. From level 11 onwards (when I first went into a warzone) I found myself doing very well. The trick is not to just charge in recklessly but choose your fights and stay around people so as to not draw too much attention to yourself. Having a good team helps but really, Sentinel is imho the strongest pvp class in the game leveling up wise at least.
  4. Been playing the game since launch and the guild I initially joined have pretty much vanished. Starting to miss the social aspect of this game so now looking for a suitable guild to join. I'm 26 and would rather be playing with people closer to my age or older. Playstyle wise, I guess I am or was an altoholic however plan on stick it out as a Guardian and leveling from scratch. I'm more interested in pvp and wpvp than I am pve however I'd rather be doing a bit of everything if possible. Would want a casual guild though or one that is happy to take on more casual members as I don't want to be committing to more than a few hours each day to be fair. If interested, please leave a message here with either ingame name or a website where I can post an app.
  5. Dunno if anyone has experimented but was wondering how far you can go romancing Vette before you can no longer romance Jaesa? Want to try and get as much content as possible from my Mara without having to play through again. Alls I know is that once you start romancing both, Vette gets jealous and makes you choose.
  6. Jeff Hickman vs the Deathstar.. who do you think has the most destructive power?
  7. Yeah but didn't that expansion came out either before or around the same time as the NGE? Mentioning levels on SWG seems almost pointless. That was also a long time ago and JTL sure did bring an awful lot to the game. Going by today's expansion standards though, I really think a lot of people on here are expecting too much.
  8. Just going by the threads and responses I've seen, I can't help but wonder if referring to this as an expansion is a big big mistake. While what can only be described as sane/logical people are quick to point out the price, many people here are seemingly expecting big big BIG things from this expansion and a lot are even going as far as comparing it to a WoW expansion in terms of expectations. While I think most of us are realistic enough to realize it isn't on that level, I can still see this forum being in an uproar with people feeling underwhelmed by it all. PS: Expansion, or DLC, please please please include dual spec.
  9. With the announcement of the new digital expansion, I want to make a topic almost begging for BW/EA to make this something worth people getting behind. The story is imho, the only real stand out feature in this game and I think it's extremely important for them to deliver with this digital expansion and not give real fans a reason to point their finger accusing this of being a cash grab. On that note, I also think it's important that we as a community support the expansion as best as we can and to keep the faith in BW. As said previously, the story is probably the best feature of the game and we as a community need to encourage them as much as possible to focus on that instead of them ending up forcing to release fluff content every month designed to sell Cartel Market items. I'm also secretly hoping that the expansion will bring a proper endgame feel to the game and not be as dire as when the game first launched. Many of the people who initially quit done so because the end game was bad and was something done far better and more polished elsewhere. I feel that if this can be addressed as well as the content having that good ol Star Wars feel, then we could very well be onto a winner and might actually really breathe new life into the game.
  10. To be fair, I think anyone over 12 who thinks calling their character "pwnedlol" is funny needs to get a life.
  11. However Funcom are for sale and there are rumours around the internet suggesting EA might be buying them out.. we all know what that will mean for TSW's f2p model.
  12. Crushed my dreams of playing a Hobbit Marauder as fast as you made them, 1/10 for this thread
  13. I agree that topics like this are sad but I don't think that gives people the right to point the finger and go on some self entitlement rant. At least with threads like this there is actually a point to the rant, people used to point the entitlement finger just for asking for a patch or saying they are quitting.
  14. I think it's pretty sad when people have to come onto an MMO to defend a company by pointing the entitlement finger. I honestly couldn't care less about the little things but rewarding players for their loyalty by giving them rare things for staying subbed for a period of time has many many benefits for a company and I'm sure will persuade some ardent MMO collectors to keep a sub going when they usually wouldn't. Now that doesn't mean we are "entitled" to the stuff but that doesn't mean people on here need to go on some sort of self righteous you're not entitled to anything crusade.
  15. But but but but, if you could get rid of it, how will you be able to celebrate life day? How will EA milk you?
  16. No, no and NO! If TOR went B2P, EA would almost exclusively develop content for the cartel market. I really don't like B2P as it almost exclusively relies upon cash shop items to bring in enough revenue to develop new content. If EA done B2P, it'd be a lot worse than current games, heck they can't even get the freemium balance right without angering a lot of people. Ironically, I think the best model was that used by my first MMO over 10 years ago.. runescape. Back when I used to play, there was more than enough content for people to play without spending a dime. Then there was premium on offer which included more skills to level up, completely new premium only areas and exclusive dragon armor. The B2P model would work much better if they taken that approach by giving the basic game for free but having a lot of cool stuff exclusive for the real fans of the game who are happy to pay a monthly fee.
  17. Slightly cynical view but in reality, Christmas is a time to spend spend spend spend.. giving is accomplished by spending. I'm fairly certain that a staggeringly large percentage of all retail sales is made around Christmas time. While a good company that values it's customers might use the festive period to show that they care and give something back to the players who put them where they are, I would never expect anything of the sort from EA.
  18. That's probably the direction they want to take the game, as mentioned, Star Wars is the perfect game ip to release a bunch of cheaply made cash shop items and charge fans silly amounts for. If they keep this up, it'll eventually mean they'll lose the more experienced MMO players however they'll still make a decent profit I reckon.
  19. If the banks can't be held accountable for their actions, good luck with EA. Still, keep an eye on consumerist.com, when they start doing a poll for worst company in America again, we can at least show our gratitude to EA that way, they've earned it.
  20. See those sort of cartel packs with brand new items for people to get are exactly what they should be focusing on with the Cartel Market. You could argue the random nature of them are a bit dirty but from a business sense, it's very clever. Stuff like over-priced festive stuff including re-skinned lawnmowers with x-mas lights on them and p2w spaceship upgrades are taking it too imho and EA's greed showing less than a month since f2p/cartel market was introduced to the game. O and response to the topic title.. SHUP UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
  21. OP is spot on in a sense, discourage cheap-skates and bring in the ones who splash the cash. Just reading some people's responses today shows that this game has quite a high population of less experienced MMO players, most of which probably won't care or have experienced what p2w cash shops can do to a game. Still, will there be enough of those sort of people to keep the populations healthy? It will be an interesting year next year to see where EA takes the game and if they can get the cash shop balance right to keep people. Usually I'd think such an approach would be suicide however Star Wars is sadly the PERFECT game to reap the benefits of cash shops as there is a lot of Star Wars fans who probably won't think twice about spending $$$.
  22. Not interested in space missions in their current on rails form (assuming it's still like that) so not overly bothered however this is the equivalent of "epics" for your spaceship and you can buy them with money. It's brushing darn near close with pay to win for my liking. Makes me wonder if the life day items were to try and divert attention/hate away from this. Would explain why they are charging ridiculous amounts for a re-skinned lawnmower with x-mas lights on them.
  23. Hate SWG/sandbox as much as you fanboys want but if Disney allowed SOE to re-release SWG in the state of pre cu, this time next year, I'd put a large wager on SWG having more subs than SWTOR.
  24. Right here is the reason why BW need to add a like function for posts.
