  1. Great post. You would have an interesting time filling out #2 for some ACs howver.. for example, what is a DPS spec sage/sorc a direct counter to? Don't think you will find that "easy target" so easily, if at all
  2. First of all, with force shroud up, that sorc/sage in't going to being doing much except hoping to survive the initial burst, since that tankassin is immune. If the sage is alive after that point, you think that the sage DPS is going to win the fight? More likely the sage is going to survive long enough to get a friend to kill the tankassin. And by the way, i play both classes, on my sin, sorcs are easy, the other way around I don't kill tankassins, but I know them well enough to survive them or HELP kill them, but 1x1, forget it.
  3. You're ...less tan astute...unless you are referring to sorc/sage HEALERs who were GUARDED then I had to laugh...because DPS sorc/sages were never immortal , and are certainly not with the changes in 1.2. Please be a bit more precise, it's just this type of exaggeration that lead to many of the balance issues in 1.2
  4. or he very likely can't tell an assassin from a sage/sorc...lightning is lightning to some people:p
  5. Sages have more than a few tricks to escape death because there aren't many situations at level cap, in live, in which a DPS sage/ sorc will win in a 1x1. A healspec sage/sorc will be a bigger pain in a 1x1 but while not dying will likely not kill anyone either This looks to be even worse if 1.2 goes live based on hearsay. It's a class in the current release, which, if healing is extremely good. If DPSing a sorc/sage can survive in a group, take some pressure off heals and provide support, pull , etc. If a few group together they can support each other well, caught out in the open they are easy for most classes to kill as long as they can interrupt or slow. But I doubt that a lot of this will be as viable in 1.2 , especially in PVP.
  6. Ummm...no, unless he took off his gear, or was extremely undergeared relative to that sorc. Sorc/sage dps is average in live, will go down to bad (for PVP) in 1.2 as a previous poster has very eloquently explained. In the balance spec once again force is an issue and you kill too slowly. TK build doesn't give the mobility for PVP and the 31 pt skill is a joke for damage. Even in live, in hybrid, our burst is not "insane" ROFL, all it provide for DPS is very good consistent AOE and fantastic force management.
  7. Seriously, you must never have played at endgame when the bubble is taken down during one hit. We can't re-apply our bubble right away ... even more of a problem if a sage/sorc is DPS spec. Fine the way it is ty.
  8. Why feel bad about sage/sorc... the community will get what it whined for... the population will drop dramatically, many have un-subbed or re-rolled. In addition, a significant percentage of those willing to try 1.2 are concerned that DPS changes will result in boring/useless sors/sages, and healers will struggle and be either ineffective or continually stressed.

    CC

Fine- give SOME classes more burst, or new skills such as fear for example- a cc that doesn't break on damage, and take away a stun. You say your team-mates are always half-dead- game isn't built on 1x1. Some affects, such as whirlwind/force lift- can be dispelled. Cooperation is key

    CC

So, some suggestions - know when to use it (is your resolve bar filled or not), also where are your team- mates when this is happening?
  11. In years of playing MMOs, no, I haven' t had such a consistent combination of both poorly planned balancing , poor communication, suspect internal QA (internal testing) and badly executed PTS. So no, I should not be expected to "get used to it" when I am paying for what is supposed to be software developed by professionals.
  12. LOL. Sages do not get a 31/31/31 spec, although its too late given the mess that is 1.2..... Chances are OP is likely running 31 points in the healing tree...so he probably does not have ALL these capabalities, which come partially from fairly high up in the TK tree. If a sorc/sage specs for utility, IN GENERAL, they will give up something-- healing, DPS, etc. In this case, a healing sorc/sage won't likely have a bubble that blinds for example.
  13. Utility is NOT everything. You can't bring utility if you are dead. You can CC all day, but damage will break your CC. In other MMOs, if you have to go to a DOT spec, then they give you a skill so that you can CC AND DOT. Otherwise, you can pick a high DPS, glass cannon spec. In SWTOR, there are other classes that bring very good CC (I just gave one example of the top of my head, there are many others) and better DPS, with better survivability in 1.2. Our 31 pt balance skill takes 18 seconds to do its damage. The tree that should be the high DPS (TK) isn't used because no one has proven it it to work well...
  14. Agreed. By the way, anyone notice this from the Q& A? For example, we reopened the internal debate about having an in-combat resurrect ability for Mercenaries/Commandos based on PTS feedback regarding the new Operations, in light of the higher utility value this ability brings to the table in 1.2. PLease - add it to Mercs/Comms, because they will likely need to rez the sage.
  15. I see a lot of requests for open world PVP with objectives, which would be good, but having played other faction-based MMOs in the past, I know what it's like when the factions are unbalanced. So, my question is, are there ANY plans to work on improving the current faction imbalance on many servers, in which usually the Republic is outnumbered, so that either one faction doesn't die out, or so future activities such as open world PVP aren't horribly imbalanced?
  16. Agreed. By level 37 you should have enough skills to deal with sorcs/sages ( I play both inq and sage), while shadows get skills later, a tank spec shadow should make a sorc cry
  17. First of all--it wasn't really a "slight nerf" in some cases. I'll take just ONE example- why touch a hybrid spec, which people used because the 31 point trees really weren't very good- IF you don't improve those 31 point skills? "Forcing re-rolls" not only insults people, because it assumes that they selected that class because it was "OP" or "FOTM" but it also assumes that they will choose another class on a whim, when they may have made a major investment in that class, or in a raiding group. For example- in the case of sorc/sage- its really the only caster class- that's the reason a lot of people selected it- what would they re-roll to ? especially if they happen to want to heal.
  18. Wins my vote for troll post of the day
  19. Your ignorance is showing. AS JBloom explained earlier, here's a typical rotation: Ok, I use Restoration, Force Potency, Telekinetic Throw, Weaken Mind, Mind Crush, FiB, Force Stun, Force Speed, Force Wave, Force Lift, Force Slow, Force Quake, Project, Disturbance, Tk Wave or Sever Force, Force Armor, Deliverance, Benevolence, Rescue in pretty much constant rotation. Not to mention my WZ Stim, my medpac and my two relics. So that's...22 different buttons, many of which I have to constantly watch for CDs. I also have procs that I have to watch for such as Psychic Projection and Presence of Mind. I also get targeted first in every encounter. It may look easy to play a sage but I assure you that against geared/skilled opponents it is no walk in the park. You must be thinking about your rotation... might want to talk to some sages/sorcs next time before posting...
  20. If you played both classes, you would realize it is quite challenging for a sorc/sage to succeed against an assassin. Force shroud? please look it up. In essence, an assassin can combine both stealth, burst plus invulnerability to force attacks so unless the sorc/sage survive the initial attack and doesn't panic, that sorc/sage is very easily defeated.
  21. You took flak because generally... you make little sense....like this post....sorry. It has nothing to do with OP's post. What do you want...a pat on the back....please stay on topic.
  22. Great post, should be stickied
  23. Thank you, this gave me a good laugh next time I hear anyone say "pass the ball noob" if I've just been whirlwinded/jolted etc
  24. Very well put. And if , as others have expressed, they are so good at playing as a team, and using strategy, then they should give up the crutch and all of the advantages that twinks use and level to 50. Twinks always have *good reasons* to justify what is basically bullying. -my gear isn't good -my friends haven't levelled -endgame is boring But in the end, they are only fooling themselves. And by the way OP--- I would not, technically, categorize it as griefing. And I am speaking for twinks in warzones.
  25. If you just want people to agree with you, I wouldn't post in a public forum. They've pretty much pointed out good reasons NOT to implement what you've asked for, insulting them doesn't improve your case either. Time to move along....
