  1. Seriously one of the stupidest myths....basically you probably haven't read any of the previous posts outlining melee/ranged CD discrepancies and why they may not be ABLE to kite in some situations?
  2. ONE stun please, well, in most cases...I had to correct this because yes, you can talent on the AOE stun...but if you are 31 balance forget that one. And bubble will only prolong that view from the respawn for a little while in ranked WZ.
  3. As was pointed out in another thread prveviously when you said this, by multiple players, this makes no sense whatseoever- within the context of PVP. That setup is ridiculously long, for one thing. In addition, you were overstaing the damage as I recall when you first estimated the damage. There's a good reason it isn't done in PVP- you'd be dead youself trying to set it up-- "casual" or not;)
  4. gone after 1 hit, it does have some utility, yes, and we can choose to spend points to add the mez, etc...but without scaling... compare that to , let's say, force shroud, off the top of my head.....no.....it needs help.
  5. Speaking of BS....see above. 1- We don't have defensive cooldowns. 2- Sprint can be snared , and is on a longer CD tan several snares. 3- Kiting requires space and mobility, i.e. not being snared (see above). YOU are not only not doing it (since you don't sound like you even play a sage/sorc) but your theory crafting is messed up as well. I'm not saying that kiting is never possible, not at all, just that it is not at lall always feasible, nor is it the solution - neither healing nor DPS "completely own" since 1.2. against competent teams.
  6. Do you actually play that spec? No Then I doubt that you have played that spec and realize that it is not (a) very viable in any semi-competent environment or (b) really not insane burst in any capacity whatsoever in anyone who is geared...since anyone who is geared will have likely >17 k HP, and will be more mobile than a TK sage. Actually, take that back, you shouldn't even have to play a sage to know this:rolleyes:
  7. You're joking, right? Ever try to stand still in a WZ and cast...full TK isn't anything great... You must be comparing TK sage to ...actually I don't know what ...certainly not to most other ACs... ROFL
  8. Do you play a sorc/sage? because the above seems misleading... Last time I counted: ONE pull, ONE stun, ONE sprint. Stun on a fairly long CD, pull on a medium CD. Most classes have an interrupt.
  9. Problem with this declaration about low survivability is it does not translate to SWTOR AT ALL. By taking such a simplistic view, you completing ignore, for example, the fact that not all sages/sorcs run healing spec. They do not have the high burst DPS to compensate for the current disparity in survivability in WZs.If you want to compare to other MMOs, a typical glass cannon wearing light armour with CC capability can still have hight burst, or can be a dot-based spec with CCs that don't break on dots. In SWTOR, sorc/sages do not have "many stuns" for example, in any spec, nor do they have 100x the utility of other classes- yes, they have more than some AC, but other AC have more DC, defensive CDs, etc. I suspect you want low survivability for easy kills.
  10. sooo- don't read it? and if it's just a waste, why reply to it? Seriously, you aren't the forum police... anyone can post whatever thy want as long as the TOS are respected. No need to attack anyone because you don't like the topic today. Just read another thread or /ignore.
  11. No, depending upon the spec, sorc/sage is not very mobile- there is only one spec in fact that is, and it is a DPS spec. TK is static, healing is pretty static, only balance (using the sage terminology) is mobile. In addition, there aren't a lot of kiting skills.
  12. which means relatively little in the end.You are comparing two fundamentally different classes even if specced into DPS.
  13. I saw that, among other things, and just shook my head. I play both sage and sin. OP has NO clue on how to play sage/sorc. Only thing out of his whole post that made sense is that a 50 sin in the same scenario would give the marauder a good run for his money. DPS sage/sorc would probably just be running , o or if lucky annoying that marauder, or drawing him off somewhere.
  14. L2post please. Where is the evidence for any of your statements? easy to troll.
  15. Must be a troll post. " Sorcerers/Sages are utility/support classes now." This was true BEFORE 1.2. and any good sorc/sage reailzed this (i am addressing DPS spec). "but your role is to find friends and hide behind them" - think about this- who wants to play an AC like this, seriously? no, anyone with a choice, and we DO have it, either rerolls or is on there way to GW2 or TERA, etc. "You don't want to draw any attention to your hiding spot" You really must play against bad teams.... enough said.
  16. Agreed, as I was trying ,as I was trying to use in the example of sage/sorc earlier, as I know it best (although I play it another class as well). If a team wants a DPS, sage should be as good a choice as another to fill in a spot. It should not be mandatory for the sage to run exclusively healing spec to PVP ALL the time. Same applies to other ACs but I see BW shoehorning people into anything from either only one viable spec in some cases, or several meh specs, or OP.
  17. Very well said. I'd just like to add one small thing thing- OP is also not realistic in that forcing players into specific roles is neither realistic nor fun. I will take just one example-- sorc/sage is played as DPS spec AS WELL as heal spec, even if OP views that PVP should be centred on the team, it completely ignores what should be a vaiable choice. I'm sure there are other examples that can be found.
  18. I think that most sorcs/sages are smart enough after 1 resspawn in a wz not to "face-tank". However, if you want to talk about these 'escape abilities" they can and are countered easily. There are not "so many" escape abilities, force speed for example is on a CD and can be countered, force slow is useful, other abilities will fill the resolve bar. Melee have many gap closers are short CDs. Not saying that kiting is not at all feasible but don't exaggerate about how easy it is, depending upon the group you face.
  19. To be honest, you are contradicting yourself. how can sorc/sage DPS be so good if everyone knows they can kill them ? Fact is, the DPS is not where it should be , and the utility is good but does not compensate for what other classes bring to the table which can also include utility, defensive CDs and much higher DPS.
  20. unless OP you play class that no one ever lists as a hard counter for another class...OR most people will admit has to run away to survive OR has to always get someone else. Basically, if you almost never can win 1x1 against any class due to lousy balancing then a game isn't fun. Before you list this as more QQ- the reality is that whether you compare 1x1 or group PVP, it can be faceroll for some classes respawn after respawn for others.
  21. sure if you combine a DPS sage PLUS a healing sage (or sorc) please learn to read skill trees, thank you
  22. erm--sorcs don't have stealth? and heal spec sorcs don't have "Reasonably high DPS"

    Sage OP

so let's see: force bubble is "too good" - absorbs around 2.5 or 3 k when we know what some ACs can crit at now:p - force speed has (1) a CD, and (2) you can be slowed - other classes have a fair amount of CC, and ever hear of the resolve bar? Given the above, and I could go into more, that makes sages/sorcs far from "gods". And btw, one bubble on a team won't win a match ( although I am always all for it)
  24. 1- you really cannot compare 10-49 wz and 50 2- lol@ 100 k healing, as a DPS spec sage, with bubble, and self-heals, that is almost useless, really- it really doesn't help the team THAT much, I throw up bubbles on people and get 70 k You are really focussing on an AC that has been nerfed .... and looking at numbers that are fairly low as well, and not even at endgame WZs.
  25. thank you for trying to be logical , agree with you 1000x, but unfortunately people just like to see big numbers and either go and QQ or go and roll that class. You won't do crap as a sage/sorc (DPS spec) against a good team in terms of kills but you can support your team, get objectives, and harass the other team- draw them out, dot them, etc. But please, as so well pointed out above, those big numbers may mean you provide some pressure,, but in many cases, they don't do squat in terms of actual kills.
