  1. At least the Community Team Update has increased feedback on important issues and kept everyone in the loop, even if it is to tell us they are fine with how Maras are.... oh wait....
  2. Devs are seriously hurting players who only like to play 1 side, regardless if they believe you should try both sides. I'd take a guess that the "probably" comment might relate to a unlock that works with legacy on both sides or a legacy you can unlock with credits and therefore have to choose to spend the credits or time to unlock the requirement, anything less is flawed to limit content that your side should be able to get. I don't expect Imps to have the ability to get content restricted for Repub and vice versa but if the droid CAN be obtained on Rep side, it should always have the ability to ascertain it without needing something on the Imp side, otherwise add 2 droids restricted to each side.
  3. I agree that I don't think the changes are ground-breaking in PvP but of more significance in PvE, yet without real testing hard to tell. The fact that the defensive cooldowns on Sents/Warriors have not been touched is disheartening, reducing duration or increasing cooldown alone would be effective steps forward.
  4. Looking at it subjectively the change to the Relics and Adrenals is a good thing; however, consider situations where DPS can NOT take down someone because of a situation where a pure Tank is getting heals from at least 2 healers, the only effective way to kill that setup was using a strong burst setup which DID need adrenals. Most of know that regardless of "testing" on PTS, the true effects of these changes will only ever be evident when 1.3 hits live.
  5. I would say most Respecs that happen are done away from the fleet are while levelling and there cost of 200k is a lot to sink into the ability at lower levels. 200k at level 50 is nothing for the ability to respec from anywhere, so I don't buy the argument of cost there, it saves you time to go back to the fleet and or fleet pass cooldowns etc, but as my point stands that you really would use a field respect during levelling and therefore the cost does not stack correctly for that purpose, if the actual cost to respec remain the same the cost to buy the luxury of doing such should be say 50k.
  6. Duffy is what I wish the Devs were like.
  7. So best of luck getting a decent server choice or stick in your low population server? #wherearethegooddevsat
  8. Interesting read. I know details are spoken about DPS/Tanking updates, but are those the only changes coming in 1.3? or additional updates not specifically mentioned?
  9. The original point that a level cap quickly outdates current content is very true, because you HAVE to add new gear with that level cap and while the "best" gear at current cap will most likely be better than the "lowbie" gear at the next few levels, it will eventually be out dated against that stuff. For me the level cap is to get those with alts playing even more to get them to the level cap and this game WANTS you to have plenty of alts, so basically level cap is meant to be a global increase in content and will of course detract from current level ops/flashpoints unless they scale upwards + rewards etc (but rarely do they do that as its just seen a recycling old content and would look bad on BW at this early stage.)
  10. What surprises me more is how many Infil specs ignore Kinetic Field, which if you factor in some of the hardest hitting attacks is a big skill when at 30% reduction.
  11. In this game, where the Devs/game design openly encourage multiple alts in a variety of classes, have you stuck to your Shadow since day 1? Before the game even came out and classes were revealed I wanted to play the Shadow (even before Shadow was shown I just wanted to play a class with a Double Bladed LS) and the class was a perfect fit for me and the fact we are awesome in our roles when played correctly is a great bonus. The Shadow seemed a very underplayed class at the start, I remember seeing a Shadow about was rare, until we started being called the FOTM class and then everybody seemed to have a Shadow alt. I can honestly say I am one of those who has stuck by my Shadow since beta and is the only class I play and still love the variety I can choose with the class.
  12. Yea, seen that ability done by NPCs a lot, infact the Illum NPC that uses that AOE ability also uses a Shadow Step to appear behind you, so expect that to be added soon as well. Hopefully the skill has different effects in different stances, i.e upfront damage in Shadow, bleeds in Force and defensive buff in Combat.
  13. Any level cap in a game has generally been with a purchase requirement, not sure I think SWTOR can justify getting the base to spend more money on that with everything that has gone on thus far.
  14. While it is good to introduce yourselves, as always the proof is in the work itself, hopefully your efforts will assist the community but if all you are doing is being a typing admin between Devs and us, then it really doesn't help the community much at all, I hope I am wrong.
  15. I honestly hope no one is "forced" to go to Fatman as it will be at the loss of other "good" server communities or prevent that ever being the case. Most things I've heard is how Fatman does have generally lower standard of PvP, but then with a large group of players you are more likely to see that, there are always more bad players in PvP than good.

    Resolve Redux

I think the bigger issue is the issue on understanding how you get resolve on you, it can only happen from these situations:- Mez - All your abilities are locked but you can break out of this if your ability to do so is up, If hit you are released from the lock, generally lasts 8s, though the Operative one lasts 10s but you will notice the operative one fills the entire resolve bar whereas the 8s one does not (Why? well think about the time it takes to cap a node etc). Stun - All your abilities are locked but you can break out of this if your ability to do so is up Breakable Stun - A stun but any attack from a hostile will break you from it so you can clear it with the ability to break stuns, but not really the best idea. Knocked Down - Can not break from this and completely immune for the duration Knock Back - Not a stun/lock of any sort but you can be knocked a distance back or off an edge etc Pulled - Again, not a stun/lock but you are pulled to the target. Now I know I can lock down a target for 16s with 2x Mez if we both are out of combat and the enemies ability to break out of it is down, but that is as stated completely based on both parties being out of combat, so not the best, but used correctly very helpful. I can effectively lock down a target in-combat for 10-12s if no one else is hitting it with a variety of skills and my force cloak being available BUT 4s of that means I can not hit them and they have no CC break up, after the 10 (max 12s) they will have resolve. The bigger problem is how roots do not effect resolve in any way, slows I agree are a different matter but roots should apply to them and also the ratio of going full resolve - none, I have to see a valid pattern on why sometimes I instantly start ticking down and sometimes hold a few seconds. I think they need to add extra resolve points to each ability, right now the AOE stuns are a pain and also how you can easily be totally locked for 8s in combat while taking full damage. How about they did it that ANY CC = inc damage reduction buff.
  17. If you want to play with the numbers add your character to http://www.askmrrobot.com/ and then play about with mods/changes to see exactly how your numbers will adjust without having to spend a credit in-game. Also note, that make sure your current setup matches in-game before adding/removing, and be sure to add everything from abiltites/stance and legacy buffs from companions and datacrons you have etc.
  18. Annoying since I always get my weekly done on the same day and turned it in already... grr....
  19. There are a a LOT of Tank Shadows/Assassins these days from FOTM players, but I do enjoy destroying those players with my Infil Shadow. Be careful on how you rate players though, WH gear makes a difference so a Tank in WH gear will be harder to kill if you are not on the same level, understandably, but most ppl are not there yet. That being said, I was in a WZ yesterday where the enemy team had 5 Tank Assassins and it was Voidstar, the WZ which tanks/healers can dominate easily. The problem then becomes focus fire, high burst can kill Tanks easily with focus if you time everything within reason, I've played the Tank build plenty and very strong with it, but then you also learn the weaknesses.
  20. << insert anyone who has been seen with green gear that is several levels old >> As a Infil I've hit a 6.8k crit on a player who must have been wearing ...... lvl 1 gear?
  21. While I understand the point and requirement of server transfers, why that is being done BEFORE merging servers is beyond me (other than a way to generate more money from players before they eventually leave). All I can see happening is players move from a "dead" server to another one, then that "dead" server becomes even more of a ghost town and the players who don't move will basically quit the game. All this BS of "joining your friends" is laughable, I know I would have rolled on friends servers to start with but then the whole guild placement at the start forced us to be on a server anyway and then put the effort on us choosing to ignore that effort if we wanted to go on another. My guess is they hope the dead servers are the ones they merge with others after transfers are said and done, but I think that will make them lose a of players before that ever happens.
  22. Lesson 1: Don't trust everything you read from anyone working on SWTOR That is about as much as you can obtain from all of this, they have let the community down on many things and do we think it will end there? unlikely. I was going to say it was a good gesture to admit the mistake, but frankly with the number of witnesses to the event they had to do that, just to not look like they were purposely trying to cover something up.
  23. I have seen someone using the speed hack once and that was in illum a few months back, but other than that I can't say I have come across anyone I would say was hacking anything to the point it was obvious. Searching google will yield hacks but the core problem is people will vote against others if they simply do not like them or got beaten by them or spoken down by them.
  24. Snipers are good and can put out some serious DPS, but I rarely have trouble with them as a Shadow Kinetic or Shadow Infiltration, but that of course has a lot to do with the fact you can sneak up to them and we can use force speed for distance as well. The big thing is the difference between a good and bad sniper, a bad sniper I can leave alone and focus down other people but a good sniper has to be a primary target, allowing free casting high DPS for any class is a bad idea.
