  1. Muahha if HK-Whatever ends up in the cash shop there's going to be a *****torm! Muahhaha
  2. I played Rift from launch but always thought it to be a filler game until Swtor came out. I was always impressed by their content updates and I really, really enjoyed my time in Rift. I knew very quickly after launch that I enjoyed Rift far more than Swtor. It was just more fun. Unfortunately, Rift's pop took such a hit and it apparently has not recovered, and that's really detered me from going back - that and their 1 week transfers, everyone is too transient... It's a shame really, Rift really is a good game.
  3. You guys are seriously still asking why we haven't had a content update for the past 4+ months? http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/367/feature/6609/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic-Free-to-Play-This-Fall.html Since they started layoffs in May they have focused all of their development team on rebuilding the game to accomodate f2p and a cash shop. Hence why in May any communication we had from the Devs basically stopped. Honestly. How do you think them coming out and saying "1.4 will be delayed indefinitely until we finish the f2p conversion" would go over? Would you still sub knowing that there is no new content on the horizon? Other than a cash shop of course.
  4. They do ask for ideas. The problem is it appears that they always seem to take the easy way out. For example, character race options. Reskinned humans. Polls were created. What races would you like to see? According to Daniel E, their "Metrics" showed Cathar. Really? Who believes that tripe. I'm sure their metrics also show people love space combat too.
  5. That's why I included the last link in the original OP. I really do cut Bioware some slack, especially Mr. Ohlen. For all intents and purposes I really do believe that they meant to give us this "epic" innovative experience. He really did believe EA was going to keep the team together and pump out this monthly, voiced, high-quality content that now appears to be, an ... unrealistic expectation. Now I digress. At this point given layoffs etc, if Bioware actually came out and made further grandiose claims knowing what they know do, I would tend to fall in the broken promise camp.. i.e- bleed em while we can. But what is ticking so many people off right now is that they're not saying anything!
  6. Until you realized, "Ah @#@#, in order to get in 8 of us have to beat up on this one droid."
  7. Touche! Cept that one raid encounter was the first very encounter of the very first raid they launched with. To say 8 people beating up on a droid isnt heroic, and then make your game's first raid start with 8 people beating up on one droid seems kind of contradictory. And yeah I agree with 8 droids beating on you and your companion is heroic. Scratch that, packs of 3-4. All of them standing around idly until you run up to them and engage.
  8. Unfit dullards are people who eat up everything they're told and believe it, and don't question things when they turn out not to be true. But that's besides the point. The point of this thread was to ask if Bioware really intended what they had originally promised, or whether or not they just realized somewhere in the development process that engine limitations, for example, prevented them from making the "epic boss battles, massive pvp" that they intended.
  9. Unfortunately, half the people taking the suggestions at the guild summit have probably been laid off. It's possible that whatever MMO project they work on next will have ready checks, guild calenders, and capital ships.
  10. Yeah I'm inclined to agree with you here. Post layoffs swtor probably can't put out that level of content regularly with the team they now have.
  11. And how does 8 people beating up on one droid take combat to a new level.
  12. I wasn't referring to the open beta either, I was referring to closed beta. I was one of the people that liked the modding in earlier builds, and also one of the hundreds of posters who complained after they simplified it in the build prior to open beta. My experience was that generally most people loved the original mod system, so why was it changed? Why were the important choices taken out? It wasn't because of "player feedback". It was because it dawned on them that "Oh crap, we're going to have to develop more new story branches each time someone kills x or y off".
  13. I'd agree with you somewhat, however I remember the testing forums being littered with hundreds of posts about how the game was too linear, lacked innovation, customization was horrible, what choices? (even before we even knew about gifts). We can't even begin to tackle the whole combat issue because they didn't even let us test endgame, it was all done by their "secret" team.
  14. Haha he even used the exact words "take it to a new level" lol.
