Please....enough with the car analogies.....Just stop them already. They do not work.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. All the features that are heavily requested do not make or break the game. Do you honestly think that somebody that absolutely hates everything about WoW will play it just because it has a combat log? If you need to quit this game because of no combat log, it is not the game's fault.

And they should make Hoth have very low visibility like in the movies!

Maybe people just should not get as hyped as people are getting now? Too much hype can break even the greatest game of all time. I stayed away from anything related to this game until the day I bought it. I did not want to be hyped up for it.

For goodness sake people. If you like this game: Great If you hate this game: Great, but why are you still here weeks after you stopped playing? Here is a clue to everyone: I found WoW to be EXTREMELY boring after I got to level 85. I found that game to be very boring when making alts, and I do not like doing dailies day after day after day. I do not like doing the same dungeons day after day. I honestly cannot see how people can say this game is very repetitive but WoW is not. I never once did anything differently for at least a month. Sometimes I would do dailies in a different area, but I was still doing the same quests daily. You do not see me on the WoW forums complaining. Find a game you enjoy. I have almost spent as much in-game playtime in this game than in my 1.5 years of WoW. What gives you the right to make the people that like this game feel bad about it? Have you ever heard of personal taste? Or do you just expect everybody to like the exact same music, movies, tv shows, games, hobbies, ... as you? Giving this game above an 8 makes it a "paid off review"? I am sorry, but everybody I know agrees with the rating. People have opinions. Leveling from 1-50 is AMAZING. This is a game where I actually like creating alts. I have 1 main and 4 alts at the moment, and I just made another one at level 1.

Yes there is, I have looked it up on WoW. They tell you use ability X, then Y, then Z, back at X when cooldown is done, and so on.... They usually list it as Death Knight Blood Spec Damage Guide or something.

I think a damage meter does more harm than good. Some people abuse this and create websites that have the perfect "rotation" At that point it is not really a game anymore is it?

I agree. Highest possible DPS =/= a great thing to have. I had numerous times in WoW where I would out-threat the tank and get aggro because my DPS was too high. But hey, if I die every fight but I get the highest DPS I can that is ok right?

You need to read what he is saying. There is a reason why people use the "trinity" is because it is good strategy. No guild will say just attack whoever and however you want. There should always be tank/healer/dps. I have been able to get buy without tanks or healers a few times in this game and in WoW. This is one of the thins I hate about MMOs these days, and with random grouping like in WoW. The tank would just go ahead and attack the next group without waiting for the rest of us to be ready (heal, gain mana or whatever, and worry about strategy). This is why I am glad my friend (who played WoW since TBC) is a tank primarily and I am a healer primarily. It really annoys me the way some people play this game and WoW. So bottom line: you could get by with all 5 DPS, but a better strategy would be to have a tank or healer to make it easier.

For goodness sake stop with the car analogies. Game development and car manufacturing are no where close to the same thing. If you must compare this with cars, here we go. You are literally putting your life on the line everytime you drive. You could potentially have a wreck next week. Car manufactures HAVE certain rules and guidelines that they MUST follow. Yeah lets release a car without airbags! I see people still driving old cars that do not have power steering. Do all cars have Ford's Sync feature? No Are all cars the same size? No Can every car fit my entire family and cousins of 7? No Can every car carry the same things? No Does every car have a DVD player? No Does every car have a 20-disc CD player? No What EVERY car does have is the basic mechanical and RULES applied. No, are we done with the crappy car analogies? We are not comparing this game to a game 20 years ago, so why do people feel the need to compare car A to a 20 year old car B as a reasonable argument? The fact that this game has the same basic elements as WoW, does not mean it is a direct competitor. I believe BW themselves said they were not trying to compete with WoW. Rift is more of a direct WoW competitor than this game. This game's PRIMARY market is the Star Wars / KOTOR / Bioware fans, NOT WoW fans. When I first saw Rift, I thought: "I like WoW, so I might like this game" When I first saw this game, I thought: "It looks like the next KOTOR, and I love Star Wars." You honestly believe that some person is going to go to a store, look at both WoW and SWTOR and have such a difficult time choosing that they need to start a feature checklist?! If you are more into the fantasy type like dragons, elves, and orcs, then you will lean towards WoW. If you are a die hard Star Wars fan, or like more of a space drama sort of thing, you will lean more towards SWTOR. Nobody is going to go to the store and say: "Well I hate everything about WoW, but it has a LFG tool so I HAVE to get that instead of SWTOR". This....game.....is.....new So you do not like that they spent so much time on voice overs. You know what? That is ok. But understand it is ok for the majority of the people to like them. I, and everybody I know, actually prefers that they spent so much time on this aspect instead of the number of features requested here. Do not get me wrong, I would love to see some of the features requested, but can we please stop being impatient? What is done is done. What is the point of complaining about it endlessly? So BW will hear you? They already have. They cannot code faster because 10 more people have posted wanting feature X. You know, when developers are rushed too much, that is when the most of the bugs show up right? Give them some time, unless you want a LFG tool that might make your game crash because IT HAD TO BE IN THE GAME YESTERDAY!!!!!

They can certainly take pointers and ideas from the leader of MMOs, but market it to a different audience.

SWTOR is marketed toward the KOTOR/Star Wars/Bioware fan, not WoW clients. Rift is more of a WoW-target audience. I can understand that even MMOs can be completely different. Again, they are two different games and markets. WoW might have the best value to YOU, but the fact that WoW has this while ToR does not have this will not affect the general public. Most people that I know that play this game and play WoW love this game. Why? Star Wars. That is the primary target audience.

I agree. It is okay to like this game, it is okay to hate this game. You can whine all you want about the features, but if BW says they do not want to implement it, you know that is okay too. "Different strokes for different folks". I love the way they have their GTN set up. Yes it could use a general search box, but I love everything else about it. I HATED WoW's AH, I just HATED it. I had to get a bunch of add-ons to make it bearable. I love the UI in this game, and I love the STOCK WoW UI just fine. I do not know why people need to mod it or if it is not customizable, the game will automatically fail. Out of all the MMOs I have played, I have never changed the default UI. This was never meant to be a WoW killer. They never said anywhere that it would be. And frankly, no game will ever be a WoW killer, not even Blizzard's Titan, unless they severely cripple WoW like they are doing with Pandas and Pokemon. To those that say it needs to compete because you will see both boxes in the store and NEED to compare them: No you do not. You like Star Wars? Get ToR You like Fantasy? Get WoW I doubt a person that hates every aspect of WoW will say "...but hey it has the LFD tool so I will buy that instead!" They are two completely different targets. SOME might play both, but their target audience is mostly KOTOR/Star Wars/Bioware fans NOT WoW fans.

Yeah that was my point, but you said it better I wont deny that these features would have been better at launch, but I can forgive them because *TO ME* they brought what I really wanted in an MMO: Focus on story. Again: to me, since I know somebody will say the story sucks. I mean I already have 186 hours /played on all characters. On WoW I have over 300 because I only played that on the weekends, and I deleted a few early characters. Other than that, the only game that comes close is Final Fantasy X, at 115 hours. Personally, I got my money's worth already, even for 6 more months of subscription fees!

Not at all. My problem is with the people that whine about these features. It is fine if we have a reasonable discussion, but boy am I tired of "I quit: here is why" and find "no feature X/tool Y" in their list of reasons. It would be fine if it was every once and a while, but man it is like 5 of these posts a day and it is annoying. My problem is also how impatient people are. The devs know people want these things, but they have priorities. They need to fix some big bugs before they work on feature X. And what is to say they do not have Joe the programmer working on it as we speak?

During the leveling process, you really do not need the LFD tool. I have to wait a lot longer in WoW sometimes than in this game during the leveling heroics. I have to wait for 40 minutes sometimes in WoW before I can get the Ready from the dungeon tool. That is with way more players too, so I do not think the LFD tool will make things become a 10 second queue time like everybody thinks. The most I had to wait in this game is 10 minutes. Maybe that is because I am on a heavy server, who knows. Yes I am a casual player and yes I do what you mentioned. But so far, I have been able to find groups fairly fast, so I do not see it as an issue. I am paying them for a game. Even if they never update the game or release new content again, I would still pay. The reason is because, next to WoW, this game is the longest I have played a game. I pay the same amount (without the monthly fee of course) for console games that only last 10 hours at most (without playing multiplayer). I am already 8 days /played on one character, and he is only level 41. I have 5 other characters I am leveling too. Those characters have at least 1 day /played each. I do not want to take my time to pester BW because I do not use those features. The only one I ever used in WoW was the LFD tool.

If you think people threatening to cancel subscriptions because of a couple of features are missing is "improving the game" you are mistaken. I wish all of the features you listed were in this game, I do. But my point is, they are not NEEDED. The majority of players are not ones to do PVP day in and day out. The majority of players are the casuals. They are in it for the leveling. They do not want to raid constantly or do any of the end game grind. Therefore, those features are not NEEDED. Have you been on the forums long? Every day there are like 6 new threads about how LFD tool/ X tool/ Feature Y is not in this game....ADD IT NOW!!!

You cannot be serious? Comparing what I said to ET? It seems everybody missed the heavily advertised focus of this game: STORY. Not PVP, but story. Did you not read that guild banks are on their way?

So you want a never ending story? What a shocker that the story stops at level cap! And it does have relevance to your character. Light/Dark alignment based on the decisions you make. The companions you gather throughout the story makes you able to use them later. Say what you want about the results and no matter how small they are, but the fact is yes it does impact your character at level 50. If I just do PVP instead of my class quests, I do not think I will magically get my companions without going through the story after level 50.

That....is....your...opinion I LOVE the story lines, all of them (I have 6 characters, I need 2 more to get all the storylines). You want to talk about crappy story? Look at WoW. It might have a story, but the quest logs became so ridiculous I stopped reading them at level 10. Yes I do know they have books on WoW, but I am not reading those. Again, this is your opinion. I love that the focused all of their time in the leveling portion. I love the stories. THIS IS MY OPINION TOO!

List the features that this game needs to be playable please.

Again: Since when does game X need EVERY SINGLE THING that EVERY other MMO has? When did it become a sin to do things differently? If you do not like this game, ok. But do not come here and whine because it does not have the exact features, content, classes, and whatever that WoW does. Maybe you are looking for....WoW then!

This is what is wrong with the gaming community today. All of the sudden, it has become a sin to try to do things differently, or try to focus on 90% of the game instead of the 10% which is end game content. EVERY MMO does not need EVERY single feature of EVERY other MMO to be successful. Seriously, it is like people want WoW with lightsabers.

Please explain to me how this game is so unbelievably terrible like everybody is claiming? Because it does not have a few tools or a combat log? Really? That is what makes this the OMG WORST GAME EVER? Yes there are bugs. But you know what, last time I played WoW, I still found bugs. People need to realize that when this game was in the middle of development, most of the tools were not even in WoW yet. They could have added it in towards the end of the development, but they wanted to focus on STORY instead. If that is not for you, well then this is not your game. I am really getting sick of all the complainers on this forum, and in general. How horrible that a Star Wars game focuses on Story or Companions. Yeah the Star Wars movie would be just as good without Chewbacca and R2-D2. So just because this game does not have a LFD tool, you are rage quiting this game and moving on to the next one? Ok. Most of the people complaining here will never be happy with another MMO again I an guarantee you that. Most of the stuff people are wanting is coming, just give the developers some time geez.

Yet everybody that agrees with this seems to be forgetting one thing: Yes ToR has had millions and millions spent on it, but World of Warcraft has had billions and billions spent over 10 years.
