  1. Many MMOs are like that. There is not much story after you reach max in most MMOs, unless you go back and do old quests. If there was more story, you would not be at max level. Max level people like to hang out in the major cities (in the case of WoW, Horde side spends most of their time at Orgrimaar). For this game, I expect many level 50s will stay around areas like the space station.
  2. Tell me, what can you do in WoW that you cannot do in this game? After 7 years, you have more options of doing the same thing. MANY dungeons, raids, crafting, and more dailies. Am I missing something that WoW does that this game does not? To be honest, I am not a PVP person, so I just did my crafting and that stuff when I got to 85. As much as I enjoy "companion gathering", maybe they should have left it like WoW. Man I spent MANY hours getting my leatherworking up on my WoW character. If they left it this way, I am sure people would complain that they need to gather themselves.
  3. Wow, I do not see why people rush. I have been playing for a good 30 hours (I got early access, so I have been playing my character since then) and I am only on level 17. Some people are saying to create a secondary character, and others are saying they would not do the same quests over again, but want more dailies. This does not make sense. Even in WoW, the dailies are the exact same quests. I have done a group of dailies probably 20 times. So for those 20 days, I did the exact same quests. Now you might say if there were MANY dailies, it would be okay. But this guy rushed to level 50, you think he is going to take the dailies slow? After dailies, there is pretty much the same thing to do in WoW as this game. If you maxed out your crafting.......Drop one of them and explore another crafting skill. Create another character and play the other side. Why are people so against multiple characters? I plan to have one for every type, so this game will have me for a couple of years!
  4. And if it was locked, wouldn't you have more complainers because that is where their friends or guild members are? I believe they said they did not want to lock the servers due to "your choice" and allowing the client to choose whatever they want.
  5. I am not an apologist. I am a realist. You expected NO queues from a game that was hyped up this much? What about the other MMOs that had queues at launch (which has been every single MMO I believe), you can forgive them but oh no this game has no excuse for queues? WoW had queues at launch, and after expansion releases, but their queues did not break their success. You would rather have the servers be so crowded that it will crash and NOBODY (on that server) will be able to play until it is fixed?
  6. A few people brought up some arguments about not having hours of time and jobs and such. I am the same way. I do not have that much time, it took me 6 months to get to level 70 on WoW. Hmm well lets see, people are saying they are spending night after night sitting in the queue and not getting the chance to play.....OR you can create a side character and actually play instead of staring at the screen. You are saying you DO have the time to sit in queue, but you DO NOT have the 2 seconds to log on to a secondary character? If you can only play 2 hours, and you have an hour queue, chances are you will not be able to play your main character. So you choose what to do, but again it is your choice.
  7. Well it is your decision. You still have the functionality to PLAY the game, so I do not see where peoples arguments come in that they "Spent $60 and CANNOT PLAY!!!!". Give it a couple of weeks, and you will have NO problems (well maybe, but it WILL be better at least) getting on to your main character.
  8. You are saying you do not have the functionality to create a side character on a LIGHT server to pass the time? Like I said, I know the server you are on has *your* character on it and probably a decent dozen or so hours spent. But when you have a long queue, you can still PLAY the game. Example: I have a Jedi Knight, if I have a long queue, I will create a new character on a light server and try a class that "kinda" interests me, but not one I would spend all my time with. In my case, I would create a Sith as a nice secondary character. Play that character for a few hours, and try your primary character again. In WoW, I have about 6 characters. I have my primary one, and the other ones are just for fun. Playing one character for MONTHS gets very boring. So, for me, I like the variety of having different characters.
  9. I just want to say a few words on this. This game is an MMO with a giant list of servers from LIGHT to HEAVY. Queues are to be expected during LAUNCH. A) We have much more people online than before when WoW launched. B) The Star Wars name and concept are bringing people that never played MMOs before I know people are sick of hearing that "It is launch", but it is. BW could have prepared for all the subs before launch day, but how could they prepare for the many people that went to the stores to pick up their copy on the 20th? They did some preparing, but you cannot expect them to let everybody in without a queue. I played DCU Online a month or two ago, and I was in the queue for 45 minutes. I know it is F2P now, but THINGS HAPPEN WITH MMOs! My internet was down for a week about a year ago. I just got started playing WoW, and when my internet went down, I could not play. Okay, if you have friend or guild members on a different server that is listed as full, MAKE A SIDE CHARACTER ON A LIGHT SERVER. Try a different class, try mixing things up a bit, create another decent character to play while you wait for the queues to go down. So you launch the game and try to get on the server with your friends, you have a 3 hour queue time. You could sit there, or create a new character so you can at least PLAY the game. BW does not have a gun to your head saying "you can only use this server" Finally, and this is the most important part, it is launch and it is around Holiday break. So yes there will be abnormally high usage with kids not in school, universities out of class, people taking a week or two off of work, nearly all the good tv shows are in re-runs until the new year, and so on. I realize that people bought the game, and should be able to play it. But there needs to be common sense here people. Launch + Star Wars concept + holiday breaks + more people online now than there was years ago + holiday break + holiday break = abnormally high number of people having time off and are trying to play.
  10. I....do not know what to do. First of all, I love this game. However, I was an idiot and entered an incorrect email address when I purchased the game. I ordered my game on December 7 and have been trying to get this fixed ever since. Whenever I talk to origin about getting my product code (not the pre order code), they tell me that my order number is not valid. I HAVE THE RECEIPT RIGHT HERE! Then they tell me they cannot do anything and force the chat to close. I finally got fed up just now in my latest chat and sent them proof in uploading a image of my receipt. They still disconnected the chat. Now when I go to Origin Contact...it says "Down for Maintenance". Is there a number I can call, or do I have to do the stupid "Call me" option? Really, if I need to spend another $80 in order to play this game because I cannot get proper support (I mean seriously, ending a chat session that is still going on?!?!). I am not happy. I guess I cannot play this game after all unless I buy it again.
