  1. Well, they said 1.4 would be a content patch, so what do I want?... 1. Another operation. Operations are fun and exciting for me, I want them to keep making them. I hope a new one is as hard/harder than Explosive Conflict, people need difficult goals to work towards. 2. Another Daily area. Since Daily quests can be done Daily, they can get quite tiresome if they're always the same. I really enjoy the Black Hole for its quest variety and the fact that I don't have to travel for 15 minutes between quests (exaggeration). I hope there is another new area, perhaps more difficult and with a more ambitious design. 3. More gear! Make it cool and take time to get. I like Earning things. 4. Additional small features: put in new Legacy things, Titles, Achievements, Mounts, whatever, I like it all. Would enjoy being able to choose WZs (and hey, a new WZ if they can, though I'm content with the 4 we have now) (Unrealistic Honorable Mention: A cross-faction FP or Operation. Something big, involving a 3rd party, that the Empire and Republic have to face together to defeat. Include dialog full of taunts and threats between party members. ) I know that SWTOR kinda feels like it's in a hole right now, but there's just so much damn potential that I really want it to keep going for a long time.
  2. I'm excited for this patch, and a lot of people say "oh, these tools would be good, IF I HAD ANYONE TO PLAY WITH ON MY DEAD SERVER" but they seem to be neglecting the server transfers? If all the people on dead servers transfer to the same servers and are brought together, you will then find that you'll have plenty of people to play with and use the LFG tool. Even on my Light server I've run FPs with several people and made some friends, I can only assume 1.3 is going to make that go even farther.
  3. Great to hear from you Joveth. I'm sorry that some people had to be let go, but I hope that whatever changes come out of it improve this game and the relationship the community has with you guys. I know that everyone on your end is working hard, and that a lot of times forum communities can be hard to please. I hope that we get to hear more from you and your team from now on. I know that a lot of players just want to talk to you, whether it be about official game details, unofficial ideas, or just joking around. Thanks for the post!
  4. Looks good overall! My guild works very similarily during Ops. A few things we do differently: 1. Party members aren't marked, but enemies are marked with specific symbols. Star, Shield, and Lightsaber are all CC targets. Party targets in order are 1. Crosshairs, 2. Fire, and 3. Gun. Having all of these set makes sure that attackers know who they are attacking beforehand. 2. We use Master Looting during Ops. If there is someone who clearly needs an item they are awarded it, and if there are multiple people who would benefit or if no one needs it but alts, we do (/roll 100) and whoever rolls highest gets it. This prevents anyone from Needing unfairly, as our guildmaster decides where things go. We use Vent to communicate quickly, basically only our guildmaster and the tanks give out important instructions during fights. Other than that we function very similarly; you're welcome to use any of our techniques if you like them!
  5. I do want to do all 8 stories. Did Bounty Hunter first (awesome), also started up a Sniper, Trooper, and Juggernaut, and now I've made characters for the rest of the classes. I want to finish them all, I just needed to be inspired for a character of their class.
  6. ^I agree with what Nyla said, though I can't say I understand it :\ Many people today seem to have -one spot- in their life for a game, and if a "better" game comes out their first one is replaced. This seems to separate players of every game into camps, and then there's a lot of anger between the camps. I don't live in this world... I'll play 80 games at once if I want to
  7. While I do like Swoop Bikes and they fit the lore timewise, Swoop Bike Racing was all about time trials. Wouldn't it be more fun to race against others?
  8. I think their line of thought was that a perk that affects possibly 8 characters should be a big investment, but something for only one character could be cheaper. They know that people thought the 1.2 perks were pretty expensive, but they did affect up to 8 characters. However, what if you're a person that only plays one character at a time? If you have a main and a high legacy level, and then start an alt, in 1.3 you can just buy things for that one character cheaply, instead of dumping 1 million credits so that your one character gets a boost. You have a point about the sprint speed, as anyone could use it really, but I think their aim was to let you personalize each of your characters depending on what you like to do with them. Perhaps they are trying to see if players like the expensive server perks or the cheaper character perks better, and use that system in the future.
  9. I'm halfway between Casual and Hardcore PVE. I really enjoy every aspect of this game, and I do everything, but I don't play 8 hours every day (only some days ). The game isn't my life, but I do want to do all the content and get the best gear I can.
  10. Why don't you go to Fatman now, and then when people transfer out of it, transfer with them? Then you're always with people, you don't have to wait.
  11. I'm having fun! My server is Light (The Corsair) but I have a guild that does Ops twice a week and WZs usually come up fairly often (it's slow in the morning, but I don't mind). I'm still gearing up my main and doing Ops with my guild is awesome fun. I have many other characters started, and even though I don't RP out loud, I do a lot of it in my head. I feel like all of my guys are important and unique characters, and that's something I haven't felt in other MMOs.
  12. pfffft, Halo, just another Quake clone and look at where THAT got them!
  13. I know how you feel man! I went into 50 PVP as Arsenal and couldn't do a damn thing, the Expertise difference is too much, and you're unable to move while doing damage. I switched to Pyro for the mobility (you'll still get hurt from the Expertise difference) but keep at it. I now have around 800 Expertise (I think?) and feel much more useful in PVP.
  14. OMG Earth and Beyond I was there, it was glorious. I dislike EA... I don't feel like any company they take over grows, it's just incorporated into their blob
  15. I like being on the Imperial fleet because that is where I see the most people, it feels busy. Apart from that, I really like Taris, and Ilum and Hutta (especially their skies)
  16. I'd say unrealistic expectations. I hadn't played a big MMO prior to this game, so I had no expectations from previous games in my mind. I came in with a blank mind, only knowing what would be in the game from reading about it and watching the previews. They've delivered on everything I expected, and I really enjoy the game.
  17. Can't say for sure, but all the perks to this point have been cumulative (6 minutes total off of Quick Travel, 6 hours total off of Fleet Pass). I assume they'd make it the same way, but no official word
  18. I definitely am a fan of having skill mean more than gear (in a PVP setting). A few years ago I played a ton of Monster Hunter Tri, and while gear is a big part of that game, even the best gear won't help you if you aren't good at the mechanics of fights. I love having complicated fights, it makes things exciting. That being said, many people like games where you are always earning better and better things, and this is usually gear and items (MMOs, Diablo style games, Monster Hunter, etc.). It's fun to earn better and better things to show off, or develop your persona. If gear wasn't a driving force behind an MMO, I feel like there'd have to be something else that drives people to play. Do you have any alternative ideas, or do you think a game could do well without something like that?
  19. They've said that they're going to promote a few certain servers and people will be able to transfer for them to free, and later you will be able to (probably pay) to transfer to any server. A lot of people are saying things like "ugh, they're not going to let us transfer to the Fatman for free so who cares" but they are missing the point. We shouldn't all want to transfer to the already-extremely-busy server. They will probably promote a Light/Standard server, and everyone should transfer to it. This promoted server will become very populated, and it will then be an additional Heavy server. All of the Light-Server players shouldn't flock to the club that's already full. They should band together and make a new club.
  20. Remember that many of the Legacy unlocks require not only money but Legacy Level to unlock them, and 1.3 should be adding that "Coming Soon" Legacy page. I would guess that all of those new options will need Legacy Level and money to unlock, so you'll probably have access to some of the options right away that many others don't. Perhaps in a future update there will be more unlockables that need a very high level to buy (40-50) and maybe at that point a bonus will be given when people hit max Legacy Level. Just my guesses.
  21. I really want more end game content (in the future) but I have to vote for Story and voice acting. The story and cutscenes might not matter as much once you hit max level, but in reality they are the reason I got to level 50 in the first place. I haven't gotten to max level in any other MMO, and part of the reason is because I just didn't care; I didn't feel like my character had any significance, and it didn't matter if I finished quests or not, or how I carried myself in conversation. In SWTOR these things seem important, I feel like I'm running an actual person. I want more places to explore and fight in, but I want to do those things with the characters I have created in these stories. Any MMO can have lots of content, but SWTOR has content that I care about.
  22. I'm glad to hear you are in a good PVP situation! I am on the Corsair currently (PVE) and my experience is very similar to yours. A few guilds on each side, PVP every 5-20 minutes, and a lot of new people getting in for their dailies.
  23. BAHAHA I'd like to see some maps (any gametype) with more falling hazards; more high areas (possibly moving) where falling means you die. Think of all the force users jumping around and people knocking each other off. Either that, or more active hazards. The hazards in Huttball (fire/acid) are nice, but they're always in the same place. Think of all the mechanics used in PVE bosses in this game; things falling from the sky, tons of marks on the ground where there is danger. I want to see a more active battlefield where you have to always be on your toes.
  24. I agree. I personally don't have a huge problem with population (I'm on the Corsair, it's Light but there are enough people there for my purposes) but I definitely think the lower population servers should just be merged into a few. There are hundreds of players separated by their servers, and if they were just thrown together everyone would have plenty to do and no one would have to transfer, lose their legacies and so on. I know that people are rerolling onto the Heavy servers, but what we need is all the stragglers together to make more heavy servers

    PvP Gear

^Yes. As the system works now, Expertise is much more important than your regular stats in PVP. I have a set of armor I use for PVE and one I use for PVP. If I switch to the PVP set I lose a lot of Aim (my main stat) as well as endurance (health). However, the Expertise I get in return makes it so I do much better in PVP with that armor on than I would with my PVE set, even though the PVE set gives me more Aim and Endurance. For PVP, get as much Expertise as you can, no matter the cost! Save your other equipment for PVE content.
