  1. They're rated for Teens. Some people have different degrees of vulgarity. But, I'm sure a completely pleasant person in game like you are on the forums and the man is just getting you down.
  2. So, you're saying that someone who likes Modern Warfare also can't like a story driven game? (P.S. - I enjoy both, and both have stories.) Remember, opinions of anything are subjective. Just because YOU like something doesn't mean everyone else has to. Bioware implemented a great story, but some people don't enjoy games for stories. They enjoy games for challenges or action. Those people might find this MMO lacking in that department. I view RP in an MMORPG with disdain simply because a majority of role-players have turned into drama hungry elitists. If I don't type eloquently or have an 80 page novel of a backstory, I'm ignored. It turned me off from role-playing as a character. But, remember, role isn't just defined as personality and character playing. When you pick a tank or a healer or a dps, you're also defined as filling a role. Either way you look at it, it could be deemed as acceptable.
  3. The weird thing is, non-BH can roll on it too. I was leveling on my IA with my man, and it dropped. I passed because I didn't know if it was used for something, but I could have rolled and won it. That makes it even more suspiciously like vendor trash.
  4. When you hit level 10, you'll have to choose an advanced class - shadow or sage. Shadow is a melee dps/tank. Sage is a ranged dps/healer. You do have some melee abilities at the start, but they will get phased out as you get more abilities, assuming you take the sage advanced class.
  5. Not everyone finds enjoyment in the journey as you do. I personally love to level, it is one of my favorite things in any MMO. My man HATES it. He does it with me, because he knows I like it, and because it is less mind-numbing for him that way. To say that everything is in the journey is highly subjective.
  6. I have a 50 Inquisitor, and I've been leveling up an Operative with my man. So, she'll eventually be my second 50. I'm trying to curb my alt making desires until the legacy system is released.
  7. Razer Naga. I use the mouse buttons for my healing spells.
  8. I've never felt that PvP took any more thought than PvE. I know a lot of people think that playing another person makes for an unpredictable experience. But, if you PvP long enough, you find out that there are actually a very limited number of choice a person can make.... and the average person is very predictable in these choices.
  9. I don't know. I don't program games. I took a QBasic class in college. My final was to make a self-moving maze. The code made sense, but it didn't work and I couldn't find the bug. I'm assuming professional coders are better at it than me, but I still imagine fixing issues isn't as easy as writing my name.
  10. A bit of advise for future MMO releases. It will almost always be better to deal with queues right around release time. There will always be a big influx of people playing at release, especially around the holidays. Servers with consistent queues at the start will usually even out to a pretty large and balanced community.
  11. Melee classes harass and kill me more than any ranged class in pvp. I can't seem to get away from them. Maybe I don't have the teammate support a healer should, but I don't think that melee are having that much trouble in warzones. My guild runs heavy melee Ops. Last week we had 2 ranged, the week before it was one. We have successfully cleared all of the content on hardmode. You may have to tweak strategies, but it certainly isn't impossible with melee. But, I guess I just haven't hit 50 yet and I don't know any better.
  12. Casual players usually enjoy all the same things other players do. Let's put it this way... for a very long time, I was considered a hardcore raider. I would spend 12ish hours a week on raiding. I no longer want to devote that much time to raiding? Do I want to still see the operations? Absolutely, yes. I just don't have the need to devote so much time completing hardmodes/nightmares and farming content repeatedly for gear. I consider myself very casual now because I consider my non-work hours more valuable than I did when I was a hardcore raider.
  13. I don't necessarily have a problem with it... I could see them breaking it up maybe once more into sub 25 and over 25. But, then servers with lower populations would have trouble finding matches.
  14. I have no problems with a LFD tool, or the idea of one. But, I think the implementation of the idea from WoW can be much improved. I know people wave away the community ideal, but for some of us, that is a big deal. I liked it in WoW when I knew the people on my server from both factions. I was familiar with who the ninjas and jerks were. I was familiar with the good players. I had to actively seek out people to play with. I joined that game knowing very few people on the server. I joined guilds as I found like-minded individuals. There was cross-faction challenges and events and it was a lot of fun. When cross-server pvp/pve was introduced, a lot of that was lost. I know that many say that if you don't like the tool, you can opt to not use it - but that doesn't really work. If everyone else is using the tool, you will likely have to out of necessity. I understand the necessity of the tool, however. What I would like to see is the LFD tool select from your server and prioritize your server first and then fill in the holes from other places. I think that is a generally fair compromise. I do like to play with people from my server, but I can't say I hate a tool that makes it easier to do so. I would better support a server only LFD, but I know for many low population servers, this would not really solve the problem they are having. I realize not everyone plays the same way, nor views social interaction in a game the same way. So, I think that depending on how Bioware develops the tool, it could easily be a fine compromise for both sides of the spectrum (minus the people that hate the LFD tool completely).
  15. The robot from your ship can heal. Just an FYI.
  16. Guilds had to submit an application. They didn't just randomly select every guild that's going. If a guild master didn't have the initiative to fill out an application, he doesn't deserve to be selected. Also, how are you to say that one guild doesn't deserve to make game decisions over another? What's your deciding factor? PVP masters? Nightmare mode? Casual alt guilds? They need all flavors and sizes of guilds. There isn't just one way that people play the game and all types have a thought in what makes the game better. P.S - I wasn't invited. I will still defend the process. Unless I was in the room when the selections happened, I can't assume there was favoritism.
  17. You know that guy that says a bad joke that you know is a bad joke, but somehow all his friends think he's the funniest guy in the room? I'm sure writing ends up being the same way. That's why you see it as inconsistency. They all thought it was appropriate or funny or meaningful. You just didn't agree.
  18. As a sorc with all my goodies, I would still prefer mitigation. Damage resisted/avoided is always better than damage done. It's why shields are generally better than hots, even if they had the exact same "heal" amounts.
  19. I think you're taking offense to something that wasn't meant as insulting. I'm sure they didn't just wave your guild or any other to the side because "they don't count" or think that you are now "wasting your time." Logistically, they can only accept so many people at a venue. They had to make a difficult choice. Would it have been acceptable to you if your guild was invited but another wasn't? I'm pretty sure this post wouldn't even be here by you if that was true. It really isn't a big deal. They've already said that this won't be the only event they do, assuming it works as they expected. So, if not this time, maybe next time. Until then, enjoy whatever you do with the people you choose to do it with. You don't need Bioware's "acceptance" to make that true.
  20. Don't forget the Togruta and Cathar and Kaleesh. They're more than ready to go at this point. I expect to see them with legacy stuff. I wouldn't mind playing a Devaronian or Elomin. I'd love to be a Selonian, they're so cuddly!
  21. I'm not sure it's ignorance that keeps people. Enjoyment of anything is personal.
  22. That font makes your point very difficult to read.
  23. Being against 4 is typically just as bad. I very rarely beat a 4 man guild group when in a full pug. I'm not sure why the mentality is different.
  24. Let's see... I've called things here: Life grip Vanish Sap Cloak Battle Rez Lifetap Teleport Flight path I'm not even sure I know the SWTOR terminology for half of it. I guess I'm lucky that the people I talk to come from WoW, also. For some people it is just quicker to convey the thought in the lingo that people are familiar with. I understand that not everyone has played warcraft, but I have a feeling that people who don't still understand what i'm referring to.
