  1. You sound just like all of us after the beta weekends.. Dont worry.. You will see how shallow and boring the game is later on.
  2. This game barely runs on mid end desktops lol.. Unless you have a gaming laptop i wouldnt even install this on a laptop.
  3. of course it counts as a sale.. why wouldn't they count it.. its a general term. maybe copies sold is a better term to use but none the less when they say boxes sold they mean copies..
  4. When I played swg pre cu, no one complained about lack of population.. the game, for its size was very populated. Eq2, never once saw complaints like what i see here about mergers.. There was the odd post but not like here. I personally think bioware should bite the bullet and make about 20 N.A servers and 10 Eu.. That would be sufficient enough to support the 300 or 400k still logging in to this game. Regardless what they claim as active subs, its no where near that amount actually playing.
  5. The mere fact the forum is constantly complaining about it should be proof enough. You will never see a truthful answer from ea or bioware about the pop. Thats why it was a mad rush to get an asian launch going to skew the numbers just like blizzard does. Asia uses time cards that are based on hourly play.. each card gets counted as a subscription by blizzard.. So the same chinese kid who plays 5 times a week on 5 different time cards, get counted 5 times.. you get it? Bioware moved super fast to get an asian launch and the numbers will be just as skewed as blizzards. If you want real numbers of how many actually play wow.. go google how many boxes they sold to their last expansion... something like 4 million world wide... Blizzard/wow have maybe 1-2 million subs world wide. But they blow it way out of proportion to give the illusion its such a great game when in fact its crap. And what bothers me is no one can see this as far as devs go so they continue to make clones of it when games could be done so much better.
  6. sounds like you never raided in anything but wow.. There is a whole world of other mmo's out there that did raids better than wow and the enrage timer is just a lazy mechanic to block people. The fight should be about a strategy. In eq2 normally every 20% of health meant the boss would do something different and your raid of 20 people would have to work in union with one another to compensate or wipe. It was more about timing an aoe properly, or curing the tank fast enough etc.. It wasn't about tank and spanking and having enough dps to kill the mob in 10 minutes.. In fact, I think if a group of lesser geared people take 45 minutes to kill a boss over the top geared guilds who do it in 10mins.. whats the beef? They still did it.. They beat the piss poor design of the fight only to be **** blocked at a pathetic mechanic that makes absolutely no sense..
  7. If they need enrage timers to block people then their mechanics for the fight are not challenging enough. I never experienced enrage timers when I played eq2 and raided a lot.. maybe they came after I left but it wasn't till rift that I experienced them and I thought it was such a cheezy mechanic that made no sense. I think its an easy way to block progress in a raid environment, and looking back now on eq2 I think we were spoiled.
  8. There seems to be a lot of people complaining, or was a few months back, that leveling might have been a bit too fast for certain players. I had an idea to essentially slow down the power levelers and not affect casuals at all or just very midly. The system would essentially log your hours played per session and the longer you played the less overall xp you gained. You could also use this to throttle and apply it to loot drops so power gamers are stuck playing more and longer to attain the loot they so badly desire. So it breaks down like this: After 4 hrs played your xp gains would be cut down to 90%. Magic find % also decreased to 90%. Magic find is simply any blue+ drop. Re-logging wouldn't help because the time played calculations are based on a 24 hour period and only resets after 6 consecutive hrs of rest (not playing).. (account wide not character wide) It would break down like this: 4 hrs played xp/loot cut to 90% 5 hrs played xp/loot cut to 80% 6 hrs played xp/loot cut to 70% 7 hrs played xp/loot cut to 60% 8 hrs played xp/loot cut to 50% 50% would be the final stage and after 8 hrs played during a 24hr period you are essentially earning half of the normal xp. The only way to reset it to normal is by not playing for 6 hrs. I like to refer to it as XP/loot throttling... And then once they hit max level you reverse it.. 0-1hrs played = 50% chance at loot 1-2 hrs played = 60% 2-3 hrs played = 70% 3-4 hrs played = 80% 4-5 hrs played = 90% 5-6 hrs played = 100% A system like this would have to be done stealthy and be in from day 1. I more or less put the idea out there for future games and solutions to the power gamers burning through content way too fast.. I'm not saying they need to do it in this game, I'm saying its a solution for the problem. If they did it now it would only affect casuals as the power gamers are maxed mostly now anyways.
  9. There name is tarnished for sure. I think they lost a lot of their fanbase. Not only that but with EA tied into all of this mess I won't be supporting them again ever either..
  10. small things amuse small minds I guess. Wait till its out 2 weeks and people will be crying for more content because the content they add with this is so shallow and lore breaking it will no longer be star wars.. They should actually just change the name to something else and release the I.P to some competent company.
  11. Thats makes me want to run back to wow.. some of those changes just completely wreck the game even further lol.. keep at it BW you're almost there in completely destroying this game.
  12. when buying a graphic card look for the highest memory interface which is measured in bits. yours has 192-bit wide memory interface. Not low end but not even mid range in my opinion. What you want is minimum 256 bit. That is the first thing you look for, then you look at how much ram, what kind of ram and how fast the cores are. i have a 3 year old gtx 260 which has 384 bits.. Thats why it blows the doors off your card and any 256bit card out there.. no it doesn't support dx 10 or 11 but most games don't either..
  13. I think it was the wow population they wanted. Whoever it was didn't show up as planned though lol
  14. I think the 1.7 million users came from the recent Asian launch too.. If thats true this game suffered a huge loss of players. I bet there is only around 300k N.A players who still log in but 500k-900k who don't and are being counted as they are on 3 or 6 month subs. I don't know what the asian numbers are but star wars is not popular there and I can't see a game that is so casual and easy going over well there unless they made the game more grindy somehow. If you want true mmo numbers from any mmo, you have to wait till they launch an expansion then find out how many world wide copies they sold. Go check out how many wow sold... its not 11 million I can tell you that and they are simply lying about actual numbers and have been for years.. Why? To create positive spin around the game so people try it. But all this bs of companies trying to rip off wows piss poor casual game designs is just that, bs.. of epic proportions. That game is complete and utter garbage and so is any game the tries to copy it.. Either way, those numbers may in fact be real but come summer time this game will only have enough of a population to maybe support 10 or 15 N.A servers, and probably 5 EU servers.. I don't think its rocket science to realize they most likely could, right now, condense 5 light load servers into one while leaving the one or 2 heavy loaded servers alone and hit about 15 decently populated servers. But they won't do that till probably a month after Gw2 ***** them of half of whats left of their population by fall. You fanboys can defend this game till your blue in the face but the coming months will reveal another Vanguard type of population. I would bet any amount of money if they launched pre cu swg servers it would have just as many people actually playing it as this game does.. probably more.. And if they ported it into some newer engine like gamebyro.. the skies the limit because that game had immense re-play value, and this game does not. It doesn't matter what they do in the coming months as far as fixes, the majority of the ones who left aren't returning.. I'll venture and say maybe 10% will re sub in around summer time just to check it out but they will be so far behind they won't last, their friends will be gone and they will not stay. Absolutely nothing can save this game right now, you either grow your population in the first few months or it doesn't and only the blind fanboys can't see this game took a massive hit in loss of players. Thats people actually playing the game... Even if they are subbed they are not logging in, and when you see people saying they only log in 2 hrs a week to raid... that is absolutely pathetic where replay value and your game are concerned. Bioware and Ea have to tread very lightly because the company is publicly traded and they will use terms in the vaguest sense of the word to retain share value. I think this game will end up just like Eq2 did.. A game with a very niche following of users, obviously for different reasons.. Then you will see cash shops for vanity items come fall sept/oct.. Then full blown free to play with cash shops in 2 years time. Swg 2 with theme park content and the old swg class/bh/crafting/space/social/player run economy would have destroyed this games sub numbers and killed wow in the process. the gamble bioware took on story/cutscene/cgi work was an epic fail and you will not see another mmo use it. You may see more voice overs and class quests in new mmo's but not like the immense waste of time and resources bioware went through while the rest of your game is severely lacking.
  15. I bet the trial accounts will be counted as subs in the quarterly lol..
