  1. You know... you can gather mats for your crafting if it really is that important for you. You don't have to send your companions. In fact, since a lot of people don't gather in worlds, it is probably more efficient.
  2. I would probably still play it if it wasn't star wars. I am saying this with the assumption that the stories and the worlds would still be entertaining. I'm saying this with the assumption that you are stating the game is exactly as it is now, but it isn't called star wars. I enjoy the classes and the story lines. I enjoy the operations and I enjoy pvp (even huttball). Some of it may be wow burnout, but I really enjoy playing the game. Let's put it this way - I'm not a huge Star Wars fan. I've seen the movies, and that's about it. I don't know the lore, hell, I don't even remember half of the plot of the movies. I didn't buy this because it was OMG STAR WARS. I didn't even care about this game until I was given an open beta invite from my BF since he had multiples.
  3. I love the planets. Alderaan might be my favorite. I love seeing mountains in the distant and land that perhaps I will never get to. It makes the world seem larger than it is.
  4. Did you try a european server? I haven't done the time conversion, it probably isn't better. But, that was really the only suggestion I could think of.
  5. WoW had these guys. And other than them one-shotting people in PVP, it really wasn't an issue. Besides, you killed the lead guy, and the rest just stood there like dummies.
  6. If you're worried about losing the legacy, just make a random char with a random name that you likely won't ever play/keep. He will have that legacy name. Then you'd be free to delete the trooper and free up the name you wish to have.
  7. You don't have to slam your fist into the space bar.
  8. If I don't want to do a planet, I just do my class story and then grind out the levels I need through FPs/PvP.
  9. And then you get people complaining that they can't take their character wherever they want to go at any level. It's a tough battle to fight.
  10. I'm not sure you've looked at what the Teen rating is. Honestly, the things you have complaints about seems to fit fine under this definition. You see Vette get beat or shocked, but it isn't gory violence. It is suggested that there is forced sexual content, but it is not explicitly shown. From the way I take the ESRB rating, the game falls into this category.
  11. Or you can go light side and free her and treat her like a welcome companion and start a loving relationship with her. Is it Bioware's fault for offering the torture option, or yours for taking it?
  12. At level 50, even with expertise, an OP would two or three shot me even through my sorc bubble. I admit I'm not the best pvper, but that seems a bit absurd. I think perhaps they nerfed too much, but there needed to be a change.
  13. Only because people wouldn't report the problem like you'd get on a server forum. Maybe you were just luckier than me and my group of friends, but in LFD - I experienced a lot of issues with ninjas and jerks. But, you'll experience the same issue without LFD. At least if it is on your server, you can work to get that person shunned.
  14. Depends on what kind of game we're talking about... Table-top RPGs? I learned how to think critcally and look at all sides of a story before acting. I learned patience and how good I am at talking myself out of a fight. Shooting games? I learned how to run my mouth and make men feel like boys. MMORPGs? I learned teamwork and leadership skills. I also learned how to be the best elitist I could be. MUDs/Chat-room RP? Insane typing skills. Had to keep the action flowing!
  15. Yes. The game is not perfect, but I'm content to be patient and see what the future brings.
  16. I'm not even sure what your first paragraph is referring to in response to what you quoted. I don't really care if a level 1 is on a fleet. I specifically stated that I SAID WHAT I SAID BECAUSE OF THE PAYING CUSTOMER ACT. Is it clear now?
  17. If you read through the rest of the thread, I acknowledged that I didn't know what he meant and it was clear now. I'm not going to go back and edit all of my posts.
  18. I'm not trying to be leet. I just hate when people use the "paying customer" routine. So are the rest of us. Just because a paying customer wants something doesn't mean it will or should be implemented.
  19. Right. But that's not a possiblity in SWTOR at the moment. The only option you would have right now is to re-roll on that server. It wasn't even an option when Blizz first rolled out their LFD tool.
  20. How were you able to make friends and group with people on other servers unless you transferred/re-rolled, or was it after Blizz brought out Battle-net friend grouping? And, if you read the whole thing, I'm not against LFD. I don't see why people can't compromise and keep it to their own server.
  21. I am also a paying customer, and I don't want level 1 characters on the fleet. Who is right?
  22. To me, the ruined community doesn't come from lack of accountability or higher degree of people being jerks. I think of ruined community as this, and I apologize for using WoW as the reference: When WoW was contained to your server, you knew everyone and everyone knew you. You could talk about ninjas and you would have forum discussions, and get in vent with opposite factions. I made most of my friends when everything was contained to the server. When they made is cross-server, I very rarely met anyone new on my server. You lose that bond. I like the idea of an LFD tool, but I would prefer it to be on my server only. That way I don't have to sit in the fleet if I wish to do a flashpoint, but I can still meet people on my server.
  23. Go find a friend/random 50 to drag you through the class quests on the starter planet, and it will take about 30 minutes. They aren't doing it to make your life miserable. Spending a moment to get a person to the fleet to do banking doesn't take away your "1 character ideal."
