  1. Game balance trumps silliness. But I sense that's something you're already aware of and included in the blahblah.
  2. Yes, you can fully romance Elara without promoting her. I dunno what you're talking about, the time I was ordered to gas a bunch of civilians to protect the Republic, Jorgan was all for ignoring that order.
  3. If it's true... given General Garza's tendency to run black ops and cut people out of the loop it's entirely possible that she ordered them on a mission that wasn't authorized by the Senate. Sorta splits the difference and still leaves Havoc Squad screwed.
  4. Yeah, I'd be onboard with a change to make this synergize better with the other abilities assault commandos are already using.
  5. Hey, I've been kicking around the idea of making a sentinel and gearing him up in orange smuggler's gear. So, any idea where one can obtain the Mantellian Smuggler's set? http://www.torhead.com/search/Mantellian%20Smuggler%27s Torhead does not list a location.
  6. Yes, we don't get a black and white morality which is why we don't get to make nothing but lightside choices.
  7. That's right folks, and he knows all of this without a damage meter.
  8. Sith Inquisitor. He's using an assassin with a staff.
  9. It is possible to balance low level PVP better. Harder, but possible and the game will be better for it. No, the best thing that a player can do, when faced with a way to improve the game, is provide a thorough and thoughtful critique of the aspect of the game they feel is wrong. The more details they give, the better the feedback will be.
  10. Might I offer a rebuttal. Nerf/buff, go with whatever path best addresses game imbalances while keeping specs viable for performance in both pve and pvp. There are a lot of variables that need to be weighed when discussing game balance and design, and I'd sooner you have every tool at your disposal rather than having you go with a sub-optimal choice simply because some people are terrified of the great nerf.
  11. Hmm, it is clear that you have a strong grasp of your class, the conditions in PVP, and the way to synergize talents for the maximum given effect. Your video showed an interesting different range of situations and gives the viewer a complete idea of all that your spec is capable of. On the other hand, you did not make a video of your character naked in PVP. Just saying.
  12. Well, "long range" in this game means about 30 yards.
  13. Clearly this is a game with choose our own adventure features.
  14. The biggest attack done by an auto-cannon is a massive Demolition round. The biggest attack done by pistols is unload. Auto-cannons win.
  15. Yes, just like a commando healer, Elora's healing is benefited by aim.
  16. Actually you're right. There should be a third, 'split efforts despite tactical analysis indicating it won't work' option. And it should lead to winging the pedestrian and killing the dog.
  17. As far as how this part of the story made both you and I feel. It's clear that BW can't make us both happy. This choice made me happy, it invested me more in the character, it made me think about what I truly value and what my character values. Clearly it made you think long and hard about the story and your character too. As far as not rerolling, that's fine too, just don't delete. You've got 50 something character slots and 10 character slots per server. If you don't want to play your trooper anymore, allright, roll that Knight. And in a month from now, two months from now, you may decide you want to play a vanguard tank or dps and this part of the story will be a bad memory. If you delete you have to choose whether to go through it again or not play a vanguard, if you just shelve your current vanguard it will be easier.
  18. Well, I understand the disappointment that this choice causes. To answer a couple of your points. I wouldn't recommend rerolling over this because this is just one mission in your troopers long career, one event in his long life. If you scrag the character you'll just end up remaking a new trooper down the line and running into that same choice and, believe me, it's not any easier when you pick the other option.
  19. Not necessarily. The autocannon requires that the user brace and steady himself for its most powerful shots, not because of its weight, but because of the energy release of those shots. The rifle, not having access to the same level of output, allows for a more mobile use while potentially weighing about the same. As for the original poster's suggestion that these two names are wrong for RP reasons. I respond thus. Game design takes precedence over RP concerns. They decided to make autocannon class ranged dps. They decided to make the rifle class mostly melee/some range class to allow for more varied play styles. They decided to couple the tanking spec with the primarily melee class. They decided to name the advanced class that could tank Vanguard. These choices, while I'm not sure which order they were made in, were all made for game mechanic reasons and RP had nothing to do with it.
  20. Never said it was a bounty hunter quest, just a quest that I did while playing a bounty hunter. And, at best, the choice should be between getting dark side points for killing them or getting more dark side points for killing them slowly, but as a rule, when you're using poison there probably shouldn't be a light side option. The troopers, smugglers and slumming it Jedis can score 50 darkside points for finding medical supplies stolen from the Republic military and returning them to their rightful owners. This games light/dark duality is overly simplified to the point of being messed up.
  21. It's not just the trooper quest that has bizarre lightside/darkside choices. When playing a Bounty Hunter, I scored 50 lightside points by poisoning rebellious slaves.
  22. Yeah, I don't hate Jorgan, but I've already decided that I will be replacing him with Dorne. Maybe it's cause I'm "a lazy," maybe it's cause she's got a cute butt, maybe it's just that, after 20 levels of Jorgan, I'm ready for a change. I actually like Aric, and it's a testament to how well the companion system in this game is that Aric is the companion I am least interested in. Oh well, I'm an Armstech, and Aric is good at that sort of thing so I see much scut work in his future.
  23. He's got a point, Jaesa's a Shadow/Assassin, not a Sage/Sorcerer. Her other talent tree would be tanking. Otherwise I more-or-less agree with the OP. Companions have no PVP value, and what a person does in PVE is their own business.
  24. This is actually a very insightful comment. Allowing Advance Class switching doubles the number of specs available when a player stops enjoying a current style of play. For all the irrelevant talk about what WoW does, this is a good thing.
