  1. GW weren't that balanced, iirc. Some classes were simply awesome (Necros, Mesmers, Monks), other were decent, but often forced into a single viable spec at the time (Ritualists, Rangers), etc, and the rest often struggled (assasins). FOTM builds were on rampage. But Arenanet did a good job in adjusting the class balance. Far better than say Mythic with their "we can't nerf a popular super OP class, because we don't want to piss off players of the class." EVE isn't balanced either, but everybody can eventually learn to fly most ships in the game. I suspect CCP alters game balance over time just to force people to crosstrain...and keep paying. Still, racial ships are definitely not balanced. Caldari struggle in PVP and rule PVE. Winmatar are made of pure win and a ducktape, Amarr are somewhat managing to stay competitive and Gallente have spent last few years sulking in the corner after spending years in the PVP spotlight.
  2. Focus target thingy? Can you target the enemies or are your skills blocked or what?
  3. The next patch will fix that. The new content of bags will be a big improvement from what we have today.
  4. BM gear would be worthless if I didn't learn to play the class properly. That Battlemaster title should be backed up by the combat experience and proficiency of a "battlemaster". Maybe other players are natural geniuses able to use their class to its fullest potential right from the beginning, but I am more than happy to learn my class through hard work, mistakes and experimenting with tactics and builds. Only real fighting will help me to get there. Kill trading is for scrubs.
  5. Ability to get the exact piece I want is great. Ability to quickly deck out an alt in Centurion gear (and replace its mods)...even better. This is great change. I do not wish for other people to face the same retarded RNG hell as we do right now, because that would just drive them away from the game/PVP.
  6. It pisses me off...the grind to level 60 is long enough when every third enemy I see is a battlemaster and I have time for the daily WZ quests only and 0 chance of getting anything from Ilum. But I think it will be manageable with moddable gear. Centurion gear provides a decent Expertise and the mods can be replaced with better PVE mods. I just wonder if the Expertise stat is on Armoring mod, or a part of the gear itself. The latter would be better. Expecting a full PVP experience without having to be bothered by PVE (bleh) from this game is unreasonable...
  7. Make the crafted orange gear unrepairable and introduce a small chance for included mods to be damaged when the gear is damaged. The damaged mod cannot be removed from the item. That way orange gear will have its drawbacks ($$$ + a crafter's time) and the economy will have a constant healthy demand for crafted goods and crafted resources.
  8. Your companions. It took me almost 40 levels and thousands of -XX before I got my hands on a first like-minded companion.
  9. Eve, damn that game. Every time me and my friends get together and discuss this or that MMO and what could be done better, we always come back to EVE. There's just no other game like that, and I doubt any will appear in next year or two. I did take a break from EVE for GW, WAR, Aion and now SWTOR, but all these games were really a distraction from teh "seriouz internet spaceship business." Every other MMO feels just like a "toy". - A game with no true end game and a freedom of action. One can do an absurd amount of different activities, most of them based on competition or fighting against other players. - A game with no artificial player classes. One can do whatever he wants, it just takes time to learn it. - A game where we can level our characters without being in-game and doing some retarded endless grind. Though the grind is still present in some game areas, it is optional. - A game where every action can be seen as a choice between risk and reward. - A game where stupidity hurts and no one has a sympathy for idiots and fools. - A game without artificial story, where the development of the universe is almost fully under control of its player base. WoW storyline has nothing on the drama between EVE alliances, empires and "maniacal" overlords. - A game with E P I C all out wars and campaigns, where everything is allowed, and the war requires massive amount of coordination, leadership...a working industrial base/income, merchants, logistics, spies, recon, big fleets, raiders, defending patrols... It's a universe where everybody has a price and whatever you are looking at is a definitely a trap. And it has absolutely ****** miserable combat system.
  10. Yay, I can burn 40% of my ammo and most likely drop into lower ammo regen band and I've just managed to take 20% of someone's hp.
  11. It's a convenient service to serve as a money sink even at max level. Money sinks are good for the game.
  12. Powertech does not get AoE knockback. Two blasters = Mercenary One blaster = Powertech or a very sneaky Mercenary.
  13. Just a guess, based on BH's Torian, who also uses Techstaff. Gault is their ranged DPS. From BH's forum: Since then I've been itching to get that blue 50 staff from Belsavis Daily Heroics 4+ quest and test it for myself.
  14. More dead senators, and more problems "solved" by your hand, rather than by incompetent Republic jurisdiction/politics. Violence is a solution, after all. But I can't really believe Republic would be that desperate to leave my character in charge of their top unit after some of her more...public...stunts. I am not aware of any great looking dark side Trooper armor. We can buy some pieces from Dark Side Vendor, but their appearance is more neutral.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if he was better than Jorgan.
  16. Vanguards have low defense. I am not sure if I could go over 15% without massive sacrifices in other areas. With focus on shield rating/absorb my defense will be around 10-12%.
  17. Remembering that video of Operative demonstrating his burst on a passive sorc...does that mean that after nerf Operatives will do only about 10-12k damage in 3s? I wouldn't call that tickling damage.
  18. A Shield specced Vanguard can have both. A great survivability and almost impossible to kill Jedi Sentinel on a guard leash. That combo wrecks enemy lines like nothing.
  19. One thing that could improve their anti-kiting abilities was what Witch Elves had in WAR.. a punishment dot that does a significant damage while the target is moving, but does nothing with the target standing still (and possibly wear off more quickly) Newbs will kill themselves by running like a headless chicken.
  20. Wrong assumption. That's what YOU wish the class to be. The short range stealth detection while moving makes it even easier to run straight into OP's blades. And thanks to lag they can nab me when I still see them 4-5m away. Operatives are not the only threat in the game, and I can't keep my CC reserved for them. If I don't CC their opener, I am left with so little HP that my death is guaranteed, even if I get away immediately and kite them. Either by them (dots + weak range attacks) or by any one nearby who will follow the smell of blood and go for an easy target with low health. I am Vanguard with 18k hp and almost 400 expertise (it could be better, but it's not a completely newbie gear). Take it like a man and come back to get killed again, is what you wanted to say, right? Patch notes tomorrow.
  21. At least you get almost full immunity from interrupts, pulls and force leaps. That makes you tougher to kill and harder to shut down than Tracer Spammers.
  22. I enjoyed Dark Side path, almost every moment to the end, dealing with Imps the only way they understood. Republic politicians were just some funny people in the background who constantly moaned about something irrelevant. Republic laws? A proper dealing with POWs, traitors, prisoners and suspected spies? Yeah, right. Blast them and feed them to Sarlacc. Or wait, throw them into Sarlacc pit, and throw them a blaster so they could end their suffering. An empty blaster.
  23. DOTA like warzones with NPC infantry/armor waves...now that would be awesome. Ilum battlefield has a great terrain for RVR battles (it's like they took everything great about Black Crag and Dragonwake and put it together), but the current objective system is wasting its potential.
  24. Now I feel stupid. There is a combat rez in this game? Or is it restricted to PVE?
  25. Oh I do. I understand perfectly how few seconds can make or break a glass cannon stealth class. The super short time to kill isn't however a correct approach to the problem, that's a crude solution (worthy of Bioware PVP "experts"...). The target needs to have a chance to react and buy some time or even reverse the game, if he is jumped by a single Operative, and that chance shouldn't be dependent on available CC breaker. If you want to guarantee a kill, team up with someone. Either a second Operative, or someone that will pin your target down. For example a tank, that can conveniently guard your squishy *** while you do the killing...
