Do you think the PVE eliminator sets should be used for PVE combat?

I'm not getting into a discussion about Mac vs. PC, that is not the point of this thread. The Mac makes me happier than the PC's, so that's all i care about.

Thanks for the responses guys...playing games is not the primary factor for purchasing the laptop (SWTOR is the only computer game I play). As long as it can work, even if the performance is just OK, that's fine by me.

Hi Folks, I'm very confused as to what setup I should be using for DPS PVP vanguard and DPS PVE Vanguard...can anyone shed some light on which armor setup is best for both types of combat (I'm using combat tech armor right now for PVP, not sure what to use for PVE set)? I'm running an assualt specced vanguard at the moment, is this a good setup for DPS in both PVP and PVE? Thanks!

I'm looking into getting a new laptop for college and I'm leaning towards the 13-inch 2.4GHz Mac Book Pro (It's the cheapest Mac Book Pro Apple sells). Do any of you computer wizards out there know if this laptop can handle playing SWTOR? A salesman in the apple store says it will play the game with no problems, but I would like to get some unbiased opinions. Thank you!

Hi folks, Is anyone else in the same situation as me where you got your vanguard to 50 and now you don't know what to do with him? I really love PVP a ton, but I also enjoy Flashpoints and operations and the PVE content. However, you can't be geared for both at the same time I'm thinking that since I generally have a lot more time for warzones, and they're not as time consuming to set up (getting groups for raids/ops/flashpoints can be a hastle) then I should go with a PVP DPS build, and maybe I can act as a DPS in Flashpoints/raids as well if i choose to? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks for the great input guys. At the moment I'm running my level 37 vanguard on 100% SS right now, he sort of sucks in PVP, i can't get any where near the DPS of my level 25 commando, but I'm hoping to switch him to tactics/assault after 50 and see how he does damage wise.

Hey folks, I've read multiple posts here stating that Vanguard is great in level 50 PVP, the DPS is good, good survivability, etc. Then I've read in other posts that Vanguard is useless after level 50 in PVP, as they're shield gear hardly absorbs any damage in PVP and their DPS output can't match that of the other classes. Even with all the fancy PVP gear, they still suck. Can we clarify this once and for all? What's the deal with level 50 Vanguards in PVP? Thanks guys!

If you're on a PVP server and kill someone in open world, do you get XP for that kill?

I've been running tons of side quests, I usually complete 2-3 side quests before every class quest I complete. I think I'll go back and hang out at Narshadaa for a bit and see if I can level up. And I'll check out space combat, do I need to buy parts for my ship before-hand or is it good to run stock? Thanks folks!

Hi Guys, So throughout my career on SWTOR, I've had one annoying issue; my character is never a high enough levels for the mission he is on. For example, I'm a level 22 Bounty Hunter on Tatooine now, but the missions are all closer to level 25. On the other planets I've been to, I'm always sure to do every quest I can find to get extra XP, but I still can't seem to keep up with the mission level recomendations. Any tips on how to get my character's level up? Thanks and happy holidays!
