  1. Khem Val pushing his Vibrosword through his chest while not fighting is EPIC WIN
  2. Target's gray, or the char is about to die, I happily jump in.
  3. There are services for forwarding you your dynamic IP adress. Some mobile phone companies offer a web based text message system too. This can be 'exploited' with a little scripting.
  4. USD200000000+, about 7 years, people on the team with MMO experience. And we get a product that is not really finished on any part, and missing a lot of polishing.
  5. The reduced downtime only was of interest to people who sat on the chair in front of the screen, entering the logon credentials over and over and over and over.
  6. Other char comes into range. Client loads the High-Res texture. Client downsizes it to 50%. Client displays it. Sounds like a great idea. Just like: Ads are done in high-res. Beta is done in high-res. As soon as the people handed over the cash: the new high-res textures are shown.
  7. 5 days short of the fiscal year for EA - to make people resub, just in case the patch helps.
  8. Relax, enjoy the music in the next cantina, order a drink and take a seat ... ooops, sorry.
  9. I think the logs have been removed around the time open beta started, but I might be wrong. The code ist still in place.
  10. Much easier: Remove the 2 toolbars from the sides. Et voila: No more flashing in the peripheral view.
  11. Cypher Nine - And no, that ain't no Twi'lek name.
  12. Both animations are rated movement, so no taking cover for us while being rooted.
  13. That other game used to have the test server available basically from the beginning - for select people. You had t oregister for it, and you had to have chars transferrred. And you got info about what was to be changed and tested, and how to report. And occasionally you met the devs right there too.
  14. Customers in F2P games usually spend more money in the shop than they'd spend on the subscription. Warhammer and LOTRO are actually pretty busy in the free areas (and the others too). STO is far from deserted. EQ is alive, and friends are happy in AO.
  15. Then go ahead and order the token - and hope they are not out of stock the second month in a row.
  16. In the EU, the old bulbs are being made illegal. Many people have no problem with CFG bulb, the rest better get ready to dish out big money for LED bulbs.
  17. Wow, Neocron. I haven't read that name in a looooong time. That used to be quite a bit of fun, but suffered badly in the balancing department. I remember the times when healing did not give XP, and when healing gave way more XP than hunting. Hm. Latest news from 30.10.09 ... Attention citizens. Highly dangerous criminals have been sighted within city limits.
  18. Bioware already went the Westwood Studios way. They're just a brand now, one among many under the 'guidance' of EA.
  19. Actually a smaller screen would be better if the stuff on the monitor caused migraines. Flashing lights on the sides often are a cause of migraines, for example when you're driving along an alley with sun shining trough the trees onto the street every 50m or so. Well, not in SWTOR, since a lot of the lower resolutions come in awfully blurry, and the mods in the CSR forum telling you that it is your monitor being broken or malfunctioning. Avoiding the common causes by a professional UI team would be the best option overall. But you know, people with basic UI design knowledgedo not work for sheep. Edit: Oh, and @Mods: How about mentioning the migraine caused by the UI in the title of the thread?
  20. Call the support. If there is no free number for your country, use skype and the US support number.
  21. My theory: As the servers are located in Dublin, and knowing the public transport situation, the server guys are unable to reach the work between midnight (or the pubs shutting down) and about 7:00.
  22. When the feedback stops, the game's dead. EA knows how this looks from the Westwood Studio title Earth&Beyond.
  23. mobile app -> mobile app: no (but you can backup the app, copy it to the new device and run it there - if they're compatible) mobile app -> token: yes token -> mobile app: no any app -> no app: yes
  24. My GF's SWTOR induced migraine tells me that it actually matters a lot - at least to us.
