Yes, I am very much looking forward to the combat styles. My favorite Agent is an Operative right now, and I really like the gameplay of the Sniper better. And my Merc will certainly become a Gunslinger, no equipment change necessary! Also, my Consular will now be able to shoot lightning as she should, as long as they honor legacy ulocks like they said they would. Her surname is Kallig, you do the math.

I sure hope all the new console players are raiders. (Yes, I may be wearing a tinfoil hat, but this is what I believe their anniversary will be about.)

Exactly. It is infuriating. And I would be ecstatic if they did that. I suffered through grouping up for these ops in 2015, and have since forgotten the details, which is why I made a new character last month to take her through everything, only to be expletive-blocked at the end of this storyline (again).

You've completely missed the point. This storyline should not be in the solo queue if the entire thing is not soloable.

I just came back after leaving in 2016, started a new character to follow the complete storyline (solo), and was directed to the Oricon storyline, which ends with the Dread Masters op. And there I found that they STILL haven't added a solo version of the ending to this story. Why direct solo players to this storyline when they can't finish it? Yes, I know, forced grouping is all the rage for 7.0, but it is very hard to get a group together to do this instance, even if one wanted to do so.

I'm finishing up the stories on my new Darth Occlus, because I never played one before. After that, I guess I'm going to wait until 7.0 to play any other characters. I haven't played them since DvL went in, and I don't want their alignment ruined, not to mention that I'd like to try other combat styles for them.

I'm probably delusional, but I'm hoping that crafting might become a solo player's gear progression if they don't like to do flashpoints or ops. As long as they don't gate materials behind flashpoints or ops, which, come to think of it, they probably will. /sigh

You know, I'd be ok with it if they just keep adding ways for solo players to keep getting gear progression doing solo things after the release of 7.0. I can't believe they'd be stupid enough not to do this. I'm hoping that right now they're just trying to placate the loudmouth entitled mythic raiders.

They'll get all their goodies, then whine and cry that they have nothing to do, and then they'll leave and bash the game. And then the exodus of the casual players will truly be felt. It's inane that the devs are blind to this after ten years.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Torian's romance in spite of the fact that he's so young and dreamy-eyed. I think it just fits so well into the BH story. My second favorite is the much-maligned "he's so boring" Lt. iresso. I love him so much because he's just a normal guy with PTSD, and he and the Consular really do have a wonderful relationship.

Gear-gating so the small minority of mythic raiding players can feel good about their lives is crap. Lowering the credit rewards is crap. (Seriously, if they're trying to copy WoW, they need to add a brutasoar as a credit sink.) The new UI is crap. (With a special hate letter for the inventory sorting.) Weapons in the Outfitter is awesome. The Combat Style system is awesome. Removing skill bloat is awesome. Shared tagging is awesome. Removing DvL is awesome. I'd say this is a net positive as they can still revert or add to the crap later.

My prediction is that the sweaty !% of WoW raider refugees that they are trying to please with this new system will figure out very quickly that there just isn't enough content for them to be happy. Then they will leave, take all of their followers with them, and proceed to bash the game. Then possibly they will revert this change and the largest amount of players will finally be happy like they are now. But at what cost, EAWare? At what cost?

Another Founder here, returned from 2016. First off: *** is this DvL crap? Thank the maker they are removing it. Now if only I could get my characters' true alignment back. WoW's gearing system is for WoW, which was made for their own elitist jerks (raiders). If BioWare was unfortunate enough to hire one of the many who left that game, my advice would be to fire them asap because they have no idea what the strengths of this game are. Trying to be a WoW clone made this game not as successful as it should have been at launch. Please don't doom it again.

I agree with the OP, and this is one reason why I'm going to have my Merc become a Gunslinger in 7.0. You mention several abilities that are necessary at low levels, and I agree with this. However, why can they not simply be morphed into something else? It becomes confusing for a new player when all of a sudden they don't know which abilities are important anymore.

Ok, I got to test my Sorceress a little bit after I transferred her and I'm wondering why the procs don't light up anymore? Knowing when Chain Lightning becomes insta-cast is very important.
