  1. I was having issues with sorcs, and wondered why they would always choose to gib me on my sentinel over most other people. But having made and played a sage in pvp quite a lot I can see why. Having a sentinel/marauder on you as a sorc/sage is a massive pain in the rectum. It's FAR better to nuke them down whilst they are busy/at distance rather than waiting for them to get to you and stopping you casting a ton of your abilities. If I see two light sabres when playing my sage I know if I do not kill them quickly they will be on me making my life hard. Same could be said for shadows etc, but you cant see them so it's not really an option. If I do see an unstealthed, stealther you can bet I'd nuke em, but that isn't usually the case.
  2. Have you any idea what diminishing returns and scaling mean? What level are you? Imo doc is a beast of a companion..
  3. Start getting mercenary commendations asap. You can get one bag then store up enough commendations to get another 5 when you hit 50.
  4. As pointed out on the previous page. Two of those slots are actually incorrectly labelled parts slots, not implant. Iirc T7 uses: 2 cores, 2 motors, 2 parts, an implant and a sensor unit. Your ship droid actually uses the same gear/stats. Tho T7 stuff tends towards endurance/absorb/defence rating. But should you want a healer before doc, then you can bodge T7s gear onto him.
  5. That's very interesting. And makes one wonder *** the PvE itemisation balance people were doing putting accuracy on literally everything... Agreed on the offhand thing.
  6. Care to explain why? True enough level 50 PvE gear seems to have wayyyy too much on it, but up 100% has to be a solid dps gain.
  7. Get crit/surge till both are about 30-40%. Then go power. Crit/surge do not scale linearly, after a certain point their value starts to drop off dramatically. Power does scale linearly, you can never have enough. So basically, get "enough" crit, surge and accuracy then pound the rest into power. On levelling/low end gear this generally means go crit/surge.
  8. P.S. cyclone slash spreads overloaded sabre charges.
  9. To be fair from about 35-49 it's pretty good. I smashed people in warzones and world pvp at those ranges. Levelling/PvE was ok too, sentinels are beasty with a little healer love. Ok, as soon as I hit level 50 PvP it felt like I was made of tissue paper, but that's to be expected really, and as my gear gets better so does PvP. Cant wait to have a good set on and really tear peoples faces off.
  10. Sentinel are screwed for medals. But here's the ones to aim for: Kills (10/25)/75k damage - Should be achieving these every match. Certainly the 75k damage, and the 25 kills if you win. Bring healer and go mad. AoE, whilst cheap helps net kills. 300k damage is possible but not one to expect every game. Assassin (Solo kill)/Quick draw (Killing blow) - Killing blow should happen easily everytime. For assassin: kill someone from full to dead by yourself, again should be relatively easy as long as people dont KS you. Often means going off solo, which doesn't tend to go well with the defender medals, unless you guard an alderaan turret by yourself. 2.5k in single hit - Watchman = merciless slash. Focus = sweep bombing. Combat = blade storm (with no armour buff up). Of the three I found it harder to predictably do this as combat. Focus being the easiest, and as long as it crits merciless slash should do it everytime. 75k healing - Hmmm. Go watchman and pop zen a lot. Tbh I wouldn't specifically aim for this.. I usually save my centering for trans. Defender points 1k, 2k, 3k - Easy to get in alderaan. Fight near points you own. Fight near the doors in voidstar. Not really sure about huttball, I'd rather concentrate on winning and not getting knocked off things... But thats basically it for us.. Just because we are the class we are. The other day I saw a sage with the following medals: 75k+300k damage/10+25 kills Assassin/Quickdraw/2.5k single hit. 75k healing done/2.5k single heal/5k single heal. 75k protection done/1k, 3k, 5k protection in single life. 1k, 2k, 3k defender points
  11. I cant wait for biochem to be nerfed into the ground. Its straight up rediculous there's only one viable end game crafting proff... I have also noticed the complete lack of parts on the GTN. Especially strength ones.
  12. Ehhh I kinda see your point to a certain extent. I think what I would do is swap some of the things in combat and focus. Keep watchman the same. I find it really odd that one of the main things in focus is uber AoE. And yet it is supposed to be a pvp spec? AoE for pvp, really??? So what I'd say is basically swap the boosting of blade storm and blade sweep in combat and focus. So combat would be a bursty AoE spec, and focus would be the pvp bursty/ranged spec.
  13. From what I saw last night the animations seem smoother, but the abilities still fail to go off... Not much better than it was.
  14. Speaking personally, I levelled up to about 35 as combat, then changed to watchman. I found it noticeably easier. Especially against golds. And especially especially against "caster" golds.
  15. Not true. I went in solo with my levelling oranges/greens. T7 was in a ragtag bunch of level 20-30 gear (didn't touch him once i got doc). I failed twice, but mainly from having my head boggled by all the clones. Once I worked it out it was depressingly easy. Ignore the clones. Interupt his massive hit, and interupt as much else as you can. Burn him down. Don't stand in aoe. You do not need to LoS. You don't need to kill the clones. You don't need to gear up T7... I think it's safe to say he got hit by a massive nerf stick...
  16. Watchman doesn't "get good". It starts pretty awesome imo.. Reduced focus cost strike and aoe is pretty awesome for first tier talents. The tree is not just about burns.
  17. Honestly, fix the ability stutter and maybe give force leap a 2-3s CC immunity and we'll be owning... It would also be really nice if stasis was an instant. I admit, at earlier levels I had a hard time in PvP. But from 40 onwards it all seemed to come together. In one on one fights I can kill anybody. If I get focused by a bunch of sith then I go down like a sack of spuds, but really that's to be expected. It's not like we dont have anything to deal with it. Rebuke, sabreward, camo, awe, pacify, transcendance and guarded by the force etc give you a ton of options. There's been a few times I've been focused by three or so sith and still managed to kill one of them. My experiences of world PvP with Doc have taught me, that given a little healer love we become very very nasty. I've killed a lot of sith several levels higher than me. Even killed a level 50 bounty hunter at level 42... And if you cannot kill a healer then you are doing something wrong. Keep them interupted (watchman ftw) then they are dead men walking. Even at higher level than you.
  18. I'm sorry but really??? I'd prefer it to work.. It's not like that poster is suggesting we get rid of animations completely. Just stop with this stupid insistance that the animation has to complete before any damage is applied... Speaking personally I can easily live with the numbers floating up not quite matching the animation. In a lot of cases people wont even notice. What they will notice is their damn skills not working even after a billion button presses..
  19. Not being funny, but unless you've tried the various specs how can you give comparitive analysis on them? Seriously, the best thing to do is try each of them out and see which you prefer... In my experience, the statement "they are all good in PvE" is simply untrue.. Focus does insane AoE, watchman does awesome single target and pretty decent AoE and combat is basically lacklustre... Which is a shame, as for me the whole ataru thing "fits" my ideas of a sentinel far more than the other two...
  20. Watchman does better damage than combat. But that's not really what makes it shine for PvP or levelling. Its the vastly improved interupts. Reduced CD kick, reduced CD leap and 0 yard leap all combine to mean if you are on someone/something they will not be getting many casts off.
  21. I tried this out one time: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#501bIbRrRMZZGR0rdbM.1 It was ok, but nothing special, I specced back to normal watchman pretty quick...
  22. Get used to it.. Most of the commendations vendors seem to have a thing against Might gear, forcing you to take guardian gear..
  23. Yep get this all the time, especially in PvP. When it's more important than usual that I do not stare at my ability bar just to make sure abilities go off... Have an issue with Master Strike, where I'll be spamming the button to make it go off, and then when it finally does, pressing the button again cancels it, but I still do the animation, but without doing any damage... Also had big issues with charge. For starters, leap will quite often end up placing me no where near my target.. I've found zealous leap to be particularly bad for this, to the point that if the target is moving at all I will not be in range for my 4m abilities... Also if I charge someone that also charges at the same time then it can cause all sorts of problems, up to and including a complete client crash...
  24. I cant remember the name but there is a equipment commendations vendor, and a modifications equipment vendor in the center of nar shadarr.. One hop over from the space port. Hilts will cost 7 commendations. Failing that, you should be able to get hilts from the galactic auction house for quite low cost at that level. The key really is reducing incoming damage asap. Killing the weak guys first does this quicker. NEVER put points in different trees untill you reach the end of one... I would recommend watchman.
