  1. On the plus side, people like that make the rest of us look good?
  2. This is hardly new or original.... Why take an un-interruptable master over singularity? At least singularity would give you something that hits hard...
  3. You are right. That guy using shii-cho as watchman was an idiot...
  4. If you have an authenticator then the republic dancer gear is great
  5. Seems to me that the supposed "secondary" stats are actually split further still. In that for some of them you get a lot more points than others. So for example you can get 40 accuracy or surge, but only 30something power or crit. As such I have divided the stats up as following: Zero: Endurance, Rating (armour/damage), Expertise. Primary: Strength, Aim, Willpower, Cunning. Secondary: Power, Crit, Defense rating Tertiary: Accuracy, Surge, Alacrity, Shield rating, Absorb rating. Armour patches/hilts/barrels or the item itself will have a rating (be that armour or damage), endurance and a primary. Plus expertise and set bonus, although I will ignore those for this. From what I've seen mods will only come with endurance and a mix of a primary (strength for us obviously) and a secondary. For us power or crit. Now strength is basically = power + crit. Mods with crit as the secondary usually have more strength on than those with power as a secondary. Now the somewhat confusing thing is that the extra strength does not give anywhere near the same bonus damage as the power mods. So you lose bonus damage to gain crit. But, you do not lose all that much bonus damage to gain quite a lot of crit. So I am in two minds as to what gives the most DPS. Power is more valuable than crit, but how much more? And at what levels? At the very least I am of the opinion that if you are trying to boost your crit a bit, the mod slot is where you want to do it. Since if you use the enhancement slot for it, you are directly trading power for an equal amount of crit (see below). The next observation is that generally enhancements come with endurance, a secondary and a tertiary. Since the only stats we care about are power, crit, surge and accuracy. You can only swap accuracy for surge or visa versa, and power for crit or visa versa. Since I am of the opinion that any crit I want comes from the mod slot that leaves some obvious choices: Power+accuracy untill hit cap. What ever you decide that happens to be. The consensus on this seems to be no more than an extra 8% for ops bosses, and no more than 10% for players. Personally I am with holding judgement on this for now, and ignoring the whole ataru proc thing. Then go power+surge. The problem for me arises from the fact that accuracy does not seem to give very much "bang per buck". Meaning you have to invest a lot of points to gain not very much percentage. Especially when compared to surge. But then surge's value is dependant on other factors, namely your crit. So I'm left feeling a little confused and really really wishing we had a combat log/damage meter...
  6. This^ Bloody annoying, when you know that 1v1 you could destroy all of them. Or even 2v1 you could take out at least one of them... Being CC locked from full hp to dead is never fun.
  7. Yeah that is one thing that really fails in this game. The targeting. Two options I've found. One is to target them by clicking with the mouse. Kind of annoying for me. Second option: Tab is the control for "target next enemy". You can either rebind, or bind another key to "target closest enemy".
  8. Sat and sun? That's gotta be hardmode if you didn't one shot it... Better tactic is to split dps. Usually melee on sarno, ranged on jarg. You asked for an ops boss that can be interrupted. 8s interrupt can work, 6s makes it roflmao easy...
  9. You mainly got over 2.5k with dispatch aye? Overkill does not count, so if they only have 2k HP left it doesn't matter what number you see, you wont get medal. This confused me for a while too.
  10. Knock back immunity maybe. Stun never.. Last thing this game needs is even more CC.
  11. Sarno in karragga's. Not to mention the many HM flashpoint bosses.. Like second boss in Esseles. Watchman can keep it locked down solo, otherwise you need a rotation.
  12. Have you tried turning shadows off and the rest of your graphics settings to minimum?
  13. 4m is actually quite far. Combine that with lag and it's quite easy to get all three ticks to hit. And as for the whole, they will be far away thing. Pop it when you have 3s or less left on your leap CD.
  14. No I find the same thing with button 4+5 on the naga.. Simply not very nice to use at all
  15. Have you considered the thought that maybe, bioware suspected the class would be vastly over subscribed due to it's visual appeal and iconic status, and deliberately made it have a high skill threshold? And the guy posting before about how someone with equal skill on any other class will out perform a sent/mara really has no clue what he's talking about...
  16. So you lot are basically saying you've never had a fight with a marauder? Or if you have you didn't notice the DoTs rolling down your screen? If their dot damage was higher than ours, it would be very noticeable! Unless it was insignificantly higher...
  17. Ok for starters "if" you could use the naga you would be fine. With un-modified, shift, alt and ctrl mods you can bind every single bar thats available to it. If like me you aren't comfortable doing that, and want to use the keyboard then here's a couple of tips. It's easily possible to press skill keys and keep at least two fingers on movement keys. Being able to move "forward" with strafe keys is an important skill. At the very least I can press almost any of my keybinds without my middle finger ever leaving the forward button. If I ever have to move my middle finger from the forward button, for example to press 2, 3, 4 then I use both mouse buttons to move forward if I need to do so. Practise moving around without having certain fingers available on movement keys Next, muscle memory. It takes a long time to teach your muscles to go to the right places. From my martial arts days I know it takes several thousand repetitions to get to the point where your muscles will do something without you having to conciously think about it. So it's a case of practise, practise, practise. When you first start, yes it will feel like a massive step back. But once you have learnt it, you will be ahead. Lastly, start simple. Dont keybind 48 abilities then expect to be insta pro at all of them. Start with say 1-5, ERFCT and Q. Bind your most used abilities to them and get used to using them. Once you're comfortable with that, add in shift modifiers of them. The same thing, except you hold down shift with your pinky. Trust me, once you get used to it, you will wonder how you ever played without them.
  18. Several situations it's useful. On someone that's CC'd or otherwise not concentrating on you. On an idiot thats attempting to stay still and stand toe to toe with you. To force someone thats spamming some skill to move, or get hit by the pain train.
  19. When the last patch hit I was kinda sticky for a couple of days. But now it's smooth and silky. Lovin' it
  20. Ah thats good then cos I am the top marauder on the republic side of the WORLD! With laser beam eyes and a foot long *****
  21. Basically yes you are essentially correct in that I use blade storm maybe once per day.. Call it six hours if you like. I used it last night. Alderaan warzone. I had just killed two people. I had used basically every cooldown I had to achieve it. All def cooldowns, camo, stasis, awe and zen. I had literally just dispatched one person to death, I had very little HP. Some sorc, also running on next to no HP knocked me back and rooted me. Every other Imp and Rep was dead. They started to drop lightning on me. I had 4 focus. Blade storm - BOOM dead. One more global and I would have been dead. That is when it's good to use any damn ability you have to achieve the desired effect. Namely them dead and me not. Maybe we're talking around in circles here. As I agree that using it "as part of your rotation" or anything like that is utter fail as watchman. But I have a lot of love in my heart for that 10m range thing. It's saved my *** too many times.
  22. As much as I'd love combat to be on par with watchman, I have found that is not. By a noticeable margin. If it was a case of I cant really notice much difference without a damage meter I would play combat. But I do notice a significant difference. Things just die faster when I play watchman. I try combat every week when my talent reset cost resets. For me playing watchman makes me feel like a marauder, not a sentinel. But I wont gimp myself for RP reasons, and that's what playing combat is at the moment.
