  1. I have multiple characters on both sides. I find the empire more interesting, but have friends and family on the Republic side. so I switch back and forth. Plus I'm a craftaholic and love making all of my own stuff.
  2. At first I didn't like them. Then yesterday I tried again. I was a little better. Then I spent the money on level-1 upgrades. Wow...what a difference it made. Now I love them. They're a nice relaxing side game. Every time I jump in my ship to go somewhere, I always do at least one space mission. I need enough commendations to get those pilot uniform pieces.
  3. Yep. Too bad we can't loot their bodies for it. I find it strange that we can defeat them and their lightsaber magically disappears. * I just defeated this guy with a purple LS...but I'm just going to loot this worthless stuff and take his credits * It's like in other games where we're collecting paws or teeth or something. We kill the animal and there are no parts to loot. What...the beast was hovering and had no paws? Crazy isn't it? I understand why games do loot tables the way they do, but it just doesn't seem right in certain situations.
  4. Great information! Thank you very much!
  5. I just read your guide. Very good info! Thanks!
  6. You said the "J" name! That's just downright evil. +100 Dark points for you.
  7. I only spacebar through the ones I've done before several times. New ones I always enjoy. That's part of the game I really like.
  8. I would be very concerned about that happening. When I was a vendor a few years ago, it was illegal to charge a credit card for a purchase until the purchase was shipped (illegal as in contract law. It violates the merchant contract with the credit card company, and the merchant can lose processing privileges). That is why the pre-orders are only a $5 down payment. The pre-order is delivered right away. The full product is delayed. It's possible things have changed since then, but I would be very leary of a merchant that charge me for a product they couldn't deliver on yet.
  9. This ^^^ I'm not going to make an account for a site I don't care about. I ignore critics. I remember when Star Wars first came out. Siskel and Ebert gave it low marks as a passing cult fad. Yeah. They really got that one right.
  10. I wish we could choose whether it shows the eyes, skin, both, or none. I like the corruption eyes with my red skin, but I don't like my skin fading to pink. So, I just turned it off.
  11. In every mmo I've played in the past 13yrs, game launch time was always filled with trash talk about how terrible the game is. Once their free time ended, they were either forced to quit or pay to keep playing just to complain. Some people just like being annoying until they can no longer play for free. Then they move on to another mmo and start the cycle all over again. Every game has its flaws, but I think some people aren't happy unless they're complaining. A lot of this should start dwindling over the next month or so.
  12. Yes, it's faction specific. Players can't attack their own side without dueling. I don't know if there are level restrictions or not though. I'm on a PVP server, but I haven't run into any enemies yet.
  13. I'm not going to continue at $15/month. So, I signed up for 6-months for me and the wife.
  14. I've tried that as well, and can confirm that it doesn't work. I'll just keeping spending credits on UT missions I guess. Hopefully these will start appearing on the market over time.
  15. I'm torn between keeping synthweaving or switching to something else. I'm wearing custom (orange) light armor that I can upgrade through mods. and is better than anything I can make so far. (Just hit 100 on SW). Since I can upgrade what I wear by upgrading the mods, I'm thinking of switch to artificing. Then again, I'm curious as to what the high level crafted armor looks like vs. dropped/reward armor. The images that have been floating around really make me want something different. Those high level shoulder pads are atrocious. So, I'm debating switching to artificing and making mods for upgrading armor and weapons and then just buy high level crafted from someone else if I like it. Or...keep SW until I can make all the high level stuff I want (put it in storage to be modded), and then switch and start making mods. Or...I may just have an alt make mods and keep both. Then again, I've only been playing for 4 days, so there is still a lot to learn. I need to get some custom schematics. Those are nice, because they will grow/level with you through mod upgrades.
  16. I received my retail product key for the DDE from Origin today. I redeemed the code and setup my subscription plan. I just tested it, and I'm still able to login and play. I haven't checked in game mail for items yet, because I'm at work and logged out right away instead of continuing on. Just wanted to make sure I could still play after reading this thread.
  17. It's account wide. Each character you create gets their own set of items.
  18. My code redemption date was 11/5. My play button is now active. But, I'm at work, so I'm going to have to wait until this evening to actually play.
  19. From everything I've been reading, this is what I'm planning on doing. Anything else I need will be from alts or buying from others to help promote the player economy.
  20. hmm...well... I checked my nVidia control panel, also used a hex editor to check inside the various exe's for TOR; and I don't see any of that info anywhere on my system.
  21. Both, but... I have 3 lifetime subs to other MMOs. Champions Online, Star Trek Online, and LOTRO. I have to admit that if TOR wasn't Star Wars, I wouldn't give it any thought. The combination of SW and MMO that makes SWTOR is what is drawing me in. I know...there was SWG. I beta tested it and didn't care for it. This game, however, has me hooked just from one weekend of beta. I will also admit that I despised Star Wars after the atrocities that George Lucas made of the prequel movies (I watched the original in the theater when it came out in the late 70's, and that set the baseline for me...except for Return of the Jedi...Ewoks? Really? ***!). I can't stand the new movies (too many stupid characters...I'm looking at you Jar Jar). This game is different. It has renewed my love for SW that GL had destroyed in the movies. It only took 30+ years, but it finally happened.
