  1. Its PVE not PVP Server, however thinking about it i think one member of the ops group was flagged, and when they killed him the rest of us were flagged as a result, that's the only thing i can think of. Thanks for the replay anyway, tbh i wasn't expecting any lol.
  2. Hi all, Tbh this is more of an annoyed vent rather than a complaint lol, long story short, a lower level friend asked me to help him beat the WB on tattoine since for the first time since he started playing he saw one, so me an another friend happily teamed up and other lower levels in the area got involved as the group was meeting up, two level 55 sith appeared after loading, stole the boss once they saw our group forming, then somehow flagged the entire team for PVP without us doing anything and not being flagged prior to this, killed all the lower levels and myself (lf 52) then changed instance to take the boss on again. As you could understand we were annoyed by this, so we switched instances to see if the boss would be around to try again, as our team changed to different instances we found both of the lv 55s once again each on there own instance as if they were farming it. What i want to know, first how did they flag our entire group for pvp without our consent, and second i thought instance hopping to kill the same target repeatedly againced the games rules? if so how is it they can do it.
  3. Actually the recent update did help a little in that regard by changing the cap in some high lag areas of the game, but i agree with you while it has somewhat improved it just means instead of lag so bad i cannot move its been reduced to lag so bad i cannot win, better but still not good. The lag issues especially on the European servers are ridiculous sometimes there so bad i cant do anything at all, i once stood waiting to interact with a vender for 15mins, a few days ago i had to wait 40 secs for the game to recognize i pressed the "m" key to view the map and often in fights my health will jump from almost full to 0 without the opponent causing that much damage within the timeframe. Before someone says "its probs just your connection" im on a 30mb like with a minimum of 4mb at all times and an average of 15-20. I think the issue is the fact that the european servers are located in the US meaning the lag time would be no different from playing on a US server, also in addition to this bioware chose to close half the EU servers (idk about others) forcing more players on to already overcrowded servers.
  4. Hi all, as the title says im a Vanguard focusing in Shield Specialist, (trying to tank) looking for some relitivly low level PVP gear, im currently level 28. The issue i have is i have no idea what im looking for so im having a hard time searching GTM since i have to define parameters or do a specific search, could someone help me find something? While im here i was wondering if i could see a good Shield Specialist spec i wouldn't mind some advice, ive been playing since launch but never bothered with PVP until recently (never had a team to play with).
  5. Luke founds the Jedi academy on Yavin 4, Tython is from SWTOR.
  6. Why not consider the legacy series, after all its still loosely based on the same characters from OT Luke even makes an appearance, though I doubt it, my bet would be they create their own story, since characters from OT, PT and KOTOR series have been done to the death, if you consider all cannon (books, comics, games, movies). In regards to comments about the "use CGI to make the OT cast look younger", I seriously doubt it, for one it would cost a fortune, highring the original cast and another fortune for the 100s of artists and the massive amounts of manpower required, much cheaper by far to recast, also knowing Disney there going to aim it at the younger audiences, if so the younger fans are not going to care if they are recast, hell some kids won’t even see a difference, if they cast them well. Another reason would be the difficulty in doing so, in films where it’s been done in the past, a good eye can easily spot the change, it’s also never been done for any long onscreen appearance, in regards to Tron Legacy, count how much screen time Clue has with his face visible, it’s quite short.
  7. Since Lucusarts has been sold and not just the right then technicly SWTOR is now owned by EA and Disney, i doubt they would close the game since it technicly cost them nothing to make and there making money off it, though you might see micky mouse on the jedi council in a future update
  8. Warning Text Heavy! Compared to previous major MMOs that ive played i see SWTOR of having the problem of being too arcade based. Let me explain, in the TOR a player will start the game and progress by completing the same generic story / side missions over and over again while the cut-scenes and names may change the game play never does, kinda understandabull but en the end highly repetitive. Look at SW Galaxies for an example, the game had some massive flaws, but in many ways had more content than most MMOs ever. The Crafting system in Galaxies was by far the best i have ever seen in an MMO along with the play based marketing also, i loved how the massive group quests (FPs) did not reward the player with the best armor they can get but gave the craters the ability to make them to sell to others, i loved how an items value was based on how long it took to make and how good the resources were that went into it. In Galaxies to get the best armor or the best ship / droids / weapons ect, a player had to first unlock the schematic, then harvest the base resources to create more complicated components that eventually combined to create the overall item, the resources that went into these components ultimately defined how were the end product was. Many of the craters would spend mounts or even years real time creating these goods and in return could sell them for credits and earn experience in the process as an alternative to questing if the individual chose to, this allowed for more customization options and an entire new aspect of game-play. However crafting in the modern MMO is reduced to his most basic form and ultimately not something a player enjoys doing, hell in TOR crafting means watching your companions make stuff for you. While i relay do enjoy SWTOR at times it doesn't change the fact that the game really only has two key things going for it, the Star Wars IP and the fact that all quests are given to you in semi interactive plot heavy cut-scenes take both of those factors away and the game is a really basic arcade based MMO, Other game features also that Galaxies had such as the Bounty Hunter system where players could place a "bounty" on other players that needlessly killed them for in-game credits. I would say my Games Design tutor explained this best "You can polish a turd as much as you like but it wont change the fact that its still a turd." I dont think that TOR is a bad game in the slightest but i do think it is exceptional simple for an MMO or an RPG for that matter, and without rebuilding some of the games defining factors this will never change.
  9. This! Ive been saying this from day one, updates are always at inconvenient times for Europe, not to mention that there is now only 3 English EU servers left all of them are overpopulated since the server "merger"
  10. Star Trek Online implemented the trade real life cash for criptic points, and then for in game dilithium that can be traded for credits, now the player market is unusable for high end goods for those that cannot afford to pay. - A web based game called Space Trek introduced a buy credits system allowing people who pay, to buy stronger and better ships, possess more ships than those playing for free allowing these individuals complete control over the game since completely obliterating players for no reason is not violating the games rules. - There is two of the "buy credits" systems ive seen that harm games, the second far worse than the first.
  11. Ive seen several games follow the "buy credits" path and each time the game only becomes playable for those with the deep pockets making those that cannot afford to spend a fortune on a game unable to compete and eventually quit, not exactly a clever business model for subscription based games. Free to play however this system should be introduced so long as its strictly controllable to stop the rich from always dominating the poor, this could be done by capping items max sell prices to stop people abusing the system and of course by creating a free but time consuming method of accessing the same goods, say the same gear you can pay for can also be gained randomly in flashpoints.
  12. Ive never had any problems with server queues since beta until now i kinda think its ridiculous that the servers were closed because there were too few players now after the merger all English euro servers are full or at the very least heavy. At first it seemed decent, however after a few hours i realised that most of the open area quest were so difficult to complete because there were too many players trying to do the same quests at the same time. Fleet bases are also very unstable in peek hours, im not saying the idea is bad just as always none americans got the short end of the stick, we dont even have a PVP server any-more.
  13. I love that ive been playing since launch, that i cancelled my subscription for a few months because i lost my job and the day after i come back without warning i was moved to another server and am forced to rename 3 of my characters. One positive thing i will say about this patch is that the lag issues i used to have in crowded places have been completely resolved.
  14. that was all mentioned lol but its fine now, almost immediately after i posted the topic someone contacted me in-game and helped me kill her, thanks for the reply though.
