  1. Bioware/EA, please get some new voice actors on Makeb. I'm so sick of having to listen to Spike Spiegel in this game and it seems you got him to do 95% of the male voices in the Makeb quests. I used to love his voice in anime, but this game is making me hate it.
  2. It's a basic option in most other MMOs...kind of like the ability to choose your warzone you que for. SWTOR is extremely lacking for features beyond the cash shop.
  3. Interesting points on Kira, considering she has some pretty "dark-side" ideas later on, like Jedi taking over the Senate because they "know what's best" for the universe. Sounds like Palpatine Jr. there, lol. I found a lot of the drivel of the council to be oddly hilarious in the JK story after playing through the Consular story line and knowing a few spoilers. Companions always seem to baffle me with their reactions, like when Corso gives you the 3rd degree about killing the smuggler bimbo who betrays you on Ord Mantell, but then he's perfectly ok with offing a bunch of imp soldiers to get "revenge" for his past. Total hypocrite and a lot of companions do this constantly. The lover's quest on Tython was an easy choice, they made that girl so annoying and mouthy I was more than happy to turn them in. What bothers me is on Ord Mantell with the Trooper, you're expected to follow orders but nearly every time you get the option to do so it's a dark side choice and really aggravating. Some quests though don't make a whole lot of sense. I'm doing Makeb right now and the one where they give you the choice to turn over the isotope to the Imps at the expense of the entire planet or keep it vs. the safety of the mayor, I was like, uh in game I can force push people out of the way and knock them on their behind, why can't I do that to a couple of Imp soldiers before they shoot the innocents? There should be more action options in these things. One of the reasons I enjoy playing my Emp side characters more, especially Sith and Bounty Hunter, you can pretty much do what you please and not worry about it since technically you're supposed to be evil.
  4. This in a nutshell. If I "just wanted to kill people" I'd go play TDM on Call of Duty. MMO PVP is about objectives and faction vs. faction, etc. not just sitting around trying to gank each other.

    Early Access PVP'RS

Been here since early access(Founder) and have subbed and un-subbed on and off for about the last year. I leveled a Consular to 43 right of the gate and then quit the game for almost 7 months, it was just that bad at launch. Even now after being out for a while, it's amazing the lack of PVP content and options compared to other MMOs that launched after SWTOR. This game has/had amazing potential, just needs to be handled by the right company which isn't Bioware/EA. Bioware may have good intentions but it seems EA is calling all the shots which means they are just in it for the cash shop grab. Several MMOs have launched since SWTOR, out of the gate with more pvp options and maps, better character creation, forge or foundry editors to make your own missions and quests/pvp events, etc.

    Oh boy! Oh BioWare!

They could please a lot of PVP/PVE players if they would add a "forge" option or something allowing us to create our own maps for both types of content, etc. This was a big hit with Star Trek Online with the foundry and also in City of Heroes with the architect system that allowed players to create their own quests to share with others.
  7. I tend to agree with you. I'll be honest, I was all excited once I hit 50 and started doing dailies, but then I went to the basic and daily comms vendors to look at the armor that was available for my character and about threw up in my mouth. The stuff that drops in game all looks the same whether you are level 20 or level 50. The CM is really the only place to get any "unique" armor that can kind of set you apart from everyone else and there's no sense of accomplishment to get it. I hate comparing any game to WoW, but love or hate it, WoW had it right and is the #1 MMO for a variety of reasons. It actually felt good to get those rare drops from end game dungeons that you could show off. Now in most MMOs you just go to a cash shop and buy the best looking gear or best gear stats wise. I am more of a casual player, and honestly I don't get the appeal of grinding the same dailies over and over again at end game and would prefer more questing options. As you suggest it would be nice if some of the cooler gear in game dropped from some end game bosses or content, instead of being only available on the CM. To me the CM is a gimmick that is playing on peoples nostalgia, which is why we have a hundred Darth Revans running around, and why we are exploiting the looks of old beloved characters from KOTOR to drive sales in the cash shop. Do we seriously need Carth's armor or Darth Malak's cape or whatever? Do we need 65 different color crystals? You know a slave Leia outfit and YT-1300 skin for the smuggler ship are coming next, lol.
  8. I always thought it was because of the population in SWTOR, the percentage that play PVP is miniscule at best. Any server I've been on that isn't a main PVP server, the que takes forever. It's not uncommon to have to sit there and wait 20-30 minutes to get into a warzone. This is no excuse for PVP to not get full attention as it is part of the larger game, but I think this is one of the reasons that there are so many issues PVP side, Bioware doesn't really much care what is going on as long as they are bringing out PVE stuff for the majority of players and adding fancy new items to their cash shop.
  9. Again, as I mentioned, the PVE in this game is laughably easy regardless of class. Also the "serious" players are only a handful of the actual population in this game. The classes as they are now are largely fine for the majority of the player base for PVE. Not saying that means things don't need fixing, but that is probably the way Bioware looks at it. The majority of players aren't hardcore PVE'ers or PVP'ers, they are the ones probably more like me who can log on for 2-3 hours a night a couple nights a week and maybe if they are lucky get their dailies in. When I hit 55 I'm less focused on end game and more excited to roll a new class and level it. I'm not going to sit there and do a pointless commendation grind every day for what is largely lackluster end game content. BW/EA aren't going to cater to the small percentage of "serious" players that are calling for the fixes and changes, but that's typical of any company that runs a game like this. They are more focused on the cash shop which is the only thing keeping this game going right now because it's really the only place you can get "cool" armor and weapons that make you look different than everyone else.
  10. Sucks to see you go, but as a few others have asked, mind sharing which MMO is garnering your interest?
  11. There are actually some enhancements available that give you +crit and +shield rating. I use these and find it's a great mix for tanking and dps, though in all honesty I don't group much and when I do it's with a small group of friends so my build isn't "cookie cutter" like it's supposed to be. As artifice I was able to RE the level 53 skirmish enhancement to purple and it gives great crit and shield numbers. I have these slotted in all my armor and saber. Besides with Theran around for PVE you are sturdy to begin with. Now if you are going to go with another companion you may want to bulk up more on shield and absorb.
  12. This is true, and in all honesty "underperforming" only matters if you are obsessed with PVP. Any class in this game(I've played just about all of them to at least level 30) is more than capable of handling PVE. PVE in SWTOR is almost a joke, the only game I've played with easier PVE and faster leveling is Star Trek Online.
  13. Ah, that's what I get for not reading patch notes...just did 3 circles around the ring and was like ***??? lol
  14. I'm not finding the appearance designer on either Rep or Imp fleet...did they move it?
  15. I love my shield tank in both PVE and PVP. In PVE trooper has probably been the most fun class for me to play and I've yet to have any issues with any of the PVE content. However in PVP I've heard once you reach rank Vanguard is not the greatest.
  16. I think if given more options for PVP you would have more players trying it out. IMO the biggest issue with PVP is that it's way too bland with not enough balance and therefore is only attractive enough to the diehards hence the lower population.
  17. Agree with this 100%. For as long as SWTOR has been out, it's lacking behind just about every other MMO in terms of options and things to do in PVP as well as good implementation of new content. Bioware/EA is only concerned with the cash shop and exploiting old beloved characters like Revan, Malak, Carth etc. to make revenue to keep this financial disaster afloat. Was reading an article the other day and they mentioned the production costs of this game, it could have been a medium sized budget movie for what they spent on it.

    Large scale pvp...

It's just another baffling thing about this game. I swear SWTOR would be gold in the hands of a company that knew what they were doing with an MMO. It's amazing how lacking the PVP is in this game. It's basic bare bones and that's it. For a game that has been out this long there is no excuse to not have larger group warzones, being able to select what WZ you que for, having more than just cheesy legacy achievements for individual warzones, etc.. I know the PVP community is largely viewed as stagnant but the primary reason in my opinion is the complete lack of any variety and option in PVP in this game.
  19. I hate to compare, it's just that most other MMOs have this option and it's fairly simple and I think overall promotes a better PVP experience. SWTOR for the most part has treated the PVP community like red-headed step children and there is no excuse for a game that has been out this long to not be up to par with other MMOs in the PVP department.
  20. I guess it is, I just really don't like the game itself. Obviously the objective is to score, but 9 times out of 10 I find it just devolving into team death match after one team(usually the Imps) goes up big early on. In the other maps 2 or 3 people that know what they are doing can make up for a bad team, in Huttball it's nearly impossible to win most of the time so I just wish I had the option of avoiding it since it's my least favorite game. I would probably also avoid Voidstar as well.
  21. I did a search and couldn't find anything on this, so if it was covered in the past I apologize. I recently started getting into PVP on SWTOR and there is one really annoying thing for me, the fact that you can't choose which Warzone you are in que for. I really enjoy the objective maps, but I personally can't stand huttball. I enjoy huttball when I get on a decent team, but when pug'ing that is nearly impossible. Rep side you get trounced 90% of the time and it's 3-0 2 minutes into the match because people just don't understand basic elements of the game. It would be really nice to be able to select what WZ you are going into, and most other MMOs offer this feature. It's one of the baffling things about SWTOR really, being out as long as it has, it is still far behind a lot of other MMOs on simple basic features like this. I don't even care if I have to wait a little bit longer in que, if I can select the maps I enjoy. I hate using WOW as an example, but if you want to play PVP in Alterac Valley, than you can select Alterac Valley, etc. There's none of this random nonsense.

    PvP Suggestion

I would prefer they make it so you can turn the pvp missions in anywhere. It's really annoying if I'm questing on a planet and decide to take a break and run a few matches, then have to run back to fleet or home planet to turn them in.
  23. This is one of the reasons you should be able to select what WZ you are queing for. I find it a bit ridiculous that you que for random WZs when pretty much every other MMO out there allows you to choose which arena or WZ you are going into.
  24. I must be in the minority but I love my Vanguard in PVP, though I chose to go shield specialist and fill more of a tanking/defensive role for holding objectives. Damage output isn't the greatest, but I can hold my own and if we have a decent healer that is paying attention I can take a boatload of punishment. My only disclaimer is that this is in pre-50-55 pvp, as I'm only 40 on my Vanguard right now, but having a real blast with her in both PVE and PVP.
  25. Had to group to beat him on any class I've tried it on, even cycling my 4 interrupts on my Shadow he still spams his big cast way too much to interrupt it everytime.
