  1. This is inherently one of the main problems with SWTOR and most new MMOs. There is no community sense or value in this game. People would rather run around and fight over things instead of grouping or teaming to get the objective. This is why you have so much resource and quest node ninja'ing/stealing on the main planets in the starting areas. I can slightly understand it and it doesn't bother me as much on Empire side since by default the Sith are always trying to screw one another over, but that aside, it's a very annoying aspect of SWTOR. WoW is going the same direction but in the old days of WOW and other MMOs like City of Heroes, what made them so enjoyable was the community feeling on each game and server. SWTOR doesn't have that. The forums are a giant *****/moan fest about everything.
  2. I thought the spawn rate on the resource nodes on some of the starting planets was bad, but this even takes the cake. I must have wandered Ord Mantell for 30 minutes to find the first guy, then had to just sit there and camp him. At least 4/5 times he decline to give info unless I used the interrogation droid item. Picked up the first contract and it will be my last. Way too much tedious work for little reward with this event. I would have rather spent the time advancing my quest line. Maybe for 55s who having nothing to do this can kill some time, but it's a very lack luster and silly event.
  3. I feel your pain and honestly can't stand the Bind on Pick Up stuff. My trooper was my first go at armormech and I got so excited when I found the Rakata schematics from the trainer, especially since I run with a friend who plays a smuggler and is armstech. Basically as we've been leveling I've been making us both blue/purples for armor and he does the same with blasters/weapons, etc. Now I find out I can get Rakata schematics for medium armor but they are BOP...which is completely useless for me. I have the same complaint on my Consular who is maxed in Artifice...basically anything good that people would want I can make but I can't sell since it's BOP.
  4. R/E the lower level armors, especially in the 10-30 range. It takes a good while to get the purples unlocked, for some reason the chest and leggings take forever to get the purples, but you can make a good bit selling those. I'm on Jedi Covenant and found the GTN is mostly bare for good(blue/purple) Trooper gear in the mid range levels so that is normally what I craft and sell, especially the helmets. Can also make some good money on augments of all ranges. My Mk-1/2 sell just as well as the higher ones. It's just getting the schematics for them that can be a pain in the butt.
  5. It's going for about 14k(per piece) minimum on Jedi Covenant. Was looking around last night, my trooper is only 36 but I've already maxed out Armormech and was going to start crafting the Rakata gear ahead of time, have all the other mats except the Iron.
  6. I've found the sweet spot for most of these is farming the grade 2-4 stuff and putting it on the GTN. A lot of players are looking to craft gear for thier alts they can use at lower and mid levels and are looking for the blue and purple underworld metals for grade 2-4. That's where I make most of my credits, just selling them in stacks. On my server a lot of the grade 2 stuff goes for 1000k a pop or more depending on the material.
  7. In short, no. Would be neat if they would add stats like that to crystals. I've found +power is pretty helpful for a nice boost to DPS on my Vanguard though. I seem to get more benefit from it than +critical.
  8. Agreed, I'm not quite sure what it is, but the MMO community of SWTOR is down right awful compared to just about every other MMO I have played (WoW, Star Trek Online, City of Heroes, Champions, GW2, etc.) Probably the only reason I stay with this game is I have a friend who also plays and we are on about the same schedule and available to play at the same time and we have several "duos" of characters we have made where they work well together and we play through all the quests together. Makes it a lot more fun having one person you know knows what they are doing. We are able to do most of the Heroic 4s even with just companions and it makes the game a lot more enjoyable. Best example of the TOR community is to just log in and watch general chat every night, it's either a PMS war between players or some of the most idiotic banter going on that I have ever seen.
  9. I really do enjoy the game, but will give the OP credit because they had some very valid points, especially with some of the quests and resource ninja looting. I really can't stand playing Coruscant or Taris when it's crowded at the lower levels now. Bioware doesn't seem to have a very good idea of resource respawn time, especially on some quests where you have to click a glowie. It's for this reason I often just skip the stupid quest on Taris where you have to throw bombs in the Rakghoul caverns through the pipes. Those pipes are hard to find and often when you do find one someone else ninjas it from you or it is still respawning. Same goes for "kill" quests for bonuses. Often times the respawn rate is either just right or completely awful. Best example is the Gree mission in Coruscant where you have to kill 10 droids. It takes forever if there are more than 2 people in there, but then other areas the enemies respawn quickly and kill quests do not take that long to complete. However I do disagree on leveling and game difficulty that is hinted at in the OP. SWTOR is probably the easiest MMO I have played besides Star Trek Online. The opening planets, especially Ord Mantel and Hutta are laughably easy. If you do the majority of the quests on each planet and take time to do Heroics and Flashpoints you will be way over leveled for the content, not to mention with all the XP boosts in game now. I find myself almost always +2 or +3 to content when starting a new planet, so much so that now I actually skip quests to try to be closer to level. You out level quest rewards so fast it isn't even funny.
  10. It seems to work in odd ways for me. Been trying to R/E a bunch of stuff with my trooper lately with armormech. It seems that I nearly always get a new schematic within 2-3 tries with gloves, belt or bracers or augments, but if I try to R/E chest or leg pieces, it's either taking forever or I never get them. Honestly with the gloves and belts I'm getting the purple schems unlocked literally within 2-3 R/Es, but have yet to unlock a purple piece of armor, either chest or leggings.
  11. Ugh...no, she is probably my least favorite NPC class contact in the game.
  12. One of the things I wish they would look at is how some of the stuff binds. I think it's silly that I can craft a lvl 47 or 50 light saber(orange that can be modded) but it comes with no mods and a crap early level color crystal in it but if I try to put mods or enhancements into it to make it more enticing on the GTN it binds to me and I can't do anything with it. I would love to be able to create a modable saber that I can slap a high level crystal in with high level enhancement/hilt and then be able to put that on the GTN.
  13. Agreed, and the Skip Tracer packs for me have been the worst, nothing but useless Imperial/Republic Banners and pointless other things. Don't think I've gotten one good drop from a Skip Tracer pack besides a couple of the red-orange crystals. I also think it's funny how the droid customizations bind to you so if you get the Imp droid as a Rep the only thing you can do with it is trash it, lol. Personally I also kind of don't like the packs just because now you have 800 "Revans" running around and they've basically taken one of the coolest/unique characters in lore and made their look common place.
  14. Agree with a lot of what is here already, but lately Elara is starting to get on my nerves ever since I got to Tatooine. Her heals are great and all but she really gets annoying when I want to kill Imps...quoting rules and all this nonsense. Since I don't play my trooper "by the book" this gets a little aggravating. I didn't like Corso from the get go, naming his weapons...then I let him shoot the guy in the head on Ord Mantel to get his "revenge" and then he gets all hypocrit with me when I catch the hussy back in the base conspiring with Skavik and introduce her face to a blaster bolt, he gives me the 3rd degree about it. On my Consular I wouldn't mind putting Zenith and Iresso in the same room and venting it to space, just find the two of them completely useless both on crew and using them in game. Nadia is a bit of a whiner but at least she can do a few things.
  15. Honestly to me the most helpful thing ever is the unlocking of a GTN and mailbox for your ship. This unlocks account wide for all your characters and saves so much time on the early planets if you need to get some gear, you don't have to go running back to fleet. I'll be honest...other than that the legacy system is kind of "meh" especially the vendor.
  16. The CM is fine as far as I'm concerned, as long as they don't go the route of Star Trek Online and make it "pay to win" by putting awesome gear out there that you can only get on the CM. STO did this with the better end game ships so if you want to do well at PVP you are pretty much forced to drop the $$$ and buy one of their special items from the store rather than be competitive with end game gear you can craft or find in game.
  17. Respawn times are an issue on almost any planet that has quests where you have to click a glowie or collect things. It's bad on Coruscant, it's bad on Taris, etc. One are where I would like to see them go the route of Guild Wars 2 and make everything clickable for each person once so you don't have to sit around waiting for a computer panel to respawn 5 minutes later.
  18. I was really excited when I finally got him as I wanted to have this cool combat droid with an awesome voice following me around to kill Imperial scum, then the first few mobs on Tatooine I found out he was way too squishy. With a lack of good droid parts on the GTN on my server I just shelved him, especially since I am Vanguard, I am a better tank than him already. I found Jorgen to be a much better "tank" and really so far I've yet to find a better companion for myself than Elara since she really reduces the down time between mobs. I think the main problem is on our server droid parts are so hard to come by and the ones on the GTN are over 100k credits a pop even for the level 28-29ish stuff which to me just isn't worth it, I don't even spend that much on my own gear.
  19. I use it mostly for my alts. My main is a 46 right now, but she's fully maxed in crafting. Artifice just doesn't seem to do much for me. I used to be able to sell Crystals fairly well on the GTN, but not anymore and none of the lightsabers I can make ever sell that well either. Recently though I've found a nice niche with the lower level enhancements as it seems there are never any on the market so I just started making a bunch of blue and purple ones and putting them up and now I'm getting some good sales.
  20. I think they meant vendor sell them. The GTN is over saturated with these items now so sometimes it would be nice to just be able to dump them off at a vendor rather than having to deal with the hassle of reposting them.
  21. One of the most maddening things about this game is how wildly the story boss fights vary from class to class in terms of difficulty. It almost seems with some classes they want to force you to group in order to win while with other classes the boss fights are a complete joke that you can solo easily. There is no middle ground with bosses. Some you feel you beat way too easily for them to be a major character/enemy and others are just so unfairly overpowered it makes the game so annoying you don't want to play for awhile. *Shrug*
  22. The way I look at it you are playing an evil side character so you should have some twisted options, especially if you are Sith. Murder, deception, etc. are all part of your job description. If a Repulic Trooper can threaten to kill children to get some mission objectives done than a Sith or Imp character should be able to be as evil as you want them to be. Honestly I wish you had more "kill" options on both sides for some NPCs. I didn't really get why I was able to gun down a couple of Imp officers and then when I get to Nar Shadda I couldn't kill the guy playing "faceoff" with the Republic soldiers.
  23. Barrel Roll seems to be useless, even in the non-HM space missions.
  24. Also for companion weapons. Honestly the colors don't look too bad for the blasters/rifles, but I agree with the lightsabers they look mostly horrendous with the exception of the cyan one. I guess the Red-Orange is alright for a Sith and gives you something different than everyone else at lvl 10. They are handy for the +41 endurance early on, helps you have less down time between mobs at the lower levels.
  25. It's not working for the Orange-Red ones you can get in the Skip Tracer pack either. *Shrug*
