  1. Malgus does try to lead a revolution of sorts where aliens are embraced, at least by his supposed regime. He apparently had a vision for a more progressive Empire, he even tries to help you out on Ilum as a Republic player. I wouldn't put much stock in the Sith Code either, after all they harp on later about the "Rule of Two" though that is broken more often than not. The Sith and the Jedi are both a bunch of hypocrites half the time when dealing with their own "rules."
  2. General Garza...seriously that woman is insufferable. I think it's hilarious that during the Senate hearing after Tavus and co. defect no matter what options you pick to tell them she still reams your hind end about it later. Oh and Satele also, for a lot of the mentioned reasons, plus she had a fling with Tavus before he defected, she likes those Trooper boys...
  3. You're not alone, I have a 55 and several 20-40 level alts, I think I have 14 chars total on the server and I'm only at level 13 and been playing since the legacy system came out. To me though the only things that are worth it are having the GTN and mail on your ship, just makes things easier so you don't have to go running to fleet every time. The xp unlocks are also ok for faster leveling.
  4. We've(some of us I guess...not as many as a year ago) been clamoring for Togruta for a good while now, especially since there are so many you interact with in your storylines and there is already a companion. Shaak Ti being my favorite Jedi, I really wanted to play one. There used to be a ton of threads on this when the player base was a bit larger.
  5. To me the Jedi outfits don't have to be iconic or look like the movies, they just need to look different and interesting. The problem is most of the gear at end game for Jedi looks terrible and none of it is unique. You get better looking armor on Tython than you do anywhere else in the game and quite honestly, whoever designed the commendation gear should be fired, it looks hideous. You mean to tell me I'm going to sit here and grind dailies to wear that ugly awful robe or head piece? The hide head slot option should also be usable to hide the hood if you don't want it up and they need to fix the hair clipping issues with chest pieces that have down hoods.
  6. Well even back in the day before they bled subs the PVP was still "meh" at best, which I guess is what you are saying in that people finally just bailed when it was apparent BW didn't care about improving or balancing PVP. The game engine itself is pretty bad, the fact you can't have more than 8v8 because of the game engine is pretty downright embarrassing for BW/EA, especially after so much money was spent on developing the game, that's a pretty big thing to screw up.
  7. This is pretty much it in a nutshell. While WZs were a bit of a mixed bag from 10-54, I can tell within the first 2-3 minutes of a match at 55 whether or not it's a lost cause just based on team make-up and seeing how they initially react. You can tell right away that you have no chance to win no matter how good YOU actually play because for the most part, especially in PuGs, people just don't understand basic strategy. I can't tell you how many times I sit there and laugh while watching my team trying to cap 2 guns in Novare Coast when we already have one. They don't get the basic strategy of only needing 2 of 3, so instead of sending one big mass to the center gun they sent two teams of 3 and spread out which means we don't cap any turrets. You can try to chat and suggest what they do but no one listens, at least not in pick ups. In Huttball it's 2-3 to nothing within the first 4 minutes, no one is going to "try hard" after that and half the team usually quits. I'm sorry but you are not winning a Hutt Ball match with a 5 person team and you are not coming back by yourself no matter how hard you "try."
  8. Actually it is a joke. The fact this game has been out for a decent amount of time and still lacks the most basic of pvp functions that many other games have is just proof of that. The pvp experience is not complex at all and games that release after SWTOR come packed with much better pvp. Bioware knows how to make a good single player RPG, but they are sorely lacking when it comes to multi-player experience. The other issue is the gaming population these days. You have a lot more casual players in MMOs than you did several years ago and most just don't seem to even bother with pvp. I'd be honestly surprised if the entire amount of people that pvp in SWTOR is higher than 2-3% of the game's population. The que on my server even during prime time sometime takes 30-40 minutes before I can even get into a match. That is the main reason BW just leaves pvp in the sorry state it is, not enough people play it to make a difference.
  9. Not necessarily, in the Halo games for example you are assigned a CSR or Competitive Skill Rank after each match and you are rated on whether it's an individual performance based match or team performance. The system then ranks people of similar CSRs against one another when you are doing random match-making. CSRs range from 1(noob) to 50(hardcore) with most falling in the mid 20s-30s. I think the OP is suggesting a system like this.
  10. Honestly it just doesn't fit into my rotation. About the only time I'll use it or get to it is as a last ditch interrupt in boss fights. Of course I solo content 95% of the time so only person I'm tanking for is my companion usually. Sometimes though it is fun to just blow a bunch of enemies off of a ledge, lol.
  11. The problem is you will never see it not revolve around casual players and/or the cash shop. The sad fact is the people who actually PVP are a massive minority in this game which is why BW/EA just don't care about it and why the game has been out for 2 years and still lacks behind just above every other MMO in terms of PVP features. I mean the fact you can't even choose what WZ you are in que for is just ridiculous. Depending on the time of day it's not uncommon on my server to wait 30-45 minutes after queing up to get into a WZ match.
  12. Just a bit of warning, PVP at 55 is nothing like it was 10-54. Where as in 10-54 you could get away with only having 1-2 good people carrying a team, at 55 you will slaughtered with a bad team every time. Huttball is a joke, at least on my server. Emp side wins 99% of the time and it's usually overwith in under 5 minutes with a 6-0 score. Bolster also doesn't seem to matter much in 55, as the people who are "good" have already gotten their awesome PVP gear and basically if you are just starting out you will get crushed. I did pretty well in PVP from 10-54 on my Shadow, consistently around the top in damage and protection and objectives, but just starting out in 55, I just get ganged up on and ganked in like 5 seconds. I have 4 pieces of Partisan gear from WZ comms I had from previous pvp, but it hasn't helped so far. The main thing though however is how good the teams are, if you are in a PuG up against a pre-made you're going to get smoked.
  13. If you roll Infiltration you are just not that sturdy, so having Theran with you is almost a must if you don't want a lot of downtime between mobs. I actually switched from infiltration over to kinetic right around 46-47 and haven't looked back. Interrupting is also huge on a Consular and I would suggest using the interface editor to make the enemies cast bar larger and more identifiable. Consular has a ton of interrupt utility and you can save yourself a lot of damage using them.
  14. Trooper ship design is basically just a bigger and bulkier B-wing. The majority of the ship designs in game borrowed from ships we've seen on the big screen.
  15. Interesting points. I was wondering why the affection gains were so big with Theran depending on certain choices at the end there, it had been so long since I had picked him on Nar Shadda I had forgotten about the connection with Syo.
  16. Xenith and Iresso are really your only two options. I find Iresso boring and Xenith is as anti-social as they get. I'd rather romance Qyzen than either one of them, lol. It seems a bit funny that the male characters get their pick of amazing females, but when it comes to a female toon in this game, you are stuck with some grade A garbage of the universe for male companions to romance.
  17. They def. need this for Huttball, if it even gets to 2 or 3 to 0 people flock from the game. There's no point in playing out the remainder. Then again, there's a lot of pvp options that this game "needs".
  18. DaShuk

    Large scale pvp...

One small example, the majority of PVP games do not allow cross platform.
  19. Died the first time because I tried to interrupt the nuke. Did the circles method the next time with Nadia DPS/Tanking him and took him down in literally 20 seconds, this was an easier fight then the Consular storyline boss, lol. Honestly just run in circles, save your cooldown to get out of his slow before he fires and just hang on his side blasting/hacking away.
  20. A lot of us have been asking for them for a long time. Just type in Playable Togruta in the search box and you'll get a bunch of threads. It doesn't help that there are a bunch of them as NPCs plus Ashara, it couldn't be that hard to make the species playable. The Cathar were apparently the more asked for choice, plus it gave them an excuse to add a few more weapons and Cathar specific items to the cash shop. Personally I don't like Cathar, but I'm basing that on having to put up with Jorgen and the annoying Senator you have to rescue during the trooper storyline.
  21. Oh I'm sorry...I should have ranted about PVP or something else...and btw I know that's his character name in anime, he was also Mugen and the voice of Teletran 1 for Transformers and the videogames, was just being sarcastic. Just seems they took a popular voice actor and exploited him to death in this game.
  22. I think the modding system is a great idea, mainly because the majority of the armor in this game looks terrible. So if you can find that one orange piece you like you can stick with it as long as you want.
  23. I finished Corellia right at 50, and then just doing the daily runs through Ilum, Section-X, and Black Hole once, I was nearly 53. I'm not even halfway through Makeb content yet and about to ding 55 pretty soon. It's been a cake walk so far. I would suggest getting there around 51 so it's a bit of a challenge.
  24. It's almost worth it to save your cartel coins and just buy the unlocks, then you can let your sub lapse and still enjoy all the features w/o paying.
  25. See I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum and found HK-51 to be largely useless as a companion, plus droid parts are an absolute rip-off in this game since hardly anyone on most servers crafts them, so the ones that do show up on the GTN are way over priced. Only reason I even bothered with the quest was being bored at 55. I have a ton of alts both sides though so it was no big deal to do the other side content for it.
