  1. I liked Corso, until the end of Ord Mantel. He's totally ok with offing some poor separatist SOB, but then he gets all uppity on me because I shoot the backstabbing two-timing bimbo that has been betraying us to Skavik the whole damn time we were on the planet, plus killed his boss!! I was like "Dude you're a total hypocrite, **** and stay on Ord Mantel!" That having been said, he is a fairly useful 1st companion, a lot better than Qyzen or T7. I think the trade off for getting a lightsaber is getting crappy 1st companions as a Jedi, and after being stuck with Qyzen all the way through Taris, Corso is a breath of fresh air.
  2. Would help to know what skill tree you are going with. I would suggest looking at some of the Shadow guides to figure out what rotation you should be using for your skill tree. I set my quickbars up based on my rotations needed, whether for PVE or PVP. It makes a big difference with a Shadow in terms of DPS and survivability.
  3. I've been able to get back on JC without any issues so far...
  4. Or perhaps the hackers could cease their childish and damaging behavior. Just saying. There is no need for this type of thing to happen. It's just a bunch of people whose parents didn't hug them enough now taking out their deep rooted psychological issues on the rest of the world for no damn good reason. They take internet tough guy and hiding behind a computer to a whole new level.
  5. Noticed he was speaking to you in guild chat, so I'm highly doubting the story of him "brushing you aside." Thinking this was more set up than anything.
  6. Shadow is a slow developing class in any tree. 1-30ish is a rough go of it. Class blossoms and really gets fun in the 40s. I remember almost quitting the class all together while doing Belsavis, it was like pulling teeth, but once I got into the 40s it started to get fun and I was finally able to use some companions besides Theran.
  7. Personally I've enjoyed soloing with my Shadow the most because once you get to the later stages in the game you can stealth past so many trash mobs. Makeb on my Shadow was great, on any other class it's been awful having to fight a mob every 3 feet through some of those areas, takes forever. Given that if you play the majority of the content you out level planets pretty fast, stealth can come in handy when you just want to go from A to B and not deal with the 17 mobs that they put every 2 feet so you get knocked off your speeder every 5 seconds and have to fight. Shadow can also solo a lot of heroics more easily when you just need to get to an objective or take out one boss.
  8. Low maintenance answer for me would be Infiltration if you want to DPS and Kinetic Combat if you want to tank. My Shadow was my first toon to 55 and a labor of love. I started off as balance and nearly quit the class all together because of how much of a grind the game was, especially early on. Playing balance through the early levels was like pulling teeth. I switched to infiltration in the 30s and all of a sudden the game was fun again, but you have to stick to your rotations. As of right now I have changed over to Kinetic Combat since I solo quite a bit and have found it easier to burn through dailies with less down time using KC. You can still put out some fairly good damage if you build right. The guide that is stickied in the Shadow Forum is a great place to start. Honestly I can't say much about balance because after trying Infiltration and KC I never went back.
  9. I was going to mention this to. Shadow was my first 55 and you are much more melee oriented than a force user. If you want to feel all flashy throwing rocks and force powers around, Sage is the way to go. Also makes the first bit of the game easier as there is a lot of down time with Shadow until you get your healer companion which isn't until after Taris. However stealth can be a huge benefit as it lets you skip some trash mobs and take on things you normally wouldn't be able to do without a group. I've solo'd plenty of Heroic-4s just stealthing past the mobs to get to the main objectives.
  10. Your love interest will call you by your title during the part where they talk about getting married, at least mine did.
  11. Because she's a grand master and can do what she wants as most Jedi in the Star Wars lore have shown. It's honestly pretty laughable that BW puts restrictions on the Jedi classes to begin with. They should have just made one Jedi class and let you choose from the 4 sub classes if you wanted to specialize in a certain area. All Jedi can use various force powers, all Jedi can use the different types of light sabers, etc. There is no reason that a sage shouldn't be able to use a double bladed saber and a shadow shouldn't be able to use a single saber. All Jedi have shown they can use force speed for the most part in the films, why does just one class get it in the game? etc.
  12. From playing both I can tell you balance on a Shadow will make you pull your teeth out. KC and Infil are just so much better for everything in the game than balance, there is really no reason to use anything from that tree except a few of the bottom level talents once your other tree is maxed. My main is a 55 Shadow, and I know if I hadn't switched out of balance to infiltration in the mid 30s I would have just deleted the toon and been done with it.
  13. It actually might do the opposite. One of my big gripes with PVP is that I have to get stuck in arenas or Huttball in order to get lucky and maybe pull a WZ map out of the hat. Some people love huttball, I personally could care less if they took it out of the game tomorrow. For me it's always a waste of time getting thrashed 6-0 or 6-2 or some lopsided score, where I could be in a WZ playing objectives and actually getting something out of it win or lose. I wish they had a WZ only playlist or at least some way for us to pick the maps or a grouping of maps. I think you would honestly see an uptick in PVP participation if WZs had their own list, Arenas had their own, etc.
  14. Personally, and I know this will be an unpopular opinion, I think the amount of comms needs to be lowered for gear in general, not just for PVP. The main reason being I am not a "hardcore" player by any means, but I also don't suck at PVP and I enjoy playing it. However, for a person like me who can only play a handful of hours a week, it's darn near impossible to grind enough comms to get any kind of meaningful gear. Not to mention now that arenas have been put into the playlist for PVP que, I honestly find myself playing less and less, so comms are scarce for me.
  15. My rise to 55 on my Consular went in three phases. I started as Balance and found it horrible pretty much all the way through the 30s. I changed to infiltration and it was like a complete turn around. Mobs were suddenly going down fast and the game was fun to play again. When I hit the 50s I went back into Kinetic Combat using one of the guides on here and I haven't looked back since. Balance has never been an enjoyable tree for me on any of my Shadows.
  16. I have had this game since launch but honestly have never gotten into any of the end game raiding, hardmode FPs, etc. and I just dabble a bit in PVP. I can hold my own in unranked pugs, but again I'm not a hardcore player by any means. Mostly due to my obsession with making alts and playing all the other stories. Anyways, I'm looking for a casual guild to join for my main level 55 Shadow Consular Ti'Shala. She's geared out pretty decently, but I'm still working on getting my dailies done to get better gear. Mostly I'm just looking for people to group with to do missions and dailies and anything else. I am on weeknights usually between 10pm-2am Eastern in the US. I don't voice chat or have a mic or any of that stuff, and I'm not a huge fan of requirements to join a guild, just looking for a fun laid back place to hang out and get some end game stuff started.
  17. This was the case for me when I first got there. Pretty much rolled all the outside mobs, but I have still yet to beat the first cave boss on republic side with my Shadow. Died 5 times in a row trying it multiple different ways, there is just no good way for a melee to counteract the tentacles so I gave up and went elsewhere. Went back on one of my troopers and killed the first cave boss easily, so it seems it was designed to give melee classes fits.
  18. Finally giving up after 6 tries, it's just not worth the pain or effort. This boss is ridiculously hard for melee classes, by the time you see the tentacle and run to it he sacrifices it. No one in general chat seems to want to group up either to help or make it easier. Oh well. *shrug* Edit: Tried it out on my Trooper and he went down in under 45 seconds. Being ranged gives you huge advantage on this guy, but I just can't for the life of me beat it with a melee character.
  19. Glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks this. EA/Bioware could also take some notes from Bungie on the ranking system.
  20. I guess I just really don't get all the hate for "casuals" or is there another definition of it I'm missing? I work 50-60 hours a week and between R/L and other stuff, I might be able to get on TOR for 2-3 hours a night 2-3 nights a week. I might play 3 PVP matches, I might play 10, who knows. I'm not a "hardcore" by any means and I'm still working on getting my 1st PVP gear set. That having been said, I know every war zone inside and out and I consistently pull my weight in matches often getting a few MVP votes and finishing pretty solidly in the stats. I see people with Valor ranks much higher than mine that "suck" a lot worse than I do. Honestly I haven't really cared much since they brought arenas in and stuck them in the same playlist. I love WZs and objective games, but can't stand Huttball or Arenas. I'll at least play Huttbull though and give it the ole' college try, but Arenas are awful and half the time in a pick-up it's a one-sided slaughter and not even worth playing. However I will say part of the problem is the so-called "elite" portion of the PVP community that thinks their **** doesn't stink. I know gaming communities in general have been going downhill since the days of City of Heroes and the initial years of WOW, but SWTOR has to take the cake for most arrogant and mean spirited community. Instead of complaining about all the bads, why not point them to some vids or give them some tips in a warzone. Why not take 5 minutes out of your oh so important game time to teach them something about the Warzone or match they are in? You can spend an hour or two on youtube and learn a ton about PVP and then just trial and error. You can show them build calculators, suggest builds and rotations, etc. Instead of being jack ***es all the time about how much people suck, why not take some initiative and try to improve things?
  21. Getting even halfway decent pvp gear in this game is a grind and a half unless you can play 7-8 hours a day.
  22. I call BS, lol. I'm lucky to ever see anyone in Outlaws Den, no matter what time of day it is.

Honestly I took a look at it and got bored 2 minutes into the trailer. It just looks like a combo of WOW and GW2 with outdated graphics for a game that comes out in 2014. *shrug*
  24. Not sure, but I'd honestly think twice before spending $400 for this MMO.
  25. I'm glad my first run through on Makeb was on my Shadow. As the one Gree droid on Coruscant says... "Never going back..." lol. The planet would have been absolute torture had I not been able to stealth through half of the mobs. I thought Voss was bad with the thousands of creatures and elites littering every path, but Makeb takes the cake. I'm running through the dailies on my Shadow once and then will probably leave. I don't plan on going back anytime soon with any other characters. There is plenty of content to get to 55 elsewhere.
