So I followed up on this and observed the fight, specifically Jakarro. He, as you said, uses Guard, but he didn't apply it to a visible NPC, nor to me (or my comp), so I reckon it's either bugged or a joke and put on the droid. His other ability is the Sticky Grenade, which does very little and his third ability, in addition to shooting, is the "Pulse Round" which applies a DoT, and also doesn't do much. So yeah, he's useless.

It's actually kinda sad that Jakarro is the only one of your allies in that fight that fits no class archetype. At all. If he's supposed to be a Vanguard... well, he sucks at it. Super off-topic.

Jakarro is really big, even by Wookiee standards he looks like a mountain. Give him 2 Ryyk Blades and make him mDPS, I say.

It gets better: his character class is defined as "Tank", the same as Marr. Jakarro is even worse than Marr at this, and Marr is barely better than the GSI droid at holding aggro. He also doesn't seem to contribute significant damage. In fact, despite the fact that Jakarro and D4 are adorably evil, I always free them last, because Emperor knows, I'd win the fight without them. I guess him guarding the droid might be the truth.

To be fair to the poor MMO mechanics, she's actually very high on his threat table. It's basically (Tank companion) > PC > Marr > (well equipped non-HK DPS comp) > Satele > Lana > whatever. If he catches the player and Marr in a stun, he very much tries to kill Satele. Not that it matters because everyone's basically in godmode so he'll never manage anyway.

Just Sav-Rak being a pain the butt when he keeps jumping in 5 second intervalls while his acid is getting stronger. But yeah, shouldn't have issues at 60. Actually, at 60 with my Jugg tank, I wasn't slower soloing these than at 55 in a group, so there's that. And on Battle of Ilum you just walk past most of the stuff anyway.

Buy modifications from a vendor for basic comms. Then mail them to your alt (modifications aren't bound on pickup so this works) or maybe use legacy storage (never tried, dunno if it works). Use your alt to sell them to a vendor (must be done within 2 hours of buying, else you will not be able to get the comms refunded). Might take a while if you spend the whole bunch. Also, keep in mind your new character can't exceed 1000/1000, so don't waste the others for no reason.

I was thinking more of him gifting it to his favored apprentice that we haven't met yet - I'd kinda like that. Lachris being his only apprentice ever seems off, considering others have entire entourages.

I don't dislike the thought either - although then again, it would be nice if somebody would care to tell us the stories of Marka Ragnos and Tulak Hord - including the actual height of their power - at some point EVER (I actually have little doubt they will find their way back into canon, eventually). Tulak Hord has been a mystery for over a decade. All we know is that he looked like Shredder and was powerful. Also, I just realised that the name for the Ragnos ghost achievement is a stupid pun.

Oh, I want full-out war on Onderon with a descendant of Freedon Nadd involved. I really want that. And going to Dxun would be nice, too, even if it's just an Operation. And I'd like to meet the misinformed general C2-D4 spoke of.

Could mean a lot, really. Anything from lazy programming over him just being ambiguous about something that happened in your class story (even if you didn't make any DS choices and are not having the funsies with a companion) to canned character backstories.
