  1. Bioware doesn't care about players. They don't even have a player retention program. Other than the anonymous survey, I have not been contacted since I unsubscribed from the game. They just don't care.
  2. BH Merc is my primary class. I played a successful, appreciated and happy Healer until the beginning of March, then I switched to Pyro and recently switched to Arsenal. Since patch 1.2 I have no reason to play healer anymore as the guild only wants OP/SORC healers. For PvP I prefer Pyro. As the guild wanted to run HM/NMM FPs/OPs, I have played Arsenal. I have tried to run Arsenal in PVP, but as others have said, unless you are real careful to stay behind a pack, you get shut down pretty quick. As a Pyro in PvP, if I had a solid healer like Snooj, I could fight, fight, fight non stop as a Pyro and be extremely effective. If we had Dual Spec or no cost respec, I'd be having more fun. I say this because I would be playing both PvP and PvE equally hard. Instead I tend to play more PvE and have slacked on PvP because I don't want to respec every day. I have several alts but no real interest in rolling any of them to 50, let alone gear grind them to be competitive in PvE or PvP. In this regard, the game has become it's own worst enemy. The Devs nerf classes, possibly in an effort to make players roll alternate classes, then make gear progression a slow grind. I don't have the time to play alternate classes that hard, so the game has quickly become an unbearable grind with the real possibility that no matter what class you chose as an alternate, it might nerfed into the ground next. That's not a fun gaming experience IMHO. I too have unsubscribed and have a little over a month + the 30 day free period left. I also feel the BH Merc/Commando classes were overly nerfed and I don't plan on resubscribing unless the BH Merc/Commando classes are fixed. Given rumors of 1.3 release are for the end of June and 1.3 will not have dual spec, I am almost certainly going to be gone from the game. Honestly, if it were not for my guild friends, I might not be playing at all. Kinda sad considering how long I lived in anticipation of this game.
  3. Sorry but this "fix" wan not necessary. As a guild, we help one another, and in this case we help those members who get hit with the repair costs when many of us could exit. Now, in many cases nobody can survive a wipe. Result... more run out of money during long OPs play, thus we either can't finish or some members have stopped playing. Removing the ability to exit so the entire team does not wipe is just another example of another stupid credit sink in the game and Bioware saying FU to it's subscribers.
  4. /signed There are far to many tedious traveling mechanics. There should be a few more quick travel options AND players should not to have to invest (Legacy $$$) in cooldown reductions for quick travel or fleet passes. Also I fail to understand the need for cool down requirements for quick travel and fleet pass. How does that contribute to the game experience? Required normal travel to/thru an area once yes, but there after expedite the traveling process. Now that being said, if there are some traveling mechanics which mask the loading of resources to a new area, perhaps the travel is better than an extended loading screen. But I don't believe that is the case.
  5. That's exactly what dailies feel like now. Unfortunately, even if you only want to PvP, you still must earn enough credits to be able to do important stuff like armor tweaks/upgrades. At least before patch 1.2, PvE progression offered some benefit in PvP, now it's just about the credits to afford the crazy economy.
  6. 1) Game exploits that allowed too many players to acquire massive amounts of $$$, Valor and Gear in a few days. 2) Nothing done by BiioWare/Devs to address the exploiters. 3) Entire game economy and achievement mechanics were warped to fix the wealthy exploiter problem. Being required to spend upwards of 1 million credits to change a set of gear around is just what everyone wants/needs from their MMO experience, in order to justify having to grind dailies for a week or two to cover the costs. 4) Casual players grind a single class, only to have it nerfed so hard in 1.2, as to be unwanted in FP/OPs missions (Merc/Commando Healers). Dual Spec might have helped these casual players better enjoy the game, but respec is nowhere in sight. 5) Right before crafter changes are made to allow crafting of crystals, make all of the future crystals available from a vendor at a relatively cheap price ahead of the crafting patch, thus saturating the market. Don't forget to keep the cost of swapping crystals around extremely high to further suppress demand for the crafted items. 5) BioWare and Devs do not care about subscribers. Our subscription gives us all access to these forums, yet many threads are closed by moderators in an apparent effort to suppress descension. Rather than invest resources in actually addressing subscriber concerns, the BioWare method is to sweep concerns and thus subscripers under the rug and eventually out the door. 6) There is NO Player Retention program. Well there is a survey, those who unsubscribe get to fill out, which apparently is connected to a conveyor belt which leads to a paper shredder. 7) Half of my large Guild has left the game. Many of those who remain only log in to play with friends and are already making plans to leave and are currently trying to decide which alternate game to play. 8) Patch 1.2 was a chance to breath new life into the game. We saw the immediate increase in server populations. Just a few weeks later, server populations have dropped below pre-patch levels. That is all you really need to know about the health of SWTOR. I have unsubscribed. I have 48 days until my subscription and bonus period expires. I post here in the oft chance BioWare comes to it's senses and actually tries to solve problems with the game. However, I don't have great expectations and I have been far more patient than many of my friends. Shame on BioWare screwing up such a great MMO opportunity.
  7. Failing to pay your TAXES, err REPAIR BILL, is an exploit. The repair costs mechanics are there to enhance the gaming experience for subscribers. If you aren't feeling the love from all of the credit sinks in the game then you're just not enjoying the game as intended. So in the words of GZ and the dev team, " **** *** and enjoy the game!".
  8. You must have missed the BioWare/GZ memo which said "success rates are to high, burn the mother down", and burn it they have.
  9. Bt the time they finally get around to addressing the healers debacle, only one left will be Brave Sir Robin, having eaten all of his minstrels. (nothing like a Python reference to help relieve some of the gloom)
  10. There are serious concerns about this game surviving on PC. Probably makes the issue of a MAC client moot. Although it would certainly breath some new life into the game. Maybe a MAC client is part of a future re-introduction of the game.
  11. Honestly, so many aspects of the game mechanics are made to be drudgery, it baffles me. stuff like... - excessive cool down times on quick travel, fleet pass and too few quick travel locations, then the legacy offer for fraction cool down reductions at crazy prices. Frankly, I find it more than a little offensive I should have to PAY for any conveniences which offer being able to navigate the game a little more quickly. - until recently, limited use of speeders - unnecessary transition levels, ship to long docking bay, to space port, to shuttle, to shuttle port, to planet. I mean really? Is someone's nephew getting a royalty every time we're forced to walk down a spaceport tunnel between our ship and the spaceport? Nearest example I can offer for the absolute drudgery is a relationship with a high maintenance significant other. In the beginning, it's all lovey dovey. Then after awhile you start to notice the high maintenance needs of the relationship exerting it's demands over and over and over. At some point you need to take a break and head to Vegas for a weekend alone. When you get back, you feel a little bit of the original spark, but it's not long before the maintenance grind slaps you in the face again. So too is the relationship with SWTOR. Whether it's tedious emersion mechanics by design, or just lazy programming, I constantly find myself waiting to get to playing the game. Starting another alt and story line, all too quickly gives way to the same tedious mechanics and grinding. When they gimped my BH Merc healer in patch 1.2, I thought I'll just roll an alternate class, but then soon thought... OH THE FREAKING JOY!!! I'm sorry, after a little over 4 months of these deliberately tedious mechanics , it's all gotten really, really old. Lately I only come back to spend time with my guild friends. So you are not alone. I don't know the solution. Taking a break didn't work for me when I took a week off to play ME3.
  12. Great idea. Oh wait, guilds are dying. Maybe it's natural guild consolidation. Back to Fleet and running with PUGs I guess. Wait, fleet populations appear to be back at pre 1.2 levels and it's hard to find groups for HM FP/OP missions again. Maybe it's natural server population consolidation. I'm on Swiftsure and it's tough. Can't imagine what it's like on other less populated servers.
  13. Thanks for the correction, the crit is as you said, which is important since the TM is the primary attack mechanic for Arsenal.
  14. Yes I did test, and at considerable expense, but that is another story. I was having a heat problem, when my unbuffed crit was at 22. But when I got that number back up to 30%, my heat management improved. thanks to increased crits helping dump heat. Is the (3x) (18 aim/12 end - augments) better than the 4/4 8 heat rail shot reduction? I think yes but others may disagree. For me the real questions is a (2x) (18 aim/12 end - augments) for the last two Rakata pieces worth losing the 2/2 Tracer Missile/Power Shot 15% crit bonus? Probably not. EDITED for correction.
  15. Agreed, and as you increase AIM which benefits accuracy, you can swap out an accuracy enhancement for power/surge or crit/surge.
  16. I'm starting to believe: AIM as high as possible (currently 2056 with Rakata stim & 2196 with all class buffs) Crit 30% unbuffed & 36+% with all class buffs Surge 75% Accuracy 100% Then work to add as much power as possible (currently 510) This has been working pretty well for me with my 5/31/5 arsenal build.
  17. I and other guild members who ran EV and KP hardmodes the other night felt some of the bosses were much harder and in some cases we hit a rage timer we had not in awhile. We thought they might have retuned the missions. Now it seems they have indeed nerfed some DPS mechanics. Just another example of Devs screwing over players in order to reduce success rates and a reason to remain unsubscribed from the game. It's hard to believe the devs just keep screwing up. Oh well...
  18. I have Torian decked out in Columi and better gear and now an orange/crit tech staff. and 3 pieces of orange crit armor. I'm being patient to find inexpensive orange crit boots/gloves. He has 950 primary max damage, just under 19K HP, 96 accuracy, 22 crit and 70 surge. I'd like to get his crit higher and might do it with future columi commendations/enhancements. I have been off healing him with my Arsenal build with great success. He holds aggro pretty well and is by far the best companion in such a role. Much better way to play than hoping Make can heal me, who is similarly geared for top performance. I tested Skadge, Blizz and Gault back when I was a fresh 50, and Torian worked out best for me in an off healing mode. When running with Bodyguard, I could keep Torian healed AND toss out some DPS, but that usually attracted aggro. I was much better to just keep Torian healed and cap off bosses as they got near death.
  19. Viable, yes. But, make sure you work toward unbuffed crit 30%/surge 75% so your crits do more damage and trigger heat dumps. This can be accomplished a few different ways, but I have done it primarily with swapping in different enhancements and maxing out AIM with purple augments. I currently have (8) 18 aim/12 endurance augments. Three of my RaKata armor pieces have been moved into orange crit gear, giving up the rail shot heat reduction. I'm a full Rakata BH/Merc Arsenal and I do very well. I also do very well running Pyrotech, but a few guild members insist I run arsenal so I do. BH Merc DPS is extremely viable. BH/Merc healing? Not so much. Good luck
  20. I think many of us have moved beyond the denial phase and fully accept the reality the healing classes have been decimated and it won't be fixed. What's the point of continuing to comment here when BioWare is immature and incapable of working with subscribers. They don't even have a program to reach out to those who have unsubscribed from the they game, which means they don't really care. I have zero expectations patch 1.3 will offer any relief and my subscription will not likely last until patch 1.4 and I have zero reason to resubscribe. We have lost half our guild, fewer members want to heal, and most are talking about alternative games.
  21. I leveled my BH/Merc as a healer from the very beginning. Rather than roll another toon, I invested more time building a alternate set of DPS gear for PvE and PvP. I began playing DPS before the patch because we had a few too many healers, and I was having fun playing DPS, but looking forward to Dual Spec so I could run healing and DPS. Now with 1.2 under our belts, it is as others have said, BH/Merc healers are not welcome. Guild members are very polite about it, but they don't want me to heal ... EVER. I have no interest in the grind to properly gear an alternate healer class because of the manner in which my current class was so utterly decimated by patch 1.2. Now we have a new problem. We have lost half our guild and nobody really wants to heal, because they are blamed for PvE wipes and PvP losses. Many of our remaining members are opening discussing a switch to other games and we are a SWTOR dedicated guild. Even our guild founder has only been playing because of friendships rather than being excited about playing the game. It's all pretty sad. What I find even more sad, forum moderators have been suppressing discussions by closing thread after thread, rather than franking discussing the game with subscribers. Very sad indeed.
  22. We have lost half our guild and the remaining members are actively discussing alternative games to play. Nobody wants to heal any more because they get blamed for PvE wipes and PvP losses. All of the StarWars lore that could be holding things together is just to expensive for all but those willing to grind, grind, grind for credits. Almost 1 million credits to swap out a set of gear? Ridiculous, especially when it's clear some gear is not properly optimized for the class. I agree with sentiments regarding GZ. I too will seriously consider avoiding any future game under his oversight. While I too might enjoy experiencing some of the alternate class quest stories, it's not worth $15 a month when the primary game is so busted. I too would appreciate a frank dialog between Devs and healers since my primary toon was a BH/Merc Bodyguard, now playing as a Arsenal or Pyrotech. But I'm sorry to say I think BioWare is too immature a MMO developer to admit their mistakes. Frankly patch 1.2 was probably the final chance to get a boost in server populations and reintroduce the game and they screwed the pooch. Based on announcements for 1.3, I see nothing that excites me. At a minimum I needed Dual Spec to help make my primary toon any fun to play and that will not be included. Oh well, the silver lining, I have met a lot of great people and I look forward to playing with them within whatever game we end up play instead of SWTOR.
  23. RuQu... We have lost half our guild. The many of the remaining members are primarily playing because of our friendships and letting the days tick off our remaining subscriptions. However, we are already discussing alternative games. Such a sad story for a game we all waited for years to be brought to market.
