  1. I would love to see housing come into SWTOR like we had in Galaxies....I spent DAYS decorating my houses, and it gave motivation to master craftsman skills like Architect for example to make your own houses and furniture. It was like a whole other seperate game, just very relaxing and a nice break from the combat, a really immersive facet. Best thing about it was you could drop for example a full set of armour in there and it would stand like a statue, people had full displays of the rarest armour in game. It just integrated beautifully with the game and became like a museum to your achievements, you looted a Krayt Dragon skull....in this game...meh junk sell it, in that game, drop it in your house, instant massive ornament......I could go on for hours. How would this integrate here? Well without a Sandbox environment and a hell of a lot of free-roam added, you wouldn't have the space, I can only see it becoming a reality if they added an instanced area for example for your houses, or if they made Capital style ships to serve as your space, or if they opened up an outer instanced ring on the fleet so we had apartments up there or something. No this isn't Galaxies, it is worlds apart, but there is no reason why they can'y come up with something to satiate this little desire a lot of us have
  2. Well more customization and options for making your appearance look more unique can only be a good thing. Doesn't seem to matter what you wear at the moment...there is always someone running past you on the fleet wearing the same thing....whoever makes it I don't mind, as long as we get it in game that is the most important thing
  3. If what you described makes me a Carebear then so be it! I don't really care that there is a 'name' attached to it, that is my play style and it isn't going to change lol. In honour of my new ttile: http://http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/577/sithbear.jpg/
  4. Fantastic news! The wait is finally over, So glad I pre-ordered now so I will be there on the 9th! Woohoo!
  5. I think this raises some good points. I think if the dev's are trying to reduce server load by narrowing search parameters to be more specific such as the recent debacle with 3 digit minimum search terms etc, then the first area they should look at should be the exclusion of items you already have (as is the case with schematics) or you cannot wear / equip for gender / class reasons. I think you should always have the 'show all' option so you can see those items but by default it should filter them out really. Not only from a resource point of view on the servers, but for a more pleasant shopping experience as we seem to sift through items way too much to get to what we want at the moment. I have to agree though, good post.
  6. So time to go play in the real world until 7PM GMT People lol http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=613961
  7. The official word.... We are continuing to work to bring the servers up as soon as possible. We have no ETA for when the servers will be available again. Thank you for your continued patience And now this was just added... **UPDATE 10:50AM PST (5:50PM GMT): We now expect maintenance to end at 12PM PST (7PM GMT).** Source... http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=613961
  8. I don't think you should have to reveal you intentions with the loot. Why 'Need' or 'Greed'? The very fact they are asking you to select an option that says 'Greed' is just asking for trouble really. I don't really see what the issue is, if someone wants an item, then they roll for it, if they don't they pass...simple. If people are getting out of shape because someone won an item they wanted then they shouldn't go into a group with a group roll for the loot. The very fact you go into a group environment with a group sharing mechanic for the loot means you will win some you will lose some, I don't see why our intentions should be 'labelled' so to speak. Just to qualify it I normally select pass for the majority of items and have only ever selected need for maybe 10 - 20% of all items I have ever come across, I have never selected greed yet.
  9. Yeah I heartily agree with both points raised referring to my post, especially I agree with the fact that gamers with a several Level 50 characters already, may not wish to go through the entire story again. I think this should be at least helped by a full character respec option, be it via the Cartel Market or otherwise. You may want to keep all your 50's in their chosen class and have to start a fresh character, but if you had the option of respeccing your Guardian into a Sentinel without having to go through the full game again for example, it might help at least some people and remove the need for bypassing the game just to level as quickly as possible? Just a thought anyway...
  10. I can't understand why anyone would WANT to power level here. In other 'grind' based MMO's of the past and present, yes I could maybe see some logic, but on this game it is story driven. The story is crafted so it progresses your character through the levels and sees you arrive at the required level for the next planet and so on... Anyone blasting up to level 30 or something before they are finished on Tython has gimped the full game for themselves really. Yes they may be able to walk around killing everything in one shot but that is not for me. I want to level with the story and enjoy the game.
  11. Worked fine for me, left Tattooine level 30, left Alderaan Nearly level 35, didn't do every single side quest either. Going to be depressing when I go back on after work and see it back to the old slower pace roll on the next Double XP Event lol!
  12. Yeah this is silly Bioware, there is an old saying...'if it ain't broke...don't fix it'.... What chance do we have of getting anything to work or be fixed if the things that are working already keep getting broken and taking up developer / programmer time to fix them? This just seems like a silly mistake to be honest, I love this game but please, keep the week 1 trainees away from the servers lol.
  13. Did see a character called Fakin 'El the other day, saying it in a cockney accent helps....hope it doesn't get me deleted for repeating it :/ I thought Streptococcus was funny too lol
  14. A few from me My Shadow back on Alderaan http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/3932/screenshot2013012617454.jpg My Sith Juggernaut looking all Sithy http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/6257/screenshot2013021123300.jpg My Scoundrel looking all Elvis http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/175/screenshot2013022309505.jpg Will post more at a later stage...im a screenshot whore.... have lots lol
  15. Yeah be nice to see the crafting side develop a little, this would be a good start, I like it!
  16. All the best in your future endeavours sir, thanks!
  17. I can never remember the whole speech but there is an odd welsh guy early in the Sith storyline who mentions ergonomic chairs... But one that made me laugh out loud when I heard it for the first time was Corso.. 'Now you're dumb, ugly and dead!'
  18. Well when the new Achievements come in in 2.0 for killing X amount of [inset random mob name]...you will have the Gormak ones in the bag lol....as long as they are retroactive of course
  19. Got to admit I found myself really bored with these missions quickly lol...Always the same kill 20 Imperial Shock Troopers, Kill 40 Imperial Shock Troopers, Click this panel, Kill the Gold Boss......Like someone else said if it wasn't for the fantastic XP bonuses, I would have steered well clear. I have to agree though that it does lack some originality for sure, but I guess it is a balance thing...they expect X amount of XP to be earned in order to make sure you stay within, and indeed keep up with the suggested player / planet levels. Seems logical to assume then that they give these repetitive static bonuses in order to: a) Make sure you can reach the expected level. b) Remove the need for wandering the wilderness grinding random mobs. So yeah can seem tedious but I think it does serve a purpose.
  20. My ticket would be something like: "Do you know how annoying it is to amass my 15 White Lightsaber crystals, 22 Darth Revan Masks and my 18 Lightsaber Hilt 27's only to have them lost by your poor programming?" Sorry bit of fun there. I would definitely follow the advice in the other posts and speak to someone on the helpline, I had no end of problems reporting things with tickets in the past and never really got anywhere with it, like you and others have said they get closed and that's it. I had heard bad reports about telephone support so was dreading it but to be honest ...they were fantastic. The two occasions I have had to call them, they were helpful, knowledgeable and resolved my problem. One was billing, one was and in game glitch that had happened to me. I am not saying all people have such positive results but it worked for me anyway. I hope it works out for you, I know I would be very unhappy if my inventory did a vanishing act. All the best.
  21. I'm intrigued by the 'indoor flyby' question too lol. Really glad I have started a Smuggler now as that is a cool ability! I had to look it up and watch it on YouTube lol
  22. Yeah seems like they sort of put the existing space mode in as an afterthought that they didn't have time to finish as they were focusing on trying to get other areas finished. Seems to me like it has a massive scope for improvement. It is maybe too much to expect the depth and immersion of SWG's Jump To Lightspeed expansion, I knew people who did nothing but spend their entire in-game time in space it was a game all in itself, but please something towards that level of playability!
  23. I always play characters with a Lightsaber personally, but just to enjoy a change of pace I rolled a Smuggler, the story line is brilliant, and had me in fits of laughter at certain points, it is a real fun class to play, and not too shabby either on abilities Consular is great if you wanted a force user, my Main is a Shadow and I love the class and the story line is pretty interesting too.
  24. Yeah you should definitely get something, I mean it is actually a real achievement, and means that you have given BWEA some serious man hours on their game. Seems like they thought "Right well we will put the initial rewards in and add the rest later as nobody will get there straight away" and then....just didn't bother. Seems like they need to get on top of their housekeeping a lot more in this game, too many little bugs and niggles that should have been fixed at Beta, or reacted to much quicker.
  25. I'm glad it wasn't just me that noticed it then lol, I prefer the grey border, rewind please !
