  1. It's not that it's garunteed TO Backfire, it's just that it has the potential TO backfire. Example: Everyone transfers from Republic to Empire because they're 'tired of losing.' There's no garuntee the switch would be smooth.
  2. Just a brief update, not sure if anyone cares - The Corellia Lockbox abuser is still on Corellia. XD I find it amusing, but I really hope they find a way to fix such a thing. I really do think all lockboxes need mobs on them, at the least, but then the issue will become 'if you're powerful enough, your companion could just beat down the mob.' Either way, I think there needs to be a way to reduce the abuse of lockboxes. Longer respawns or more random respawns might be the best.
  3. Have you tried talking to them, or grouping with them and working with them? Or are you standing in a place with high traffic blind inviting everyone that passes by? I've turned 'Automatically Decline Guild Invites' on in my settings. I am a traditional FFXI, and if there's one thing that's a death wish - it's a blind invite. It shows you don't have the decency to talk to me as a human being, that you probably aren't skilled enough to lead the team that we need in order to win or complete content. If it's just that people you're talking to don't want to join, then I'm sorry to hear that. It might be their goals are different from yours (Even if one of those is to play a 'single player MMO'), or that they simply don't like you (I've refused to join guilds for such a reason, across multiple games. I don't care how 'great' your guild is - if I think you're a condescending ***hole, I won't join.) I have yet to find a guild that would work for me. I accepted one invite, and 2 weeks later, left it because I did not like it.
  4. Well, I was going to disagree- but then I realised I already think that you should do exactly what you said. Thank you! It's not an easy burden you bare, but it is an important one. Go with everyone's blessings.
  5. Good, I hate the thread creator, too. D:<
  6. I agree, this thread is the worst thread in the history of time. Do I hate the thread creator, too?
  7. Ok, hold on for a minute before you bust my doors in and stab me with multiple serated knives for implying 'we don't think' in a literal sense. I'm simply referring to the fact that in a large number of topics, I've seen a lot of people say, "EVERYONE wants X!" and "EVERYONE wants Y!", "This class only wants THIS!" or "Bioware, EVERYONE is waiting for Z!" Has anyone else noticed that there's surprisingly very little input from the 'everyone' and it's just a very loud 2-3 people shouting about the fact that this is how 'everyone' feels? Does anyone else wonder what happened to our individual opinion that some guy on the internet appearantly is more entitled to stating my opinion than I am? I guess I would have more input on this, but I haven't seen a topic telling me how 'everyone' thinks about this subject yet. So I guess I'll go over here and just drool on the good carpets for a while.
  8. The lightsaber, from an RP'ers perspective, is an issue. However, can't you just modify your first one with enhancements from new /stronger lightsabers if the issue bothers you that much? in theory, you could have the 'same' lightsaber at 50 as 10. Just new mods. That's the beauty of the mod system.
  9. I agree, this would be a nice feature. Sometimes people want to do flashpoints at the point RIGHT WHEN THEY GET IT, and that just really doesn't work in a lot of group dynamics. Or sometimes we need a class that can CC Humanoids. Either way, it's rough not having a quick / easy way of 'searching' someone. Though you can do /who, then type their name into the Filter at the top to make them the only result, I still feel this is a bit of an annoying way. At the very least, this workaround exists, which is nice.
  10. Social armor would work for you, too
  11. That might be fun! XD I had an interesting time finding one with a friend... took a lot of exploration and platforming to get to it. Loved it. But I grow a little off-subject. v///v There does seem to be a system in place for nodes like this, but none that I've seen for other things like lockboxes.
  12. Already did, with a plethora of other people. That doesn't mean anything will be done, nor does it mean nothing will be done. Ultimately, the best option would be to fix the problem, instead of treating the symptoms. But if the player base can get people like this banned, then it is fine that way as well.
  13. Level restrictions would most likely be: Level 10 lockbox, requires Level 5< Level 20 Lockbox, Requires level 15< and so on and so forth. It puts it so that you can grab it if you're higher level. The issue right now is a level 1 could go to the spot I refer to, and make 25k/hour. Then this same level 1 is able to use a bot because there's no enemies nearby to 'protect' the box.
  14. Did you know, when you target another player, your character's head turns to face them, and watches their moves? When a bot does this, it's different from a player maybe accidentally 'misclicking' the spot a player is standing and targetting them. You're able ti discover where the click-spam is, and can stand there to block their clicker so they can't click the chest. They will just stare at you, instead. You can even use your pet for this, and they will target and stare at the pet. Dismiss the companion, and they go back to looking forward. Resummon companion, and run them to the same spot as before, and the guy - oddly - goes back to targetting him again. It's not the action of 'farming a spot' that is the issue. It's the blatently obvious abuse of an auto-click program, that is easily exposed and easily combated if you are actively there, that is the issue. But a bot has infinite time - I do not. It's easy to spot a bot... because they will show some of what I described above, while not moving a spot for over 1-2 hours. If I had a republic high enough, I would have run him over just to slaughter the bot.
  15. The second half would work well. It's what is currently done with Slicing nodes - they are giving one of 3-5 spots to spawn at, and are on a timer for each one. So what you get is a pretty easily-spotted cycle of Slicing nodes that can't really be 'camped' since they will pop around. As for the arguement that 'someone won't do it because they'd get banned', that is the logical response to a fear-based punishment system, but in reality, people will do it because they believe they can get away with it. I have no garuntee that even reporting this bot, anything will happen. and who's to say he will turn around and sell the credits? He might be doing it for himself, but that still doesn't make it right.
  16. It's finally happened on my server (Daragon Trail) - Botters have started to appear at Lockboxes. Using a Click-bot program, botters are able to AFK at a spot, and constantly loot lockboxes that yield 3k/7minutes. This means that while AFK, they are able to make ~25k, + items to sell for 1k each. It may not seem like much, but remember they are doing -NOTHING- to make this. The only way to prevent this is to make it so that we have Guards on all the lockboxes. Aggressive to both Republic and Empire, they would prevent botters from being able to afk - unless their companions could solo it, at which point it'd be a 'screwed either way' sort of situation. I wish we could actually talk to GM's when we see such abusers.
  17. Don't try to speak for all Mass Effect fans. Some of us actually care about seeing the series continue to grow beyond a narrow perspective. Squad-based gameplay WITH FRIENDS (startled gasp!) is going to be AWESOME. Period.
  18. You speak of fairness, but no one's actually asking for the armor to be Armor-type specific. They just want all the current armor sets (And any future sets) to come in 3 different types - Light, Medium, and Heavy. Ultimately, the above suggested is the 'most fair', because it allows -everyone- to be capable of wearing it if they like the looks of it enough. It also gives a bonus to those who have their Social leveled (I myself am at Social level 4 on my 35 BH. I've pretty much played in a duo the entire game.) So tell me, if you want to speak of fairness, which is more fair? The fact that light-armor users can use Social armor in battle but say, a Heavy tank-user can't? Or the concept that there should be 3 different armor types that look the same but have different 'armor strengths' so people can tank in different sets?
  19. It would be an easy fix, and I'm slightly surprised it isn't already done/wasn't done earlier. Though it's not as pressing an issue as bug's, it sounds glaringly obvious this would favore light-armor users.
  20. My friend and I constantly level as a Duo. We love the game, and play maybe 1-3 hours a night on weekdays (if we're lucky and time allows, won't be the same during college courses + work), or hell... we've played for 12 hours on weekends, and the best we did is hit 34 so far on our 'mains' of 5-7 different characters we have. We are eating up the game, but we also bounce off the game every once in a while to play Hoard, Post Apocolyptic Mayhem, Or other games we have. It's about finding a healthy balance between your Gaming, your real life, your personal life... and within each one, having a healthy balance there. If all you do all day is grind away on SWTOR with only Work/School to change things up a bit, it's going to start to feel more like a second job, and like you said, make you feel burned out. I think I agree with the poster 100%. I've had bugs that drive me MAD, but when I get too stressed by it, I look at my partner and say "Let's go burn a village in Hoard", or "Let's go get our faces eaten off in resident evil 5 / Dead rising 2." Right now, I work from 8:30 AM-3:00 or 5:00 PM weekdays. When I get home, I workout for an hour or two, and then I meet up with my partner. We don't advance as fast, because I don't log in obsessively, but we have fun and the game is MORE THAN WORTH IT to us. When we hit endgame, we will most likely level alts. because we have our balance and fun. This won't work for everyone, and I do hope BioWare is able to add more content that makes end-game players happy... but as far as a casual gamer perspective goes, we're happy. Signed: The guy that bought 2 copies of the game, and was so happy with 'em, he upgraded to the Delux edition. We're happy with the purchase!
  21. ...Can I be a cabana boy? I used body type 1 Chiss Bounty Hunter (light), Body type 3 Sith Warrior (Dark), and Body type 2 Operative (dark), and Body type 1 Twi'lek Inquisitor (light). :3
  22. Except one of my references was Taris. Thats' a level 30+ zone that I'm seeing the issue in. I'm not trying to be confrontational, because I agree Dromund Kass is just... a pain. I just don't really get why it seems consistent even as you get higher. =/
  23. I agree with this. x3 I'll try to help where I can, but often times it's very easy to get caught up in what the individual needs. However, I will add, that I've never left someone who's part of my party behind - especially in case of a glitch (Had this issue a night ago. Had to do a boss fight 1 man down for a quest because the one other guy ducked out.) This kinda guy reminds me of FFXI, where people were -forced- to help eachother. It was a really good community bond, though I have to say, I wouldn't trade SW:TOR for FFXI any day under the sun. I just love this game too much.
  24. Yea, I see what you mean. I never said it was going to stop me, but I did make mention of it, and rather than giving productive responses, it seems a few select trolls will speak louder than the positive community. It will probably affect others, however.
  25. Well, I suppose I'll make a brief post about my feelings on this. As I play, I like to socialize with others - wheather in Guild or in General. As of late, however, the General chats of SW:TOR has been seeming to quickly degrade. Prime Example: Level 34 Bounty Hunter on Taris. One person makes a comment about someone stealing a container, and instantly, instead of anyone seeming to give a sympathetic or other response, it's more about 'oh QQ more, someone ninja'd your chest, that's never happened in an MMO before!', sarcastic/crude responses that don't seem to do anything to make the person feel better. It would be a little wonder if some people didn't quit due to such a harsh and abrasive community. Another example: Don't remember the planet, but we had a level 50 and 3 level 30's chasing people around a prime Imperial questing area. When people would call it out, the people in unaffected areas would call 'Learn to PVP' or other such un-helpful things. Last Example: If anything bad is said, ever, that person is insulted as an individual rather than other's giving a decent counter-arguement. Perhaps this is just more of a fanboyish response, or perhaps no one wants to hear negatives due to the subjective nature, but I really do hope people learn to ease off and see both the good and the bad of the game, regardless of what camp they are in. Not only that, sometimes it's a comment of gameplay - and comments of "L2P" do not really help anyone. =/ I suppose what I'm worried most at this point about is, how fast the general chat seems to be degrading. At the very start, at launch, everything seemed really good. But that was in the starter area, so perhaps everyone has a more positive outlook due to New Game smell. Anyways, anyone with any ideas on what's going on? Is it just the community, the server, or the people?
