  1. This happens all of the time and people do not necessarily loose their jobs or get fired. If you follow the 80-20 rule you will be much happier in life. Brain surgeon's most feared words...."oops"/
  2. I send my companions out on many missions. Most missions are yellow with the occasional 340 mission. I am finding a greater complete failure rate and far fewer returns of quality materials. I run diplomacy, slicing, and underworld trading missions. All of my companions are max affection. I have three 50's, and two 40's. I am finding the 40's almost always return little in value and my 50's companions return at a much reduced rate compared to a week ago. I consider radio active paste, neural augmentors, mando iron, and 340 mission returns to be success, but I am also have far more missions returned without any materials returned. Am I just have several days of bad luck? Did BW change the algorithm? I thought the patch said regular missions were to return more materials and not less? In the end it makes no difference to me as I will simply adjust my prices, but if it is just a fluke of luck I will absorb the loss.
  3. I like collecting pets and speeders....I have no idea why really, but I find it a pain to change up what I have to show off my collection. I would like two new abilities. One that randomly selects pets with the ability allowing which pets to put into the random pool I would like the same type of ability for speeders, but along with selecting which speeders are in the pool I would like to be able to select which speed of speeder will be randomized. Also, make a new craft ability that makes it possible to upgrade the speed of a speeder from base to 110% you may also think about a turbo charger to allow something like 115% for the show offs. This could require gathering mats from multiple crew skills, a craft that makes a part of the final product, and a craft that takes the pieces to make the actual final product. The process should be rather difficult and the final product fairly expensive. I would like some of my slow speeders, like the one from this past event to be able to keep up with the pack because I think they are cool.
  4. I hope you guys read this because I think it would be a huge breakthrough for SWTOR, and I don't know if any other MMO does this. We all have unique legacy names per server now that connect us to every character we make on that server no matter the character's faction. Use this name as the user identifier on the server so that a guild could invite the legacy name to the guild and then see if a user is online no matter what alt they are playing. Guild rosters would no longer be clogged with character alts. There would be no more shouts in gchat checking to see if mekan is on in any form. You would also allow tells to go to legacy names which would filter to whichever character associated with that legacy name happened to be online to get the tell. You could friend a legacy name and see if your buddy was on any of their toons instead of having a billion names in your friends tab that you forget what toon belongs to what user. Made items should be legacy name tagged and GTN should show legacy plus character names. I person should have the ability to be on the server where they do not display as online if they want to for private time or whatever reason they wish. Legacy names should be searchable in a /who and be displayed when looking at who is on world etc. I don't code and have no idea how difficult this would be to implement, but I think it would add great functionality and more meaning to the concept of Legacy. On a side note, it would be great if I could see other people's legacy relationships, and bios if we could have a mini bio blog per character to tell a story of how the character fits into the user's legacy. A mini legacy blog would also be nice to have a mini story of what is going on with one's legacy as a whole. Well there it is. I think it would be a fabulous improvement and unique in the MMO world.
  5. I have noticed a disturbing issue and don't know if it is just me or not. So if you could tell me your experience or if you know how to fix it let me know. Not often but frequently I will target a new bad guy and click my grav. I hear the sound of the grav going off but see no graphic, no damage numbers flying off the bad guy, and no movement on the bad guys health bar. My global cool down is activated. This happens even when I make certain that there is no movement, no clicking on other abilities and my cool down was clear. Any advice would be appreciated as sometimes every second counts.
  6. These are some great replies. I love the idea of making addons for an armor set
  7. Ok, I know crafting is what it is, and crafting in SWTOR is what it is. I enjoy the faux making stuff. This is why I don't simply gather. But, as an armormech I am bored. As I see it the summit is the two Rakatta pieces. Well I did that long ago and worked to crit aug them both. Now there is nothing to do and I am thinking about dropping it to just gather. So, one thing BW could do to fix this for me. I know they are reading every word here . For armor, arms, and synth give us a ton of unique looking orange armor...or better yet give them another color rating. Heck if you could just make jedi clothes that don't look stupid would be a win. For cyber and artifice make the new crafted gear from above have a special slot that can only be filled by cybertech crated items.2. There should also be unique looking mounts and hilts(that take augment?) This would not take away from the need to keep ops and pvp gear valuable and worth the grind and still give crafters something to do. I am not even talking about making a profit here, just adding to the game through personal effort for the joy of it.
  8. I was getting many crits until yesterday. I am pushing to build augs so I am running three toons slicing missions. Two of the toons have companion affection maxed. Well yesterday moving from character to character to run slicing missions I go the big fat nada. Bad string of luck? Am I doing something wrong? Has something changed? I think it is a Sith conspiracy.
  9. I originally signed up for a 6 month plan. Three months into that plan I removed the recurring purchase option because I did not know where SWTOR was going. Our server was dying, and with the other issues added into the mix the game while fun was not really worth 15 bucks a month to me. Well, there are still issues, but after the server merge the game is once again fun for me. Today I put recurring payment active for my account and will give SWTOR another 6 months. May those months be fun and SWTOR continue to improve.
  10. Very much appreciated. So reading this I came up with: Accuracy = 104% - but this really pertains to weapons in main and offhand. With only a main weapon 100% is good.....is that how you read that? Crit = 30% unbuffed Surge = Cricical Multiplier 70% Power = As much as possible after the first three Alacrity= Just say no
  11. So I still need three pieces to fill out my commando Rakata and have not yet gotten anything but a campaign relic. Everything is augmented. What should my overall damage numbers read at this point? I am worried about my bonus damage which is at 522. My current crit % is 36 something..... My toon is strictly PVE and is looking to bust the best sustained DPS possible.
  12. I have not PVP'd with my gunny since 1.2.. I don't see how things could have changed that much for us in WZ. I thought my gunny would be useless in OPS as well, but have been proven wrong. At this point I am building a PVP toon, not quite sure what class that will be yet, and I am parking my 74 valor gunny and using him only for PVE OPS and dailies. It is sad because I love the toon. Let me know when the situation changes.
  13. I think I can understand it as a defensive measure. Many people throw a great deal of time and emotion into an MMO often building a large friend list. I don't thinks these folks bounce from title to title, or at least play mostly on their 'main' game and sample the others. Now, if your game world is invested completely in a MMO like WoW would you want to see it diminish or disappear to SWTOR? They would lose friends, character prestige, bragging rights, and be forced to start over. People are always afraid of change.
  14. That depends on many factors. The biggest one is how diluted the pool of shares is. It could be that Bilizzard split 10 times...
  15. The world economy comes into play a bit, but there is much more to it. SWTOR was a big hype machine that did not live up to itself. With this came a great deal of animosity directed at EA and Origin. I find that stocks run in emotional waves. $25 was obviously inflated and there was a correction. It will stabilize at some point and begin to grow again. If anyone bought stock at +$18 because of one title in EA's portfolio they deserve to have lost their butts in the market. Just like the people that paid +$30 for facebook.
  16. Changes have little affect in my opinion. Gunny is still a PVE ranged DPS toon and a PVP walking casket. For those that still enjoy commando PVP...I say you destruction at the hands of my Vanguard tastes bitter sweet.
  17. Will the community ridicule those that buy their fluff items? I know I look down my nose at such things, but would not say anything in chat....maybe to a bud. If game changing items are sold I am done...homey don't play that way.
  18. Probably has been said a thousand times before, but here it is again. In a game that encourages the building of alts through the invention of the legacy system there needs to be many more character slots available per server, or legacy bonuses etc need to apply cross server by account. I have done what I can with my main and have been running alts for the past couple of months. My server slots are full with republic alts as I have 2 for each class, one for each advanced class. I am now about to start on my imp alts, but am out of room. If we did not have the legacy system or the ability to transfer credits/gear cross faction it would not be a big deal to roll a new character on a different server, but this is not the case with this game. Are there ramifications of doubling character slots per server that I am not aware of at this time?
  19. azhrione, I am glad that you are having fun, and that you are successful on your server in your WZ.. That said, I do disagree with you from a commando DPS perspective. Our survive ability does not exist. Once you are targeted and engaged there is little you can do. Prior to 1.2 we were not that great, and after 1.2 we simply are not good.. Many more agree with me here I think than they do with you. I could be wrong. I could simply just suck, but I don't think this is the case. My alts all do very well in PVP.
  20. Commando -Male body type 3----very cool Vanguard-Female body type 1---very cool
  21. I am pretty sure that the BW employees that were let go were the commando playing developers wanting to fix the class. Commando...stick to PVE... Glowstick...kinds of PVP
  22. If you find yourself in a PVP wz and not kicked from the game you are ranged DPS turret.. Stand at the edge of the fray in a position that limits the opponent's ability to LOS your shots, blast until you die. Think of death as part of your strategy in playing the WZ as you will not survive any encounters.. The bottom line is the commando is not suited for PVP at this time.
  23. I am talking about MMORPG, adventure and solo RPG games here. I see publishing houses playing things conservatively, and going with genre and themes that have payed off in the past. Today we see a great deal of elves and orcs with very little in the way of laser guns and star ships. Excluding the FPS I see EVE, SWG, SWTOR, and ME as the more successful franchises in the recent past of Star Wars/future tech type of video games. I am sure there are more, and if you know of great ones please list them. So, wihat do you think the state of SWTOR means for furutre Star Wars/future tech games?
  24. VO is good for the game. VO for every quest in the game is a waste and monotonous. Quality of VO actors is important. Playing DIablo III is making me appreciate the SWTOR VO work.
