Glad we have the contingent of people who want healers to be useless in PvP on board. Trust me, if they made it so people without a clue (potentially you) could kill healers people with a clue would have absolutely no problem destroying healers without any help.
-
Sorcs/Sages are fine, you're not doing it right if you can't kill them.

I like how this thread has no justification, just a guy posting "BOYCOTT BOYCOTT" sandwiched between people discussing the root problem. I'm Imperial, by the way. I can post wherever Bioware allows me, and this would be one of those areas. If I was a betting man, I'd say your post was made in an attempt to troll the board's populace.

The story based gameplay is flawed and might kill the game.

Are we still pretending that only people who spend all day every day playing non-stop have a level 50? Is everyone supposed to be level 30, and that's why they released new endgame content recently? Quit it. -
Would you go as far as to say it's a SLAP IN THE FACE???

You would rather that Bioware implement all these tools because you know they'll never get to it in a timely fashion. Personally, if I was Bioware I'd be embarrassed that a bunch of nerds in their basements could design parts of the UI better than I could. That really goes for other developers as well (hi Bethesda).

Group Mission Queue (Dungeon Finder) Pane Concept

This looks good, I approve. The lack of automatic matchmaking makes it a workable solution. Have all my stars. -
Combat Logs are coming! Damage meters & analysis soon to follow!

Difficulty levels exist for this reason. Normal level operations are pretty damn simple. -
Is the single player experience really that great?
Excedrin replied to Superawesomerman's topic in General Discussion
I mean it's objectively better written in many places than TOR is. Take this little gem right here, and it's even just a silly side conversation that you hear - That's just one side bit and I haven't seen anything in TOR as of yet that is that well written. There's even better dialogue in the cutscenes, and Shephard is very vocal throughout the game. You can say you still find it to all be crappy (we can't all have good taste ) but to say that TOR has better dialogue or more enjoyable companions seems like a huge stretch. I just don't see how anyone could realistically say that. -
Thanks for the update, but where's the Combat Log
Excedrin replied to Zeppelin's topic in General Discussion
Look, you may absolutely hate it but they said they're doing it (more than once even). If that so infuriates you that's your problem, and maybe you should leave. -
Competitive Comparisons - PvP vs PvE - Combat Logs
Excedrin replied to Lethality's topic in General Discussion
You should probably do some reading up, this isn't how they feel at all. In fact, they specifically said they DON'T feel this way. Maybe they're lying, but I'm willing to take them at their word. -
The Belief Disconfirmation Paradigm..Understanding the Haters
Excedrin replied to mr_chuckles's topic in General Discussion
No, you all label people who criticize the game as "haters" without addressing their points. Then, when called on it, this same group of people shrinks back innocently and says "but this poster is different! I really AM fine with criticism!" But I guess everyone, every single one of these posts is always just "hating" and not criticizing, giving people what they see as a clever out from their problem of being blindly loyal and hating everything that challenges that. How incredibly improbable. They're the same group. That you insist they are not does not make it so. I would also like to add that if you have something intelligent to add I'd love to see it, but trust me when I say I'm really not holding my breath. -

False. -
Random Number Generator, basically that the potential for a given piece of loot to drop is determined by probability.

How people can't understand this is beyond me. When people stop making posts asking for features/fixes/developer input, you should start being worried about how healthy your game is. -
Heh, you think valor is a reflection of skill and not just a grind.
-
Ding ding ding. These people will never understand this because when the problem presents itself they'll simply demand that Bioware force other players to play with them or suffer consequences. That's why even an updated LFG system with effective categorization and more room for information isn't enough. It's all about removing the choice aspect because many players realize they aren't the first choice. Well it's bullcrud. If you want people to play with you make nice and play effectively. People will actually start to ask you to do stuff rather than you having to seek out other people. Players that are more likeable and more effective actually SHOULD have an easier time finding a group than someone who is not. If you're in favor of an updated LFG tool that grants players greater freedom and doesn't force people into the Fleet then I concur. If you're saying that whatever tool is implemented must have matchmaking, I cannot help but be extremely skeptical.

Is it me or are there a LOT of Sith Sorcerers out there?
Excedrin replied to Renroval's topic in General Discussion
Yes, they should make the damage on Project instant or add a travel time for Shock. I don't think you'll find anyone who disagrees with that. However, the increasingly common portrayal of Sages as poor and pathetic and SIS as overpowered gods just isn't true. -

How many times do people need to say that sorc nukes are energy damage for people to fully understand it and stop posting stuff like the above? -

Excedrin replied to Renroval's topic in General Discussion
Maybe I liked battle rez and, while intending to play a sage originally, went Empire instead to play with people I wanted to play with. No you're right, that's crazy. Everyone rolled SIS for the highly juvenile reasons you listed. Everyone. -
How and Why the PVP (Valor) System Works And Why I've Unsubbed
Excedrin replied to protoflorian's topic in PvP
I haven't hit Valor Rank 60 - I'm at a relatively modest rank 39. I don't spend my time in game mindlessly farming valor all the time so I can feel accomplished, but I still feel like it diminishes the value of my valor rank when people very quickly obtained many, many valor ranks. I still think it would be a good thing for them to do a quick rollback on valor, but I'm not at the point where I'd unsub over it. I take issue with your categorization. I simply think that the benefits outweigh the potential negatives. Yes, they were just playing the game but Bioware has admitted this was not as intended and they most likely have the ability to fix the problem without resorting to the ban hammer. If you come back to this thread and respond to my post I just ask that you try to avoid the constant ad hominem. It doesn't really help. -
How and Why the PVP (Valor) System Works And Why I've Unsubbed
Excedrin replied to protoflorian's topic in PvP
Please stop derailing the thread by playing backseat mod, if they want to move it to the PvP forums they will do so and it will be fine. If they don't want to move it to the PvP forums they won't and it will still be fine. This is an honest plea. -

This is a very good post. There's nothing else to be said, I'd love to see a developer respond to this.
