  1. So DOTs no longer prevent capping in WZs. I always thought our utility was somewhat limited in WZs but this means we bring even less to the table. In Huttball other than DPS there is not much we can do except for a well timed jetboost. Now in voidstar and civil war we can no longer DOT cappers to defend turrets or doors. Thoughts?
  2. BM thanks for the response. I am not sure if I am asking the question right. G4-BC is in debuff post fire dump. Then he enters a defensive buff state. 1 then 2 then 3 etc. all the way to 10. Assuming 3 clickers at what point do we stop DPSing and go back for another fire dump. At 1 on G4-BC's defensive buff? At 5? Is their an optimal point or do we do it the moment the debuff wears off?
  3. Question in regards to the debuff and when to move to resequence for another fire dump. We dump fire, clickers move to add DPS, debuff ends and the droids defense starts piling up 1.. 2 etc. What is the optimal point to disengage and go back to clicking for another fire dump?
  4. As my primary concern is PVP I think the optimal PVP setup will end up being BM gear with a heavy dose of Rakata mods with the idea of trying to approach soft caps on surge and crit while maximizing power. One day I will sit down and crunch the numbers but for now yeah a mix of PVP and PVE gear seems more effective then straight PVP or straight PVE.
  5. Why no love for Degauss. As mobility is the key to pyro survivability I am surprised more people don't use this. Works great for me in ilum getting in and out of Rep lines. Seems like no one is putting points in it. I am curious as to why. Maybe I am missing something.
  6. Fair enough about not you in the video, my apologies. To bad the dude doing the video is way to annoying to listen to so I have no idea what points he actually makes. If it is a FACT it can be proved. SO prove it....
  7. Nice start until you got to the point of defending sage/sorcerer by saying 'people effing suck'. 'People suck' is not a reason why your class is balanced lol. Then you said 'not to sound egotistical' ROFL. We all know that when someone prefaces something with 'not to sound egotistical' the next think they spew will most certainly be egotistical. Anyhow, I think you probably know a lot about the class and can probably talk about it's weaknesses but your delivery was an absolute FAIL. Try it again without the people suck and don't know how to play and I am great routine and I might make it through the first few minutes.
  8. Comparing the extreme high and low possibilities of valor and comms proves nothing. What is the average valor/comms earned in a WZ lasting 5 min vs one lasting 15 where one team is farming? My intuition and experience tells me that farming is a waste of every ones time.
  9. I am an imp and I have never waited more than 2-3 min for a WZ queued up solo and never more that 4-5 min queued up in a group of 4. So if you do it on my server you = stupid (at least at peak hours when I play).
  10. Yep. People who farm medals for valor actually show their stupidity because as you point out it is more efficient to win and queue up for another WZ. This is the only time when I will consider quitting a WZ. I don't like having my time wasted. Especially by people to stupid to realize they are wasting their own time as well:rolleyes:
  11. That makes sense. I think the order is somewhat situational. I can see how your rotation could work better in situations. For example when you catch an SI posting up on a upper walkway in Huttball. Sneak in some damage and then burst with some DOTs working in case they run. On the other hand in Ilum where there is a mass of players weaving back and forth I use almost exclusively use IM > TD > RS because that usually all I have time to use. Likewise in Voidstar where is lots of damage being thrown down and not a lot of places to run I use IM > TD > RS > Unload/PS and hopefully RS again. So I guess the rotation is somewhat situational.
  12. Question why powershot + powershot before rail shot? Rail shot it the heavy hitter and we want to use it as often as possible to max damage. Why not railshot then unload or powershot to see if you can get a free railshot?
  13. What while I do well in overall damage in WZs I have never ever seen a 5K damage medal. How is your spec set up and what rotation are you using to get the 5K.
  14. LOL yep. The L2P argument is based on the assumption that the classes were and are perfectly balanced. This assumes BW made no mistakes in balancing 24 class trees and and 300 to 400 hundred abilities. BW knew that this was impossible and before the game even launched they told us that they would be looking at metrics etc. and address class balancing issues. So the BW that could not make something as simple as winning WZs count can get something as incredibly complex as class balancing right on the first go? That is what the L2P people imply. Of course, I do not actually think they believe their own argument but more likely they just like the game (specifically their class) in it's current state and don't want to see changes.
  15. IMO the WZ medals should be awarded for WZ goals. Scoring and passes in huttball, planting a bomb on a door in voidstar, capping a turret in Alderaan and things like that. The medal format is currently very individualistic and motivates certain people to treat WZs like death matches. How about some team medals for finishing huttball in under 7 1/2 minutes or winning by over 100 in Alderaan. I would just like to see the medal awards geared to team play and achieving goals.
  16. This is the only time I will quit. When the other team is doing this they are wasting EVERYONES time (it is more efficient for them to T up another WZ). As long as my team is still trying and the other team is still trying to win and not farming medals I will stick it out.
  17. Make the daily 9 pts. You get 3 pts for a win and 1 pt for a loss. Anyone who leaves the WZ early for any circumstances is on a 15 minute lockout before they can enter another WZ. Those who quit get a very small punishment and those who stay through a losing match get at least a small reward. This type of setup seems fair and pretty easy to implement.
  18. This seems to happen a lot in the Alderan WZ for some reason. Twice in a row last night we played against a minimum of 12 Reps in the WZ. It was like the Three Amigos movie. They were literally every where lol. Go center 6 Reps, zerg right 6 Reps meanwhile left is calling for help. I had to laugh TBH. But yeah this needs to be fixed.
  19. Good points. As a merc, if I get in a match with a bunch of mercs and ops on my team I usually assume we will lose. If I ended up with a bunch of sorc and/or juggies on our team I have a lot more confidence that we can win. I don't think there is any disputing that some classes bring a lot more to the table when playing huttball.
  20. Well I think Reps tend to struggle with huttball because they line up against Imps who play huttball 2/3 of every WZ. So Imps just get a lot more practice at it.

    talkin to enemy

Uh, really. For example, I want to have group PVP at a specific location on Tat because I think it would be cool. How do you do that without organizing with the other faction genius? I am not talking about kill trading in fact I am talking about the exact opposite. Having some interesting PVP off the lag fest that is Ilum. Also does /say work when you are a corpse? Or if you happen to be on different worlds than the other faction that you want to communicate with? Hey buddy I pay my $$$ per month to play just like you do yours. Don't even think about trying to tell me how to play the game:rolleyes:

    talkin to enemy

Not being able to talk to the other faction takes away something from the game. It makes it harder to organize PVP in non-traditional areas. BW is evidently worried about flaming etc. between enemy combatants. As an Imp I actually ended up PVPing against other Imps more than anything else and I don't have any problems with 'hate' whispers. I had a great one on one fight in ilum the other night against a jedi. It was back and forth and he put me down with a sliver of health left. 1/2 second later my TD went off and dead jedi. Would have loved to send him a 'good fight' whisper while both of lay there dead.
  23. Ha! You are assuming that those loses would actually COUNT!
