  1. 2016 has been hard on Star Wars. First Admiral Ackbar, then R2-D2, now Princess Leia. Devastating.
  2. Wow. Just picking my jaw up off the floor. I guess they finally have came out and said it, that the uncustomizable companions that have appeared since the launch of KOTFE, was not a fluke, but rather an intended design decision. I speculated that was the case, even as BW remained firmly entrenched and silent on the issue, but apparently it's ok to let the dogs out now. Woof Woof. Proof positive ladies and gentleman, that they don't care what we think. They don't care what we say. They don't listen to requests for product improvements and they circular file all feedback. Choices matter they say. Well, they made their choice, and clearly it matters. Now the question is, will their choice to be lazy (or conversely not to be lazy, but rather to restrict) will affect their bottom line. Now that I know we will never get to build the look for anyone new, I have no more use for the Cartel Market. Armors, which are the foundation of the Cartel packs, are no longer needed by me. My personal looks are set, and are very unlikely to change, and since I can't control the looks of who tags along with me, I have no reason to spend. Thanks for making the choice easy for me Bioware! My wallet thanks you immensely.
  3. It's not a Lightsaber whip. It's a Zingaran Slaver's Whip, as seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Here
  4. That set is Imperial Trooper Armor. It already exists as an exclusive for Collector's Edition owners, such as myself.
  5. I really need an Ugnaught, who I can roll as an Assassin, thereby fulfilling the deranged rantings of that crazy man on the Big Boom Run on Ord Mantell. I'd also roll a Rodian, a Weequay and a Mon Cala. If they ever give them to us. Which I doubt.
  6. If Bio-Mal-ware continues to give it's loyal customers a gigantic middle finger at every turn, I'd say no more than a year. This game is at the point of needing server merges (AGAIN) and yet Bioware still doesn't value it's customers. If it weren't so ridiculous, I'd say they are purposely trying to tank this game...
  7. The monetization has been especially strong with this one as of late. Looking at the contents of the new box, the majority of it is reskins and recolors, or outfits assembled from existing parts. Most of the mounts are rehashes too. And the color crystal isn't particularly inspiring. I'm really at a loss for words on this game right now. Games like STO, sure you have to pay money for the good stuff. New ships and what not, and they have their lockboxes too. But they actively put into their game as well. Even when they do a leveling event (last year's Delta Recruit, this year's Temporal Agent) at least they give a bit of content to go with it, and they give some pretty outstanding rewards not only to your new character, but they give stuff to your old characters too. I just can't fathom why they seem to be shoving this game into maintenance mode, when Star Wars as a consumer product is more popular than it's been in years.
  8. Bioware is taking the summer off. Basically, in order to have their vacation, they needed something to keep us chumps busy. So, they have asked that we start the game over, completely, from scratch, until they get back from vacation. Enjoy! PS - They might send us a post card from Oahu, if they can drag themselves away from the beach.
  9. They increased the price of Hypercrates? After looking at the contents of this box on Dulfy (and being anything but impressed) the idea of raising the price, for a bunch of reskins and recolors...is laughable to say the least. I'll be honest, the only thing keeping me here at the moment is that it's not July 6th yet. Once STO's next expansion drops, and I can have a TOS themed adventure, I'll be out for much of the summer, and the girlfriend has been talking alot lately about a return trip to World of Unknowwhat, so if she prevails (and let's be honest, usually what the girlfriend wants, the girlfriend gets, am I right guys?) well I'll be letting the sub lapse, and I'm not sure if I'll be back or not.
  10. The Kelborn Legacy Ro-lan Kelborn: Mandalorian clansman of Clan Kelborn. Yates Ironstar: An homage to Rowdy Yates of "Rawhide." Apprentice Äcastus: An homage to the most evil villain of "Stargate: Atlantis", Acaustus Kolya. Jedi Master Dalen Tohr: Just made it up. Padawan Gar-wan Tohr: Son of Dalen Tohr. Agent Titus Cordd: Just made it up.
  11. You guys and you theories... I'm very much looking forward to the end of this chapter and what it means for our intrepid heroes (and villains!)
  12. The GF and I moved off Bastion to Harbinger this weekend. It was a ghost town over there. The GTN economy was a joke, either nothing sold or there was nothing to buy unless you had millions and millions of EC to spend. After just two days we knew we had made the right decision. Added bonus, we get to take a trip around the block once again, with all new characters.
  13. This is my favorite chapter thus far. - It was fun. Lots of humor, lots of jokes, and it was very light hearted. - Maybe it was just me, but it feels like Vette's personality has changed a bit, and she wasn't nearly as annoying to me. - Gault and Hylo are great. Although I wish we could have run with Hylo. Granted, I know why we couldn't, but still... - The action was good. - The new location was awesome! - It wasn't a slog. Yes, there was plenty of fighting, but not nearly the slog that Chapter 10 or 12 are. - Felt good to be doing something "normal" again, rather than being the Outlander, or having the spectre of Valkorian hanging over everything. It was a nice change of pace in terms of story. - It was awesome to get Gault and Vette out of it all. They will be great fits for many of my characters. Overall, I can't rate this chapter anything but a 10, because it's my favorite thus far.
  14. I was a little less than impressed that we were forced to accept Kaliyo back, and had no option to take her out, after her betrayal 5-6 years before. I was under the impression (from Bioware) before KotFE launched, that we wouldn't have to take back people we didn't like, or would have the opportunity to take out those who had done us wrong in the past. If I am forced to accept Skadge or Quinn, I will NOT be pleased. I might be able to forgive Kaliyo a little bit, but in my mind, Quinn should have died on the spot for his betrayal, and Skadge threatened my life back on Belsavis, I would have never let that stand, and certainly wouldn't welcome that walking turd back into the fold, even if he was the only one that could insure the fall of Arcann! Time for our decisions to start mattering Bioware. Stop forcing people on us, especially the ones we hate the most!
  15. Some aging options would be nice. From a canon perspective, it really only makes sense if one of our characters is the Outlander. It would be nice to be able to age our other characters with a variety of time specific aging methods (5 years, 10 years, 20 years) using methods like wrinkles, hairstyles with some graying added at the fringes, etc.
  16. Some great ideas, and I would add: Barracks Pack - Military / Trooper themed decor, which is great for Troopers, Agents, and anyone decorating their base as an Alliance outpost. Mercenary / Scoundrel Pack - Some Smuggler / Hunter themed decor, with a focus on contraband containers, variety of carbonite freeze decorations, civillian themed weapons and ammo canisters and racks, etc. Outcast Pack - Decor with an outcast type theme or focus, likely geared towards Force users, which could contain some Jedi and Sith themed decor, in the same pack.
  17. Dang, I suppose I should have put that in spoiler tags too. As big as the movie is shaping up to be, it's hard to imagine anyone not having seen that trailer yet!
  18. /signed There are only two locations I really want to see for remaining Strongholds. 1. Manaan (very top of the list) - An excellent neutral location that would be wonderful for just about anyone, be it Troopers or Sith Lords. This should have been the location, instead of Yavin, which is very Force user focused. 2. Hoth - The only other truly iconic location in all the galaxy. We got Tatooine. And it is truly wonderful to have a stronghold there. We really need Hoth to complete the set. And like Manaan, it's a very neutral location / environment that would make a great stronghold for anyone from Smugglers to Imperial Agents. But Manaan first!
  19. In a way I agree with the OP. It would be nice to be surprised in our encounter with former companions, or other notable characters, much in the way we were surprised by: I liken this to some mistakes which I feel Marvel has made, especially with the upcoming "Civil War" Spoilers are bad, even if they are minor spoilers or vague ones. It removes the impetus to see content, or puts pre-determined expectations on content, which is especially bad in a RPG.
  20. I could see a chance for this, but probably not in the way you'd like to see it executed OP. With the addition of generic companions to the Cartel packs, it opens the door to a generic Padawan / Apprentice to be added, and they could choose to use a child model for it. This would in a small way, accomplish what the OP is seeking, but of course some of the main aspects of what the OP is seeking, wouldn't be fulfilled. You would have no cut scene interaction with your pupil, you wouldn't be able to customize their look either. So you'd be able to have a child Padawan / Apprentice, but without the gray areas that Bioware would want to avoid that would only be accessible through the cut scenes and ability to customize their looks. It would be a compromise move, and one I could see Bioware doing, if they thought enough people would buy packs to get such companions.
  21. To quote Tony Stark: "Not a great plan." By introducing incredibly poor drop rates, they don't bleed off free CCs in favor of later purchased CCs, because by the time they got around to improving drop rates, everyone would know the drop rates are terrible, and simply stop buying. At first, BW will get a healthy cash infusion from those people that simply can't stop themselves from buying hypercrate after hypercrate in search of their Holy Grail item. But eventually, the numbers will dwindle down, and the sales will bottom out, leaving BW with virtually no cash infusion, regardless of what they stick in the boxes or how they play with the drop rates. I have never seen a company, so dead set on blowing up their cash flow in such a foolish manner.
  22. Everytime you get a Chance Cube from the lockbox, instead of the new items from the lockbox, take a shot. Nope, don't do that. You'll likely die.
